Lamb kebab platter $16.99
DineoutGal A.

Solid place. Love that more and more middle eastern places are opening up in the city. This one is in a strip mall on St. James Street. Saj Pockets - Chicken pocket $9.99 - Chicken with Cheese & Spinach. Think of a much better version of a pizza pop. My favourite are the Les Saj Platter. I love the Shish Tawouk platter $16.99 - marinated and grilled chicken breast on skewers with rice OR french fries, side salad, pickles, turnips, hummus, garlic sauce, homemade hot sauce and freshly baked Saj bread. The chicken is sooo flavourful and juicy. The lamb kebab is also a good choice instead of chicken. It's a very casual restaurant. Super friendly staff. Great to buy and take home for dinner as well.

Nailed it,waaaaaoo food is amazing means amazingly good fresh fully satisfied. If someone lives in Winnipeg you eat meat please go there once. You will certainly love the food. Closes intersections is Sagent and st. James st right opposite The brick store and next to Kaltire. Less parking space though. Food ambiance and people beautiful good customer service they like doing what they are doing and they know what they are doing. Definitely will be coming back and bringing my friends. Thank you

I tried this place on a whim when I was out visiting Winnipeg and had to stay closer to the airport. The place looks very unassuming from the outside, it's located in a strip mall next to a nail salon. I really was just expecting some normal Middle Eastern food, but I was really surprised. I have eaten falafel and Shawarma and most of the cities I've been to including Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, and Toronto. I would put that falafel wrap next to almost any other place I've eaten at. That wrap was so good. If you ever have to stay in the area near this restaurant and like Middle Eastern food, you must try this place. I want to order so many things off the menu but since I was by myself I got the falafel wrap. I am so pleasantly surprised and hope this place makes you as happy as it made me.

Chicken shawarma, was supposed to be with vegetables no lettuce but ended up being with burned onions soaked in oil and that's it.

Had my and wife's order remade 3 times . 1st. Wrap was burned tested like coal. 2nd. they forgot vegetable and sauce and hummus all it head was chicken and burned onions black . I'm not overreacting I'm not picky by any means but it was black and soaked in oil. I was not gonna eat burned crap. 3rd. And this is about 30-35min from when I originally ordered, wrap with chicken, again forgot Vegies sauce hummus just chicken and oily onions . And in my wife's wrap there was some kind of burned piece that's been in the oil tray of the grill for god knows how long. Walked back and the owner tells me " we remade it 3 times for you what do you else do you want? Here is your money back now leave! " Here is what I want :MY FOOD MAKE THE WAY I ORDER BECAUSE WE ARE PAYING FOR IT! I was a customer on a weekly basis for years and to get treated like that ? I don't recommend Les saj To anyone ANYMORE!!!! Look at the size of that wrap. Costco hot dog sausage is bigger! 40 min and ruined dinner and day!

Lots to say, but in short, try a different ramen restaurant. I sampled a ton thanks to their meal…read moreset and was VERY underwhelmed. The miso ramen is boring. The broth is thick hot water with almost literally no flavor, and there's definitely no harmony. It's like the broth was made using boxed stock/broth. They say there's a 12 hour in house broth cooked daily but it isn't working well. You know how many ramens and stews taste better as the flavors settle and sink in? That doesn't happen here. The chicken karage is solid but heavy on the breading. You get more crispy skin than chicken which isn't ideal if you're hungry. Or, you know, paying for chicken. The vegetarian gyoza are fine but nothing special. The bottoms look charred but taste soft, almost like the color was painted on - I know it's not, but it still looks that way. Then there's the vegetarian ramen... It's bad. It's bad enough that I can call it the worst vegetarian ramen I've tried. Truly no flavor and it's so unremarkable that I'm struggling to describe it. It's corn, chives, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and noodles floating in hot water. You will absolutely need to add salt and spice. You'll also notice that what you receive in both size and color doesn't match the menu photos. Look at the Monthly Combo in my menu photo. Best example is that the salad I was served was 1/4 the size and also missing tomato and cucumber as shown in the photo. Save your money, skip this spot.

Best ramen I've had in Winnipeg, so far. Rich, umami broth, the way it's supposed to beread more

The table service was good too, they brought the food right to our table once it was cooked. The Baba Ganesh was very sweet, maybe a bit too sweet, but I dipped my spinach and cheese pie in it and then it was such a delicious blend of creamy! Cheesy and creamy goes well together. Overall the food was great! And the large quantity of it is worth the amount it cost, plus it's fantastic.

The restaurant itself is not very bright inside, there's a few tables inside but it was full at lunch time. Take out works as the food holds up well to travel. The service is super friendly and warm. I ordered the beef shawarma platter with tabouli salad and hummus and pita for about $10 after tax. It's a massive lunch but I managed to finish the entire plate in 20 minute intervals. The meat was a bit dried out, guess it was roasting a little too long. And I didn't find the meat to be as flavourful as I had hoped. But it was still good. I LOVED the tabouli - I'd say the best one I've ever had. It is packed with flavours and the citrus helps cut out the heaviness of the meat and hummus. I'd go back and just order a plate of the tabouli. The hummus was garlicky and pureed very smoothly. I got two big pieces of pita bread to enjoy all that hummus. The kebab platter came with 6 kebabs, rice, tabouli, hummus and 2 pieces of pita bread. The rice is deliciously flavoured and the kebabs were a tad dry but had great flavour to it. I would've liked some hot sauce to go with it, it was take out so I added some sriracha from home which made it even more delicious! I like their falafels as well as it was a very generous sized ball (a little smaller than a baseball). Very light inside. The spinach pie is a pretty big enclosed pita with spinach and cheese inside for $3. Delicious and not greasy at all. The only con if you're not dining in, is finding parking on Ellice Ave during lunch time. Otherwise, great place for a very satisfying meal.
