This place is a joke. Many apts listed on Streeteasy. They never attempted to return calls or anseer emails or schedule tours/virtual tours.

Last summer, I was desperately looking for an apartment in Bay Ridge, but did not want to pay a relator. Ultimately, I decided to go for it, However, I became a little soured after dealing with them. I responded to an ad on Craiglist by a relator named, Christina, but when I get there it was her and a guy and each were invidually showing the apartment. I found this very awkward. The apartment had a dead roach, I too found this awkward, shouldn't a Realtor know the condition of an apartment prior to showing?! Furthermore, they each told me a different amount for the application fee and then concluded on $350 for the credit check and application, I found that to be absurd and left. A short time later, I saw another apartment that was advertised on Craiglist, this apartment was just right for my needs, but this time I was told the application was only $100, so I guess the first guy was going to pocket the extra $200... Anyhow, because of my prior dealings with the other two I was hesitant about leaving a $500 deposit which I was told was mandatory to get the ball rolling. I was contacted in the afternoon and told that someone else had placed a deposit and if I wanted to pay an extra $75 a month, I could have that apartment...WTF! I then asked if they had other apartments they could show me, I was shown one that was suitable, paid the application fee and was taken accross the street to another agency or Management Company as I was told. I expressed the importance of hearing back quickly and after a couple days was told management went with a better suited applicant. I believe they show a bunch of apartments to people just to get the application fees and credit check fees without the intention of actually renting it. I would not recommend them. read more

I needed to find an apartment in Brooklyn for my job transfer located in Bay Ridge. I had been looking in the neighborhoods of Sunset Park, Gowanus, Bay Ridge, and the South Slope area online for months. I came up one weekend in hopes of closing on a place and signing a lease. I met with Daniel to view an apartment in Sunset Park (probably my 4th apartment viewing of the day) after seeing an ad for the place on Naked Apartments. The actual apartment space was newly listed and did not have any pictures put up on the website yet, so I didn't really know what to expect. Upon arrival and meeting with Daniel, I saw that the area/street was a great section of Sunset Park and the building looked very safe and clean. Once we walked in I was very happy with the overall appearance of the lobby area. We walked up a flight of stairs and we were on the level of said apartment. I greeted the tenants inside and spoke with them a bit about the area and they seemed to like it. I loved the overall layout of the space, the interior brick surrounding the front door, and the ample living room/bedroom sections. I very quickly decided that I was ready to jump on it after hearing the price and proximity to the subway as well. Daniel was extremely accommodating to both my schedule for the rest of the day (I still had an apartment or two to view before leaving town again) and my overall situation being that I was coming from out of state on a quick trip. I met Daniel later that evening in his office to talk further. The following morning I met with the landlord and signed the lease. Overall, I was very impressed with Daniel and would completely recommend him to others that are apartment hunting in the future. 3/18/2015 ---- Nancy Ahmed is an asset to this company. I'm on a budget that made it very difficult to find a decent apartment in the Bay Ridge area, with the market rate rents on a constant rise. I looked at quite a few places in my 3 month long search, and in that time, I dealt with various local brokers (I'm still convinced most of them are mafiozos). Nancy restored my faith in this line of business with her professionalism and willingness to actually listen to what the client is looking for - and deliver results. She showed me a total of 3 apartments. All 3 were decent, good quality units with what appeared to be good landlords. She took the time to tell one of the landlords about me before I even looked at the apartment, to assure that she is showing me a unit that I have a chance of getting approved for. This tactic saved me and the landlord a lot of time, and it worked out well since I actually really liked the apartment. I signed the lease yesterday and I'm very pleased with the whole experience. Lies! Lies! Lies! Bait and Switch!!!! Go to them if you want an apartment in Scam City, USA!! Pauline doesn't know anything and confidently will give you all the wrong information. She told us the fee was ONE MONTH ($1600) -- it's not, it's 11% of the annual rent, which would have been $2112. She told us dogs were okay for a certain apartment, as was listed on NakedApartments as a Medium Dogs and Cats, OK, apartment; furthermore Pauline told us there wasn't a pet deposit -- not the case. The lease said no dogs. At lease signing the landlord said okay, but wanted an additional $1000 pet deposit. Pauline didn't mention the $300 application fee. An invoice was sent with this AFTER our application had been processed. They did waive this fee, but I feel like they didn't have a choice. Seriously, stay away from these scammers. I don't know what trick they're running, but it's a hot mess. read more

This review is speaking strictly to my experience with Nancy, one of the agents. I first contacted Nancy in October to assist me with finding a 2BR apartment in Bay Ridge. Looking for an apartment without an agent isn't nearly as effective and is extremely time consuming so paying a broker's fee is a no brainer in my opinion. As soon as I contacted Nancy and gave her my budget, move-in date, etc., she had a few showings lined up the next day, very efficient. Within a week my roommate and I were approved for an apartment and ready to sign the lease. Unfortunately something came up and we had to back out and push back our move out date a few months. When we told Nancy about this she obviously wasn't thrilled but was not rude which was a nice surprise because she spent a lot of time working for us and we backed out at the last minute. Fast forward a couple of months, I contact Nancy directly informing her were now ready to move forward with an apartment. She didn't miss a beat and was just as efficient as the last time. She found a 2BR gem for us in the prime area of Bay Ridge. Not only does it have a backyard, but it was below our budget. Were moving in this week and couldn't be happier with our decision to stick with Nancy. She's pretty personable too which made the process more enjoyable. Not only do they give you the impression that you are already approved for an apartment, they give you the total run around for days between them and other management companies. When you are told you are not approved for the particular apartment you want they try to push their other crappy apartments on you in hope that you will be desperate enough to move into the other roach infested crappy apartments that they have. It's hard to review a brokerage because your mileage may vary depending on your broker, but we had a very good experience here with Klevi. We learned on Friday that a broker from a different firm had been stringing us along. On Friday I freaked out and contacted a ton of people on NakedApartments. Klevi was the first to respond and immediately took me to see a beautiful rent-controlled place in Bay Ridge. We got all our documents in on Sunday, then Klevi helped us with the interview and we signed the lease on Monday. Probably the most painless apartment hunting experience I've ever had in NYC, and Klevi was incredibly responsive and polite, often driving my fiancee and me to the subway, or even my Sunset Park office, after seeing the apartment. Even the broker fee was very reasonable and better than we're used to in Manhattan. Overall, great experience! read more

It has been a while since I looked at apartments and was hesitant to use a broker. I heard the awful stories told by others and wasn't planning on using one. However, I had no choice in the end but to work with one due to an extremely busy work schedule. I saw some ads listed on Craigslist and Naked Apartments and decided to call and email this agency. I got a response from an individual (female) who works at this company via text message asking me if I was interested in seeing an apartment. I agreed to meet in order to see some apartments but she ended up sending a (male) coworker. This took me by surprise and it was the first sign of a red flag. The gentleman who met me showed me the tiniest apartments that I have ever seen. I kept saying that I needed a good amount of space in my new place, but the apartments were either too small or the buildings were not well maintained. I believe that I was very clear about what I wanted but it seems these people never really see the apartments from the get go and drag you along while they view them for the first time. They also tend to send you to apartments on your own, only to find units locked without any contact information to call once you get there. Then a few weeks later another agent from this realty calls me to schedule a viewing for an apartment which I had inquired about. I didn't realize that I was dealing with the same company until he mentioned the name "Leonidas Realty". I explained that due to a not very pleasant experience a few weeks ago I wished not to work with him or his company . This individual (male) became very aggressive and proceeded to scold me while trying to change my views so that I could work with the company again. He went as far as accusing me of playing games, texting me obscenities and death threats. I had no idea that this type of unprofessionalism and plain out disgraceful business etiquette truly existed until I meet the folks at this realty. Please take this review as a warning, if you are looking for an apartment to rent or home to buy do go elsewhere. Unless you don't mind working with people that have no clue what true customer service and satisfaction is all about. I wish I could give this company 0 stars!! read more

We had gone through other realtors and we had dealt directly with landlords. We were doubtful that we could even find a place with our situation being what it is. DO NOT RECOMMEND. This place sucks. I was very desperate for an apartment and came to this place because it was around the area I was planning on moving to. Jackson showed me an apartment which looked very good and the price was absurdly low. Hence, I left a $500 deposit so "they don't show it to anyone else". To my surprise, I was not approved even though I got excellent credit and was even willing to pay 6 months in advance to speed things up. Mr. Jackson told me I could only be refunded $300 because the application fee was $200. After a couple of weeks I opened up a new phone line, so they checked my credit, and guess what happened? It's on my credit report. You know what's not? The application I paid $200 for. I tried contacting Jackson to no avail. If they don't refund my money, I'll have to call the cops. So, if you're looking for apartments and want to try the real estate route, pleass do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more
