2025 season. Guests have to walk through security at the entrance and then tickets. As season pass holders our first visit and stop is at first services to pick up mugs. The lines move slowly. They either need more employees or a faster processing speed. We wanted to pick up our 3 mugs. The service agent scanned our badges, grabbed the fast passes, and then said all set. I asked about our mugs. Mugs need to be picked up at the food stands now. This took 10 minutes as the guests the agent was helping. Why it took that long to scan, click ok, grab passes, idk. I was not happy that I had stated I'm here to pick up mugs and the agent didn't bother telling me about the mugs until the end of this transaction when I asked, on the mugs? If they had just told us, we were not worried about the fast passes or scanning our badges. We wouldn't have waited in line or congested the queue. The park is clean and easy to navigate. Some of our favorite coasters were closed but that seems to be a reoccurring issue the past few years. Staff at rides and shops are friendly and helpful. This is typical of the start of the season. At the end of the season, the staff tend to get rude and worn out. The park is cashless. My family has been to a few six flag locations and other amusement parks. I appreciate the ride attendants taking their time and being efficient, but what I observed this season was not valuing guests time. Way too long in queues and transitioning between on/off the ride.

I personally haven't been here in at least 20 years, it's been about 24 years for my husband. We loved this place as kids/teens. I was skeptical about this park as we had JUST gone to the San Antonio, TX Six Flags (which was AMAZING)... BUT, we have to say, we had a pretty awesome day here at Six Flags Darien Lake. There are so many rides from our childhood like the Viper, the Predator, the Corn Popper, the Silver Bullet but there are new ones as well like the Tantrum, the MotoCoaster, Shipwreck Falls and a bunch of kid rides. We had a Platinum season pass so I can't comment much on ticket prices... my sister in law and her 3 kids paid about $175 for 4 day passes plus parking. What I can comment on is food, game and merch prices... ASTRONOMICAL. Games are $6 for one throw and $12 for 3. Ummm... no thanks. We didn't get food but fried dough was $13.50, beers around $18, burgers/fries were around $22?? Needless to say, we brought a cooler and went out to the car to fuel up and headed back into the park afterwards. The waterpark looked pretty cool but since it was like 75 and a bit rainy, we didn't head over there. All workers were friendly. The main negative (aside from prices), was that some areas are looking pretty rundown. We found out ahead of time the Grizzly Run was closed (sad face) but they left it and it's all overgrown and dumpy. Many of the buildings are showing wear with needing bc paint and wood rot repair. Other areas were overgrown with grass and weeds. Just a bit disappointed with the upkeep of the grounds. There is a batting cage over by the Grand Prix that is still standing but looks as though it hasn't been used in 20+ years. Not sure why it wouldn't be torn down. It's an eyesore. Anyways, we weren't expecting to stay until close but we actually stayed until close! Had such a blast! Hoping it's not another 20 years 'til our next visit.

As long as it's not a concert day I went 3 times this summer I have season pass and I enjoyed myself 2 out of 3 times the 3rd time I turned around and left after I got on one ride because the lines were unbelievable and it was way to crowded and if that wasn't bad enough they had some religious concert going on crowded and hot dose not mix with long lines that really sucked I'm happy I didnt have to pay for that because I have a season pass it was so not like the frist fun times I went do not go on a concert day it also closed at 7 instead of 9

The water park is where it's at, but everything is incredibly overpriced. $15 each smirnoff smash or Mike's hard lemonade even though they are $4 at Walmart. $12 for a tiny locker. $25 to park your car. Expensive tube rentals... Wave pool is fun. They need more umbrellas though. I'm sure it's a tactic to make you buy more drinks. Fun slides.

Spent perfect summer day at Six Flags at Darien Center with a group of teenagers. I was able to sit by the wave pool and read for a good portion of the day while the kids had fun exploring the park. Being with teenage boys, I purchased the unlimited drink and dining package for them. Totally worth it. It's supposed to be a meal & snack every 90 minutes & unlimited drinks. Unfortunately they don't put many details on their website. Once that was figured out, the boys were fine. Service is extremely slow and not very friendly (just observation throughout the day). It's not like going to Disney or Universal. Lines are long, and employees seem like they'd rather be somewhere else. For example, two of the boys I was with played the basketball game. There was a line and after the two kids in my group were finished - they just closed the game. Cut off the rest of the line and people were not happy. It was 7pm! They saw there was a line and they didn't care. It's such an odd customer service business model. Same with getting drinks or food throughout the day. This was observed at many of the stations, but the one that comes to mind is when there were three people in the booth and one person was waiting on customers and two others were standing in the booth not waiting on anyone - there was a line and I could hear the guy behind me say 'are you kidding me? 3 people in there and only one is serving customers?' It's great entertainment. Safe rides. Kids have fun. However don't expect any good or great level of service.

Fall 2023 This year 6-Flags DL experienced a marked increase in quality. The food is MUCH better than in previous years. Sahlens hot dogs and Perry's ice cream have returned. The Italian sausge is great. Unlike the past few years almost all rides were operational every day. There's a new VIP lounge (Diamond pass gets in no extra fee). New VIP parking for Diamond pass holders. There were festivals and games, also new this year. Currently, Octoberfest is underway even though it's just September. There were lots of concerts and the huge Kiingdom Bound festival. There's a hotel, rental cabins, and camp grounds. The candy apples and fudge at the candy stores are well worth trying. The Beaver Brother restaurant and bar have seen big improvements, including a better buffet, plus grilled items, too. Of course, the rides and water park are always fun, too.

What kind of meal deals do they have at Darien?

How is fright fest this year? It's 28 bucks per person, so I'm on the fence with spending that much on the five of us. Pretty pricey.

It's about $12 per person extra to go to the haunted houses.

If you have season pass member ship from another state can you use it or you have to get a new one?

Your 2020 and 2021 season pass is good at all Six Flags parks. Their marketing says 2022 season pass is good only at your primary park. You need to get a subscription if you want to have access to multiple parks.

How long is Darien lake open from?

The day we went it was 11-7 but rides were closed down due to weather for about 3 hours.

I the water parts of the park open in october/september? my birthday is in october and i was thinking about having a weekend trip with my friends but if the water isn't open i'm not sure it's worth it

Go to Cedar Point instead. Worth the price.

Can you bring in water bottles?

    Yes

The rides operate on a rotated schedule. So half the rides are closed while the others run. Not a major problem. There's enough open to occupy families. I was shocked that the Wild West show is still going strong. A right of passed for every WNY child. Not sure if hearing gunshots from the kiddie area or water park is appropriate in this day and age but OK. The waterpark stole the show for me. There are slides or pools for every age. A small food stand with the usual fried food. It was clean. And there were lifeguards virtually every five feet. I felt very safe with my kids in the water (which was ice cold but refreshing on a blazing hot day). The train that goes around the park was enjoyable. Pretty cool can you use it for transportation from the camping lot all the way into the park. Do I recommend coming here frequently or buying a season pass? probably not. But I strongly recommend every family in the area stopping for a full summer day.

Multiple people in our group and others around us were stung while waiting. There was no way to get away from the bees, even in the ride lines. On top of that, many attractions and concessions were closed, leaving very little to actually do. When we brought concerns to management, there was no real help or solution offered. For the price of admission, this experience was unacceptable. I would strongly caution families (especially those with young children) to reconsider before coming here until these issues are addressed. It's absolutely not what it once was.

Which, if you're a mom taking a bunch of tween boys, is honestly quite perfect. I expect if you're a parent of a toddler it is also great but I can't speak to the tots section. Definitely go at 3 for the discounted price. There's not so much to do that you want to spend all day there, nor can you expect to picnic with your own food or find a lot of $$$ food for purchase (unless Dots and pretzels are your typical lunch). You do not need more than 3hrs at this park. You do need a ton of water and splurge for the locker for your valuables so you can leave a beach bag of towels and water on any of the many strategically placed shady loungers. There were no obvious water fountains or sunblock dispensers if that's what you're interested in finding at a place like this (lots of water for "employees only" though). The slides were all really fun, except the two hardcore ones which looked like a massive wedgie machine and an elbow cutter/bathing suit ripper, respectively. Stay with the inner tube options. You'll get plenty of exercise hauling those inner tubes up, but the group slide takes the tube up for you. Heaviest person will end up backward, so keep that in mind if the kids in your tube are complaining that they don't get to go backward and it's boring and you're breaking your neck trying to see the next curve and screaming "hold on! We're all going to die!" (Not me, obv, I was super chill and weigh less than a 12yo.) Maaaaaajor props to the lifeguards. The wave pool is rough with waves from each corner so you're just constantly swaying and a large deep end. The waves are turned off regularly so you can revive yourself for the next go around, but even still, it's easy to get sucked into the deep end and struggle if you're not a strong swimmer and just bouncing off the pool bottom to ride the wave. It's easy to get pulled deeper with each bounce until you can't touch. The lifeguards are stationed every 10' on each side and paying close attention- saw them rescue someone who'd just started that "I'm about to drown" look before any disaster occurred. I was in AWE. There was a lifeguard training happening the whole time we were there in every pool/slide and it was thorough and impressive. So important at a water park!!! One star off because the bathroom and shower area was pretty gross. Only one stall to change in, curtains didn't close, soaking wet floor, cold showers. Prepare accordingly. Also, the lazy river was NOT LAZY. Kids were being wild and shoving, which, fine, but mostly there are several long sections where you're basically fire-hosed and it is not great. Again, prepare accordingly, and maybe use the inner tube around your waist so you can walk through those sections to get through them faster.
