I asked the assistant why didn't they call me and she said I should've called if I knew I'd be late. I can take accountability for running 8 mins late but it seemed that the dentist didn't want to be there on a spring Saturday and was essentially hoping I'd run late. Imagine driving a distance and possible running into traffic and not even given the courtesy of a phone call not to bother to come in. The assistant's nonchalant attitude didn't help the matter nor did she feel there is any accountability to be held on their end saying "well you confirmed the appointment for 12:30." I've never seen a professional doctor not give a grace period prior to canceling the appointment. Completely unprofessional. Definitely taking my business elsewhere.

Going in, I was convinced I was going to need major dental work. To my surprise, I didn't have any cavities or root canals, just a regular cleaning. The hygienist definitely had her work cut out for her after so many years, but she was gentle and never made me feel judged. About halfway through my cleaning, I unexpectedly had an anxiety attack and started crying. I have a longstanding fear of the dentist because of an experience I had as a child, and it all just hit me at once. I was so embarrassed. The way the staff responded is the reason I'm writing this review. They immediately stopped what they were doing, checked on me, brought me water, and gave me all the time I needed to calm down. Several of the women came in to make sure I was okay, and one of them even offered to turn on the TV to help distract me. Every single person treated me with so much kindness, patience, and compassion. Not once did I feel rushed or judged. If you've been putting off going to the dentist because of anxiety or fear, I genuinely recommend this office. They made what could have been a terrible experience feel safe and supportive, and I'm actually not dreading my next appointment. Thank you to everyone there for treating me with such genuine care. My father entered the dental program at Rutgers needing roughly $6000 in dental work. The instructors who supervised them were unprofessional and in constant conflict with each other and their students. My father's plan of care changed with every visit, and after one year in the program my father needed $17,000 in restorative dental work. The attendings also never made note of an escalating neurological condition that should not have allowed my father to spend long hours in a dental chair, he is now in a wheelchair after 2 spinal surgeries. Rutgers offered us a $250 refund and nothing more and my father is in a wheelchair. Use this program at your own risk.

After his care, kindness and ability to calm my nerves because I was so nervous and in pain, I was sold! I never went anywhere else but here. I've been a proud patient since 1991 and I have recommended many friends and family here because of Dr Glick. Even when I moved out of Harrison about 20 years ago, I still drove what ever amount of time it took just to see him. I am so sad to see him go as he enters retirement but he so deserves it. He's been taking care of my teeth for the past 30 something years every 6 months and I am sure going to miss him.
