Throughout the entire process, Elaine demonstrated exceptional legal skill, professionalism, and diligence. From the outset, the case was challenging due to an opposing party who was unwilling to negotiate and an imbalance in perceived influence and connections. Elaine immediately provided a sense of confidence and security, ensuring that I felt protected and fully represented at every stage. Her advice was consistently sound, practical, and direct, allowing me to make informed decisions during an extremely stressful period. Elaine's preparation and attention to detail were exemplary. She demonstrated complete command of every aspect of my case, and nothing was ever overlooked. She was consistently responsive, communicative, and thorough. One of her greatest strengths was her ability to assemble and manage a highly skilled team of financial experts and analysts. Through her leadership, our legal positions were supported by extensive documentation, detailed financial data, and clear evidentiary proof. As a result, whether in negotiations or in court, our case was always presented from a position of strength and credibility. Over the many years this matter was litigated, Elaine's preparation and advocacy were unmatched. She achieved consistently favorable outcomes and did not suffer a single loss. Her experience and strategic approach were evident at every stage of the proceedings. Divorce is an inherently difficult and emotional process, and this case represented one of the lowest points in my life. Elaine combined strength, professionalism, and genuine care, which made an immeasurable difference. Contrary to the common belief that no one is satisfied at the conclusion of a divorce, I was pleased with the outcome and relieved knowing that my interests had been fully protected. I could not have navigated this process without Elaine's guidance and advocacy. She is highly experienced, deeply respected, and an exceptional attorney. I recommend her without reservation to anyone seeking skilled and steadfast representation.

Melanie Emmons and Bruce Feder (Kato, Feder & Suzuki) billed over $500,000 during the original conservatorship process and are now attempting to double bill for another $22,000, despite not having represented me for nearly two years. Bruce Feder is retired and avoids litigation like the plague. Melanie Emmons -- a parent herself -- should know better than to drain a disabled child's care fund to pay her mortgage. The moral line here has clearly vanished. To make matters worse, the court-appointed attorney Melissa Karlsten, who has made decisions against my son's best interest, is allegedly a close friend of Emmons. Their former ally, Debra Dolch, and her partner Deb Fox, quietly resigned and passed the trust to the public guardian without notifying me -- a calculated betrayal. They removed me as conservator to avoid placing Jack in a proper residential home. And now they're billing his trust while denying me a legal defense. Paula Canny, who was the catalyst, drafted the trust and encouraged it be made "special needs" with Ken Horowitz, has also disappeared -- she recommended Melanie Emmons. Horowitz wouldn't even return a phone call after getting my signature. He was employed by my brother in law- said other beneficiary. My message to anyone dealing with this firm or circle of "professionals": stay far away. If you have a vulnerable family member or special needs child, you must be extra cautious. What happened to my son Jack should never happen to another family. Paula Canny could have easily corrected the issue, or retracted the trust, but made it worse. Now I have no limited -conservatorship, no fiduciary to handle the trust, and the public guardian has access to both. A trust I devised with Paula Canny. I currently can only visit my 22 year old son, Jack Moravcsik, once a day, and know nothing about him as if I am a criminal. I was the conservator. Gross negligence by Paula Canny. She wouldn't even show in court, to defend me as promised, calling my second attorney to protect herself. My second attorney quit after those chats. Lots of mutual backs scratching. Disgusting. Tried reporting her to the California Bar Association. Another group that protects their own. Parasitic troths.

A couple of weeks after my house was on the market, I was happy to receive an offer from a couple…read more As per standard practice, 3% of the agreed price was wired by the buyers to the title company handling the escrow. The buyers then proceeded to do their due diligence with various inspections, etc. Once the buyers were totally satisfied, they then removed all contingencies. I thought the rest of the process would be straightforward as we counted down towards the mutually agreed close-of-escrow date. But it turned out that the buyers' lending bank, which had earlier preapproved the buyers, decided at the last minute to back out, so the escrow fell through. I then had to go through the process of putting my house on the market again. Two months after that failed escrow, I received a letter from an attorney representing the unsuccessful buyers who argued that these buyers should get all their initial Ernest Money Deposit (EMD) back (this EMD was still being held by the title company). It was then that I contacted Cary Kletter's office to see if they would represent me in dealing with the buyers' attorney. Upon learning the key facts of this aborted escrow, Cary believed that I had a good case and agreed to represent me. So Cary wrote a very firm letter to the buyers' attorney. By first reminding the buyers the salient facts of this case, and why the escrow failed, Cary easily dismissed any basis the buyers might have for laying claim to the EMD. Nonetheless, Cary offered the buyers a small percentage of the EMD to settle the matter; the alternative being to go to mediation. Cary made it very clear to the buyers that should they lose in mediation, they would be responsible for all associated costs, including attorney fees. Thus with this one well-articulated and forceful letter, Cary was able to gain the upper hand in the negotiation that followed. This negotiation in fact went on for two more rounds. With each round, the buyers' attorney showed that they were willing to take a smaller and smaller percentage of the EMD. With the buyers evidently in retreat, Cary then issued a very strong 'take-it-or-go-mediation' final offer. The buyers' had little choice but to accede. Even though I did not get all the EMD and was quite sure that I would win in mediation, I was very happy with the final settlement. I was most relieved that we managed to avoid all the time and hassle of the mediation process. So I have to say Cary really knows his stuff when it comes to such negotiations! I was very impressed by Cary's negotiating style and tactics, and I am most grateful that he represented me.
