Historical home and out buildings right in downtown Calabasas. Try to get on the home tour as it's very interesting. Live animals on the property and you can purchase food to feed them

Nice small place to explore with toddlers that includes history, historic buildings, animals, barns and old time wagons. Most of the exploring is outdoors so it can get hot during the summer- bring a hat! It took about an hour to explore the place. We did not get to check out Calabasas Creek Park as it looked closed but next time for sure! They have strange hours on Sat and Sun (1-4pm) only. Apparently it's school groups only during the weekdays. Entrance fee is donation based and they post suggested donations per person. After our hot tour, we grabbed a quick bite from Sagebush Cantina next door which has a nice outdoor patio but not great Mexican food. Chicken feed is 50cents and alfalfa hay for the goats/sheep is $1.50. Passport 2 History is $5. So we ended up paying $20 for 2 adults and a toddler.

We attended a High Tea fundraiser at the Leonis Adobe in June 2019. Dates recently extended, Saturdays through August 2019. Relax on the veranda of Los Angeles' first Historic-Cultural Monument with tea, finger sandwiches, scones, and other delightful treats. Three sittings are held at 11am, noon, and 1 pm. Before or after tea, be sure to stroll the grounds. We enjoyed visiting a month old lamb, goats, a baby calf. The flowers are beautiful this year, especially the hollyhocks. Call Ye Olde King's Head at (310) 451-1402 to make a reservation.

Built in 1844, the Leonis Adobe is is one of the oldest private residences in Los Angeles County. The Adobe was occupied by the wealthy rancher. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is at the center of Historic downtown Calabasas. Currently closed because of Covid but we were still able to see the property from the sidewalk as well as the farm animals.

Highly recommend! I spend almost every Saturday in this area and finally visited this museum. As soon as you enter you're greeted by the nicest volunteers. There's a $5 donation to enter ( totally worth throwing them a few extra bucks). Before we explored the home, Andy explained the story of The Leonis which made the tour experience more surreal. There were chickens, Texas horn cows and goats! We had so much fun hand feeding the goats. The staff do a great job of keeping the area so clean and sharp. The museum is small but you can get a good hour out of the visit just enjoying the animals and the home. I also recommend stopping by the gift shop!

You can buy feed for the sheep and goats and chicken, and we even got to pet the goats as they were very gentle.

Tony and Diana are both incredibly helpful, personable, and genuinely kind. The customer service here is top notch. They remember their customers, take the time to get to know what you're looking for, and somehow seem to know what plants you might like before you even ask. That personal touch makes the experience feel so much more welcoming than just shopping at a typical nursery. Their plants are also priced very fairly compared with other places, which makes it a win-win: great selection, great service, and reasonable prices. This has become one of our favorite local spots, and I always leave happy with what I find.

I, in no way, shape or form, have a green thumb but I felt like I could now take care of plants with the information we were given and learning about the different types of plants that would work best for our home (low light, no light etc). Not only did we find a few indoor plants we really liked, but we also learned about outdoor plants and what would work for our backyard! The prices are also very reasonable, so it's a win-win all around. Can't wait to come back and bring our plants home.

WORST COMPANY you could ever hope to find. If there were a reality show for the most incompetent…read moreconstruction company with the lowest ethical business practices, Vitoli would win by a landslide. Speaking of landslides, the infinity spa they built on our hill was done incorrectly so needs to be rebuilt so as to not send chlorinated water rushing down the mountain with each use. For now, we have to limit to two people despite its 10 person capacity. Yeah, and that's just the beginning. We had a $220,000 budget to build a dream yard in an estimated 6 months, but they built all of the retaining walls incorrectly so add an 18-month delay as we sorted out problems with permitting, during which time much of the existing part of the yard was damaged. They forgot to run a water line to the sink and ice maker in the outdoor kitchen rendering them useless, put the incorrectly built walls in the wrong place entirely, built a fence that fell down...for a more complete list please see attached photos. When we hired them, they promised a foreman would be on site at all times but in fact, they had a project manager on site only about 10% of the time and I'm being generous. We loved the workers and I would wake up early each morning to bake breakfast treats and brew coffee for them, however they would often come to us in confusion for direction without a foreman, but we had a language barrier even my best intentions couldn't overcome and grave mistakes were made. Each attempt at demanding said foreman only yielded increasingly angry calls from the owner, who went so far as to call us racists, sometimes with threats of leaving the project or suing us. We paid in full as projects were completed as per our contract, all $220K, but were not refunded for the many parts done incorrectly, and were instead made promises that simply weren't kept. With no less than $50K left to do, we finally kicked them off of our property when they started refusing to complete items -- we simply decided to remove the toxicity from our lives. Particularly evil was their pool equipment installer Bernardo who we caught in multiple lies and who was wont to covering his high level of incompetence by accusing us of "sabotaging our own project." Absolutely ludicrous, yes, but the owner went with it, I suppose it was easier than dealing with more wretched errors on their part. Meanwhile, if there was a corner that could be cut, they found it, and always at our expense. When we first were shut down by the county, I looked here on Yelp and to my dismay, found many negative reviews. They have since disappeared somehow so before writing my review, I reached out to YELP corporate, who assured me mine would remain. As I try to enjoy my unfinished dream yard, it occurs to me that all I can do at this point is protect as many people as I can from falling victim to companies such as Vitoli. Had I been smarter I would have asked for references or gone with a company recommended to me. Beware The Home Mag as they don't vet their advertisers at all, they don't even require proof that photos used are actually work done by said company, they need nothing but the ad copy and money to qualify and so I would argue that the companies that advertise in The Home Mag are ones whose work doesn't merit a good referral and so they advertise instead. Vitoli often graces their cover, which makes sense... The owner promised to fix it all, said he'd take care of us and we believed him to be sincere. But now all I have left is an unfinished yard and no funds to finish it. Shameful, but all true. I believe I know exactly what the response to this review will be, but I will endure it for the sake of helping others. Please note my other reviews, as they are a healthy mix of good and bad -- that is what I understand the purpose of Yelp to be.
