Simply put. This bakery had some of the best pastries I had the pleasure of sampling while I was in Paris. YUM! On top of that, they were actually nice to a non-French speaking American. Extra points! read more

We went for two reasons: Macarons and Baguette Sandwiches. The Macaron selection was plentiful, affordable and well packaged. They had the delightful texture you'd expect and were packed with flavor. Our standout though were the baguettes. Every morning we'd pick one up for our days adventure. The Hamon and Butter was a bit lighter on butter than some of the others we had at Versailles but the mozzarella was perfect and honestly makes me wish we had something remotely as tasty here in the states. Filling without being too filling, these were the perfect carb bombs to energize our day of walking around Paris. Worth a detour to stop in here.

The store is gorgeous and will immediately catch your eye, I knew I had to come see what was going on in here. I crossed over and walked in to find the most delightful le merveilleux. My advice would be don't trek all over town with them, enjoy them or store them to enjoy later. They were great but they are fairly delicate. These treats are super light and the perfect little treats. The mini size is perfect to enjoy several flavors. I'm a Los Angeles native and while many may say they haven't seen or heard of these le merveilleux before, we have a little French bakery at home called Le Mervetty that I've ordered cakes from and they make these. I got the sampler of 6 merengues in a cute box but I only got to try 3 as I shared the rest with our house host. My fave was the Magnifique - meringue coated in pralines. So light and airy as with the rest. The Merveilleux - chocolate was a bit too sweet for my taste what with the layers n layers of chocolate. I am not a fan of white chocolate so I did not like the Incroyable - white chocolate with speculoos. The shop have different branches in Paris as well as the train stations but we went to the one by the Moulin Rouge. A Slice of Heaven at Notre Pâtisserie, Paris!…read more My visit to Notre Pâtisserie was nothing short of magical-this charming Parisian gem exceeded all my expectations with its flawless pastries and warm, inviting ambiance. The Tarte au citron meringuée was an absolute revelation: the crisp, buttery crust cradled a velvety lemon filling that struck the perfect balance between tangy and sweet, finished with a delicate torched meringue topping. Pure sunshine on a plate! Their legendary Opera Cake is a masterclass in precision-layers of almond sponge, coffee buttercream, and dark chocolate ganache harmonize into an elegant, rich symphony of flavors. Each bite was sheer perfection. I fell in love with their Orange Brioche Buns, too-pillowy soft dough swirled with fragrant orange zest and a hint of caramelized sweetness. Paired with coffee, it was morning bliss. And of course, their Croissant? The gold standard. They have an excellent selection from bread to pastries and cakes to macaroons. By far the best macaroons I've ever had, though a little pricey, they are well worth it. My favourite out of the macaroons is the fig variety. There is a lot more to choose from compared to your average local bakery, they have many display windows with typical pastries, and even more displays with unique deserts and savoury pastries. They also have a small indoor seating area, cozy and lovely. If you're visiting Paris and the metro is accessible to you it is well worth a visit. The tramway line 3a is directly across the street, and on the weekends there is a local flea market, Puces de Vanves to be enjoyed less than a block away.
