Got some tickets when they had a sale back in April and redeemed this passed weekend. All areas were crowded but we made sure to wait our turn to see all the big exhibits up close. The Dangerous Lagoon was definately the highlight. Despite how busy it was, everything just slows down here. The moving walkway slowly moves you through the beautiful massive underwater tunnel for what felt like 7 minuites. The jelly fish display where the lighting creates a majestic scene of the jellyfish changing color in synchrony from the deep dark purples to the most vibrant reds was also a sight to see. A great variety of sea creatures on display here. You think it, they had it. Several areas for interactive play throughout including a playplace at the end (good luck following your kid in there - the play structure was packed to the max). You can also pet the stingrays on your way out. We spent a little over 2 hrs here. If it wasnt so busy may have waited for the dive shows and feeding times. Couldve also been a more relaxing experience if they limit the number of admissions throughout the day. I remember during COVID they had a time slot system. Seems theyve went away with it now. Come really early as initially we had difficulty finding a parking that would fit our SUV (w/o scratching ours and others' cars!) When we complained and were about to leave, the parking attendant found us a better space that had more room. We came with our toddler (2.5-ish) just for her. I agree with sentiment of some other reviewers that the rides could use an upgrade. If it's first time your kid is riding, I would sit with them on slower rides. At least they had some animals (rabbits, donkey, horses, sheep?, goats, and Llamas). Food is the same that you would expect anywhere in an amusement. Pizzas, burgers, fries, etc. etc. Important note: When going back, you will see "Water Taxi" signs and "Ferry". Do not stand in massive line for Ferry. We waited almost an hour then decided to ditch the line and it didn't take us much time to get a water taxi instead. There were few people and in very short time, enjoyed our ride back. Taking the ferry to Centre Island is affordable and quick. It was only $9.00 CAD for round trip tickets, and there were 3 points of entry: Centre Island, Ward's Island and Hanlan's Point. We chose to take the Centre Island ferry on a Friday morning. It was very packed but the loading and unloading of passengers was efficient, so things seemed to move pretty quickly. One of the first things you notice about the island are all the bike paths. There are ample opportunities to rent bikes for the day, and we saw many people taking advantage of that. But, if renting bikes isn't on your list, there are plenty of other activities that are totally free. There was also an old lighthouse and a hedge maze to explore. There are also boardwalks leading out to Lake Ontario's coastline where you can get some amazing views into the seemingly endless lake or the Toronto skyline. There were some dining options like pizza or beaver tails, but we opted to skip the food options and have lunch on the mainland. One thing I would note is while we didn't see any personally; a fellow pedestrian jumped when he said he saw a snake in the grass, so if you stray from the paved paths, I would keep an eye out for that. We walked all the way to Hanlan's Point and took the ferry back from that point to the main terminal. It was quick and easy, and made for a fun little morning adventure. What a fantastic resource to have a nice grouping of islands where nature can be experienced right by the water. I loved my trip to Centre Island and to a greater extent, Toronto Island Park. It's definitely worth the visit to get out of the city and indulge in more nature-centric activities.

It's also virtually deserted. If it were me, I would try to hide the lots full of trucks and generators with a wall of hedges. And have more greenery dotting the place. Maybe some fake palm trees around the pool. And real trees in planters in the GIGANTIC patio area (which also has pool tables, ping pong and fooz ball tables). Polson Pier makes Ontario Place look like Disneyworld. The pool area is small, but pleasant. There are about 50 deck chairs and 4 giant bed sort of things that you can lay about on (down from 8 last year, boo). The pool itself is kind of like a big fountain. It's 4 feet deep with a ledge all the way across where you can sit. It's chlorinated, which makes me thirsty and sleepy. The pool area has a bar on the side and a great view of the city. It's also got a pretty wide range of visitors, from young families to a group that could only be described as "Vin Diesel and his stripper friends." Use of the pool is $10, you buy a paper bracelet at guest services. The bar and food is fine. We drank tall boys of Rolling Rock, which were $7.50 each. Not cheap, but not ridiculous, considering you're so far from everything. You go to the bar to get drinks. This place might have gotten another star if they had servers in the pool area. I got an order of deep fried pickles at the cantina, which were fine, but pricey at $5.25 for 4 strips. A round of mini golf is $9 each. Also pricey, and the course is full of pits, but it's laid out well. Plus, I managed to tie with the Hubster, which makes me happy. If there was more going on, we might have stayed later and took in a movie at the drive-in (which doubles as the driving range), but the place was so deserted, we opted to leave. Honestly, this could be a really awesome way to spend a day if they just made a few changes. For one thing, maybe have a shuttle bus or something so that people could get there really easily. Then spruce it up a bit, bring the prices down a bit, and advertise the living hell out of it. Also, have two pools: the family pool, and the 19+ pool. We'll definitely be back again, because it's a genuinely relaxing place to hang, but if we found a decent replacement, we'd go there instead.

There are four kid friendly areas - the large themed playground, Snoopyland, Kidzville, splashpads. Each has endless entertainment for kids. The water park feels like acompletely different park experience. Like 2 parks in one! Easy to spend a whole day at either. It features exciting waterslides, a lazy river and 3 seperate splash pads! The shows are great! The characters and performers are so enthusiastic! At the recent Kidzfest, we met Paw Patrol characters. There was a very entertaining interactive Bubble Show performed by a ballerina. At night next to the water, was an amazing fire show. Selected nights there is a spectacular firework show (be sure to stay as its a long one). There are theme days throughout the year such as Halloween Haunt and Winterfest - each has its own enchanting features making each experience feel unique every visit. It's always been a charming, manageable park with reasonable wait times. You can easily hit both the amusement park and the waterpark in one day, which is a huge win. Compared to Canada's Wonderland, which I also grew up going to, we definitely prefer Darien Lake now. Wonderland's crowds are out of control, and it's just not worth the hassle anymore. At Darien Lake, you actually get your money's worth. The coaster lineup is solid for a smaller park, with highlights being: Ride of Steel Tantrum Viper The Predator Plus lots of other fun rides scattered throughout the park. As for the waterpark, it was just okay this time. The Lazy River is fairly basic, and two of the more popular slides were running slowly, causing bottlenecks. Not sure why, but the water was freezing cold, especially on slides like Tornado, still a great ride, but would've been more enjoyable with slightly warmer water. Yes, the park is a bit dated in areas and could use some TLC, but despite that, Darien Lake continues to be a lovable and worthwhile spot.
