Wow. Unbelievable that I now have to downgrade my previous rating down to a 1 star. Please read my review if you plan on hiring this law firm to carry out any of your legal business. After I thought everything was taken care of (extremely poorly), I received a letter in the mail from the recorder's office stating that they did not receive the signed reassessment exclusion form (form that allows exclusion of reassessment when a property passed down from parents to child). If the form and copies of all required documents are not received within a month, my inherited house would automatically be assessed at street market value. WHAT?? I can't believe that after all that has happened (please read my previous review to see how unprofessional they were), I still have MORE to deal with just for them to provide legal help with something so common and simple. I'm not sure how other people are giving this place 5 stars - they couldn't even complete one simple task without any issues. I would absolutely AVOID this place if possible. read more

I highly recommend Lisa Tandoc of Tandoc Law Corp if you need help with Estate Planning. I had previously worked with a different firm and had documents drawn. Though I wasn't completely happy with the documents, I had nothing to compare them to. I felt like my wishes were force-fit onto their template, and required someone to interpret my wishes to my Trustee. When I had enough changes to warrant revision I met with Lisa and decided to have a restatement done, even though it would have been cheaper to revise with the prior firm. I have a relatively complex beneficiary structure and special situations. I felt that Lisa understood my wishes, she provided helpful advice, and tailored the documents to reflect my wishes using wording that is easier to understand, compared to my prior documents. She sent draft documents for my review in advance of our meetings and allowed me time to provide comment ahead of time. I did detailed review of the draft documents and asked questions regarding provisions that I was uncomfortable with. Each time, she explained circumstances which might arise and addressed my concerns. Reached out twice: via phone call and e-mail from her website. Never received a response from the e-mail query. On the phone I was told that she would be unavailable until about mid-August (it was early July when I called) and that she would return my call in late August. It's already September. Maybe she has too much business than she can handle now. UPDATE: We did eventually go with Lisa. She got back to us and apologized for the missed return call. She made changes in the way her business kept track of communications, and so far in my subsequent follow-ups I have received timely feedback. If u want a family estate planning lawyer u can't ask for anyone more patient, punctual, caring, organized and professional than Lisa. Appointments were made in a timely manner always accommodating our hectic schedule. She never made us wait and she never made us feel rushed as we had no knowledge of what to do or what to expect during this process of preparing a living trust/advanced directive for healthcare.
