I have read all these review and mostly agree, except our experience ended on a bad note. Yes, he was Responsive, managed to schedule me within days of giving me the estimate because someone else Canceled, and did the work well. I have a mesquite tree in my back yard and wanted my tree and the neighbors tree hanging over into my yard trimmed to let in more light. He quickly gave me the same line...that he couldn't be bothered ro just trim one quarter of it and the overhanging branch from neighbor. So we discussed doing the whole tree which involved taking down one string of lights. When he called to schedule, I clarified that he would be there and that he would take down and then put back up the lights. When he wanted payment I checked rhe back yard and saw he had not re hung lights. When I pointed this out he instantly got mad and started to make all kinds of excuses. I stood my ground and with great drama he finally stalked off and got his ladders back there with his crew and did a lousy job...lights are wound around a big limb instead of being hung property draped from branch to branch. Although yes, in the end he put them back Up, his lousy attitude and effort in that one area really left a bad taste! read more

Our mesquite tree had grown too much, and with monsoons around the corner, my husband was worried one of the branches could break off and damage our home or our neighbor's. Found Leon on Yelp when we finally decided to get our big Eucalyptus tree trimmed that was well overdue. Leon came out, told us just what he thought was needed and gave us a fair estimate. Leon had come out on Monday to give me an estimate (the same day I called), and was 1/2 the price of another company I spoke with. We needed 3 mature mesquites trimmed badly. I believe he was also the only company I called that actually answered the call himself, and didnt have a front office person. The other companies took hours to get back to me, and for this job, I was wanting to schedule quickly and get the trimming done before it got any later in the season. Based of this and his great reviews on Angie's List, I hired Leon's Tree Service. Leon and his crew of 3 arrived at 7:00am on the dot, per our arrangement. We looked at the trees together and he explained his suggestions, and he went from there. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, cleaning up as they went, making sure to blow all the leaves and debris out of the rock in my yard. I had just had the landscapers clean up the yard earlier in the week after months of neglect, so this was important to me! At the end of each initial trimming, Leon checked with me to see if I liked how it looked and if I wanted any more done. I made my requests, and he let me know what would be most beneficial for the tree, and for aesthetics. He explained how to water the trees post trimming, so they would regenerate quickly. While he was at my house, I got ready for work and even walked my dog, and the crew just worked away. In the end, he offered my 10% off without me even asking (I was planning to use the 5% of Angie's List coupon) - I was very grateful and impressed. Would give no stars if I could. Very rude and disrespectful he came out after a storm had caused a branch of my tree to break off. He went in my backyard took a quick look and left, we never heard from him. I called and was told he's not gonna come over here for a tree branch it's too small of a job. When I called Leon, he picked up my call and came out in the afternoon to do an estimate for 2 trees that needed some serious trimming. Gave me a great quote (compared to other tree services) and went with his company. When he showed up to do the job at the proposed time, he was 15 min early and was able to do the job in 90 min (trim and cleanup). Leon came on Friday and gave me an estimate ($1300 for 8-9 mequites seriously overgrown and with lots of mistletoe). They came back Monday morning and started my job. Everything was nicely trimmed, raked up, and cleaned up. They trimmed a round a bird's nest so as not to disturb it. They even threw in pruning some branches from another tree without charging me extra. They cut up the large mesquite branches (which I use for firewood) and stacked them neatly by my woodpile.
