We pulled into a Love's station only to be told they didn't have the right equipment for the repairs we needed. Went online and found Tire Den and called them about 5:20 pm realizing we were about an hour out (nursing the trailer along the road) and they were closing at 6:00 pm. Spoke with Jon and he said that they have an after hours tech that would be available when we got there. We made it to Tire Den in Rock Springs about 6:10 pm and Jon and Bo were just heading out as we pulled up. Jon called the after hours tech (Joey) and had him come down to meet us. As we waited for Joey, Jon and Bo had us pull the trailer inside and they both started evaluating the damage. Jon and Bo ended up staying and helping Joey complete the job. All three went the extra mile either by staying late and helping (Jon & Bo), or by hustling down and getting the job done (Joey). They went through all the tires, replaced the spare we had, sold us an extra spare, replaced the other two tires that needed replacing and realized that the main tire we had consistent problems with was missing a spindle nut retainer and went to see if they had one in stock. Jon came back with an extra nut to try and double nut it because they didn't have the spindle retainer in stock, but that didn't work either, so we were just going to make due without it (we had been doing it that way the whole trip unknown to us) when Jon shows back up at the trailer 15 minutes later with the spindle nut retainer we needed. He actually went outside to the "bone yard" and searched through old parts and found one. Telling you that these dudes (Jon, Bo, & Joey) were clutch for us is an understatement. We tried Love's (they didn't have the tools apparently, but they also offered no suggestions, and damn sure no effort like going to the "bone yard"), we tried three other numbers (including being left on hold for 25 minutes), but Tire Den kept it simple with what they offer (regular business hours & after hours technician) in this stretch of Country where tire repair is critical. In a time where most businesses are short staffed and over worked, Tire Den has managed to not only stay staffed, but staffed with solid ass men who take pride in helping with hours that support the kind of stranded folks like ourselves. They also employ the kind of solid people that make recommendations (both Jon & Bo at separate times diagnosed a possible bent axle and recommended getting the trailer aligned once we made it home to California) that had nothing to do with extra money for them, but everything to do with the long term health of the trailer and our safety towing it. As soon as I arrived, a crew of four guys jumped right in and got to work. They carefully backed my coach up to the shop, jacked up the rig, removed the tires in no time, and submerged them in a large water tank to check for any leaks. After they couldn't find a leak, I reached into my pocket and realized the culprit was actually my newly installed tire pressure monitoring sensor cap. I put it back on, and there was the source of the problem. Problem solved! When I went inside to pay, the owner (or manager) simply smiled and said, "You're good--we've got you covered." They didn't charge me a dime. I went back outside with some cash and gave the technician who did most of the work about $40, asking him to share it with the rest of the crew. They had earned every penny. It's rare these days to find a business that treats people with this level of honesty, kindness, and customer service. Dan's Tire Service has definitely earned my trust, and they'll have my business whenever I'm passing through Rock Springs. If you're traveling through Wyoming--especially in an RV--and need anything tire-related, I can't recommend Dan's Tire Service highly enough. They are true professionals and genuinely good people.

On Friday June 26, 2026 we were 2500 miles from home towing our camper when we got a check engine…read morelight on our 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 with 51k miles (still under powertrain warranty). We called Whisler Chevrolet (they were the closest to our location), and were told to bring the vehicle by and they would check it and get us back on the road quickly. Upon arrival (11am), we were informed the service technician was on his way to lunch and would diagnose our vehicle when he got back from lunch in an hour. After some time we were told the vehicle needed a new transmission, and they had one in the shop, but were waiting for GM to approve the repair as a warranty claim. Eventually, the warranty repair was approved by GM, but we were told the repair would not be made until Monday morning because no shop work was done after hours or on weekends. We were very frustrated because we had been at the dealership for 7 hours and nothing had been done to repair our vehicle. The shop employee suggested we talk to a salesperson about trading our vehicle for a new truck (which we had only had for 4 months). She introduced us to the salesperson, and the first thing he told us was the repair amount would be subtracted from our trade-in value despite the fact it was a warranty issue (this practice hardly seems ethical). We canceled our weekend plans, rented a U-haul truck so we could tow our camper to a campground less than a mile from the dealership, and spent 3 unnecessary days in a town in which we had no interest.

We were pretty concerned, as we only have a few days to look around, and in Wyoming you need a good vehicle to do so. So we checked online last night at about 4:30pm which was dicey in itself because they close at 5. But we drove down there anyway to talk with them, and even as they were closing, they were able to make a spot for us this morning 8/28/25. We got there at 8am and before we could ask, Kira at the front desk offered to find us a ride back to our hotel. We gratefully accepted! The owner Rick gave us a ride and after talking for a few minutes, we felt very comfortable with both him and his establishment. He assured us that they would do everything in their power to get us back on the road as quickly as possible. Right after 9am, we got a call from them, letting us know they found the issue and would start fixing it right away. So we took a short walk around our hotel's neighborhood and not long after we came back, the phone rang again. They had fixed our truck and it was ready! It wasn't even noon yet! We were very impressed. And Rick came back to pick us up at our hotel to get our truck.
