The Old Tin Shed has worked it's way into the heart of the Bancroft community. The store always has unique home decorative items that have been salvaged from other materials and you can always find that perfect decor idea that just seems to speak out to you and call your name to buy it. While browsing through the store one day with my mother, we were offered free apple cider. The Old Tin Shed is a definite asset to the local shopping atmosphere of the town.

I bought a dragon mounted on a crystal ball. After expressing my love of dragons, I was shown many others that I had completely missed! They even brought out a huge kite and a walking stick, both dragon themed!! The store has everything! From clothing and headwear to crystals and incense to classic tourist memorabilia and world wide ethnic items, too numerous to mention. I'd suggest a visit, even if you are just driving thru Barry's Bay on the way to Algonquin Park. You will love it!!

Lisa and Cathy are terrific and they have regular project classes, so if you're in the area you can drop by to check their schedule. My only regret is that I'm NOT in the area more often! They have different genres and have updated reads.I went with my mom recently and she purchased the diet book, Wheat Belly and a couple Chicken Soup for the Souls, and I was amazed by the current books they have in stock. The owner is in the know with different books that are trending. They also have used books as well. This is a great book store for the town of Bancroft and they have some pretty good deals. Enjoy going for a coffee and then browsing this book store and taking in some local shopping. Enjoy.

Because I'm in the construction field, my eye glasses get a fair bit of abuse. I'm cleaning them 2 -3 times a day. And after 15 months, I literally wore off the protective coating that comes with the lens. At that point, I was looking to purchase a new set of glasses because the frame I had chosen wasn't the proper fit/type for me (had no nose pieces - just a frame) I went back there expecting to purchase a new pair of frames and lenses. But to my surprise, all I had to pay for was a frame. That was more than fair. Melisa was able to get me new lens under warranty, even though I was well past the 12 months period. When the new glasses came in, I wore them for a couple of weeks and noticed that I couldn't read the credits at the movie theatre (who sits there and read credits? lol) Anyways, I went back to Bancroft Eye Care and explained my situation. They found out that the optical company didn't grind the lenses exactly to fit my new frames, which were quite a bit larger than my original glasses. So another order went back out. A week later, I picked up my new glasses and must say that all is good. So anyone reading this review. I want you to know that the staff at Bancroft Eye Care went out of their way to satisfy me and make things right. I'm one HAPPY CUSTOMER. I have also worn glasses for 48 years. My one and only beef!! throw in the 1st bottle of eye glasses cleaner. Robert S.
