Six Flags Darien Lake has a nice setting with the lake of its name providing a pleasant backdrop to a visit here, particularly since we were fortunate to have great weather. We enjoyed exploring the variety of rides, though because our visit was at the end of the season, not all rides were available. Regardless, we had a great time. The Viper and the Predator were favorites from our visit. Lines were barely forming when we first arrived and kept moving nicely throughout the day. The kids area is very cute with a nice variety of rides. The staff we interacted with were all pleasant and helpful. I've been coming to Darien Lake since I was a kid, so this park holds a lot of nostalgia for me--and I was so glad I finally got to share it with my wife this time around! It's always been a charming, manageable park with reasonable wait times. You can easily hit both the amusement park and the waterpark in one day, which is a huge win. Compared to Canada's Wonderland, which I also grew up going to, we definitely prefer Darien Lake now. Wonderland's crowds are out of control, and it's just not worth the hassle anymore. At Darien Lake, you actually get your money's worth. The coaster lineup is solid for a smaller park, with highlights being: Ride of Steel Tantrum Viper The Predator Plus lots of other fun rides scattered throughout the park. As for the waterpark, it was just okay this time. The Lazy River is fairly basic, and two of the more popular slides were running slowly, causing bottlenecks. Not sure why, but the water was freezing cold, especially on slides like Tornado, still a great ride, but would've been more enjoyable with slightly warmer water. Yes, the park is a bit dated in areas and could use some TLC, but despite that, Darien Lake continues to be a lovable and worthwhile spot. I've been going here since the '80s and it used to be a really clean family-friendly amusement park. Went this past weekend and spent more than $600 for a queen hotel room (the cheapest available!) that had an actual turd on the carpet (presumably someone snuck a dog in; the staff actually told us "it happens all the time.") Housekeeping came to clean it up with no disinfectant or spray of any kind--she just picked it up in a piece of paper and then asked if there was "anything else" we wanted her to do. What the?!? We were given a $25 voucher that bought one rice bowl, and didn't even cover a soda with it, at the taco place. Aside from this disgusting incident, we were cut in line multiple times by thuggy inner-city kids who were prattling on loudly in Spanish and giving people dirty looks while they smoked vapes in line and littered their empty soda cans they smuggled in. Even the church group kids were cutting from the ends to the fronts of the long lines and pushing people out of the way. Zero supervision. The signs that say line cutting will lead to getting kicked out of the park are a joke. The staff is almost all young people who are up by the boarding area and were not concerned with how delayed the lines were, as the bratty and thuggy groups of kids were pushing people around to ride on the same cars together. The food was pretty bad and about $17-$20 an item. Paint chipping everywhere, TONS of trash littering the lake and other small water areas where the poor ducklings and fish were. Laser light show was even terrible, with some kind of "shark baby" YouTube video instead of the cool old laser animation of Huey Lewis, Purple People Eater, etc. read more

Darien Lake seems to care more about their rides now. Both Mind Eraser and Predator got some major upgrades, most rides I went on seemed to have a fresh coat of paint, and I guess it gives me hope for the future. The waterpark costing extra is still bullshit and the food is disgusting and overpriced. But I will say, you don't have to pay for parking with a concert ticket, which will become the new cheat code, especially considering lawn seats go for as low as $30. I'm cautiously optimistic for the first time with Darien Lake. read more

2025 season. Guests have to walk through security at the entrance and then tickets. As season pass holders our first visit and stop is at first services to pick up mugs. The lines move slowly. They either need more employees or a faster processing speed. We wanted to pick up our 3 mugs. The service agent scanned our badges, grabbed the fast passes, and then said all set. I asked about our mugs. Mugs need to be picked up at the food stands now. This took 10 minutes as the guests the agent was helping. Why it took that long to scan, click ok, grab passes, idk. I was not happy that I had stated I'm here to pick up mugs and the agent didn't bother telling me about the mugs until the end of this transaction when I asked, on the mugs? If they had just told us, we were not worried about the fast passes or scanning our badges. We wouldn't have waited in line or congested the queue. The park is clean and easy to navigate. Some of our favorite coasters were closed but that seems to be a reoccurring issue the past few years. Staff at rides and shops are friendly and helpful. This is typical of the start of the season. At the end of the season, the staff tend to get rude and worn out. The park is cashless. My family has been to a few six flag locations and other amusement parks. I appreciate the ride attendants taking their time and being efficient, but what I observed this season was not valuing guests time. We were in Buffalo for my daughter's graduation weekend and thought this would be fun. We went there yesterday for opening day and they were not prepared whatsoever. They only had one roller coaster running. We were there for 3 hours and only went on 3 rides. Waste of money as I spent $235 (5 tickets and 2 parking passes). We complained as the website said nothing about the rides not all being up and running and they said the rides are listed as "as available". Pretty lame answer. I personally haven't been here in at least 20 years, it's been about 24 years for my husband. We loved this place as kids/teens. I was skeptical about this park as we had JUST gone to the San Antonio, TX Six Flags (which was AMAZING)... BUT, we have to say, we had a pretty awesome day here at Six Flags Darien Lake. There are so many rides from our childhood like the Viper, the Predator, the Corn Popper, the Silver Bullet but there are new ones as well like the Tantrum, the MotoCoaster, Shipwreck Falls and a bunch of kid rides. We had a Platinum season pass so I can't comment much on ticket prices... my sister in law and her 3 kids paid about $175 for 4 day passes plus parking. What I can comment on is food, game and merch prices... ASTRONOMICAL. Games are $6 for one throw and $12 for 3. Ummm... no thanks. We didn't get food but fried dough was $13.50, beers around $18, burgers/fries were around $22?? Needless to say, we brought a cooler and went out to the car to fuel up and headed back into the park afterwards. The waterpark looked pretty cool but since it was like 75 and a bit rainy, we didn't head over there. All workers were friendly. The main negative (aside from prices), was that some areas are looking pretty rundown. We found out ahead of time the Grizzly Run was closed (sad face) but they left it and it's all overgrown and dumpy. Many of the buildings are showing wear with needing bc paint and wood rot repair. Other areas were overgrown with grass and weeds. Just a bit disappointed with the upkeep of the grounds. There is a batting cage over by the Grand Prix that is still standing but looks as though it hasn't been used in 20+ years. Not sure why it wouldn't be torn down. It's an eyesore. Anyways, we weren't expecting to stay until close but we actually stayed until close! Had such a blast! Hoping it's not another 20 years 'til our next visit. read more

As long as it's not a concert day I went 3 times this summer I have season pass and I enjoyed myself 2 out of 3 times the 3rd time I turned around and left after I got on one ride because the lines were unbelievable and it was way to crowded and if that wasn't bad enough they had some religious concert going on crowded and hot dose not mix with long lines that really sucked I'm happy I didnt have to pay for that because I have a season pass it was so not like the frist fun times I went do not go on a concert day it also closed at 7 instead of 9 read more

I've been coming to this park for YEARS and I've never had any problems. All of the sudden there's a new policy where anyone under 17 has to be accompanied by a chaperone 21+? Additionally, almost every ride was closed opening day, complete waste of a trip. They have every police officer in a 60 mile radius swarming the park acting rude as fuck. Tell me why they stopped me (19) and my friend (18) and demanded to see our chaperone, sir we are grown. Drove all the way out here AGAIN for them to tell us the park was "closed" as in nobody else could enter the park and everyone already in there had two more hours. Not to mention the staff at the gate let us in and said "park closes at 7". If the gate attendants are letting us in and telling us the park closes in 2 hours why are the pigs at the door not letting us in. At least advertise it so people don't waste their time and also gas in this economy. Never had any problems in the past, but all three times I've been here this season have been awful experiences. Spent perfect summer day at Six Flags at Darien Center with a group of teenagers. I was able to sit by the wave pool and read for a good portion of the day while the kids had fun exploring the park. Being with teenage boys, I purchased the unlimited drink and dining package for them. Totally worth it. It's supposed to be a meal & snack every 90 minutes & unlimited drinks. Unfortunately they don't put many details on their website. Once that was figured out, the boys were fine. Service is extremely slow and not very friendly (just observation throughout the day). It's not like going to Disney or Universal. Lines are long, and employees seem like they'd rather be somewhere else. For example, two of the boys I was with played the basketball game. There was a line and after the two kids in my group were finished - they just closed the game. Cut off the rest of the line and people were not happy. It was 7pm! They saw there was a line and they didn't care. It's such an odd customer service business model. Same with getting drinks or food throughout the day. This was observed at many of the stations, but the one that comes to mind is when there were three people in the booth and one person was waiting on customers and two others were standing in the booth not waiting on anyone - there was a line and I could hear the guy behind me say 'are you kidding me? 3 people in there and only one is serving customers?' It's great entertainment. Safe rides. Kids have fun. However don't expect any good or great level of service. read more

We stayed the weekend in a Guest House last weekend!! it was a great weekend and we all had lots of fun!! Just a couple things I want to touch on for the lodging. The mattresses in the guest houses need upgraded!! very uncomfortable!! Maybe could you go back to supplying towels and washcloths? that would be a wonderful thing. Fall 2023 This year 6-Flags DL experienced a marked increase in quality. The food is MUCH better than in previous years. Sahlens hot dogs and Perry's ice cream have returned. The Italian sausge is great. Unlike the past few years almost all rides were operational every day. There's a new VIP lounge (Diamond pass gets in no extra fee). New VIP parking for Diamond pass holders. There were festivals and games, also new this year. Currently, Octoberfest is underway even though it's just September. There were lots of concerts and the huge Kiingdom Bound festival. There's a hotel, rental cabins, and camp grounds. The candy apples and fudge at the candy stores are well worth trying. The Beaver Brother restaurant and bar have seen big improvements, including a better buffet, plus grilled items, too. Of course, the rides and water park are always fun, too. read more

An employee pulled aside my 13 year old brother and accused him of stealing a stuffed animal. Yeah, just a stuffed animal! I took my siblings on a trip to Darien for my brothers birthday today and a rude employee pulled him aside without my knowledge and began questioning him. And not just a brief question. Like not letting him leave questions. Thankfully I saw what was happening and got her to back off. Incredibly rude and unprofessional while my brother was a sweetheart the whole time. I will be calling customer service and escalating this because a random employee questioning a minor without parental consent or my consent? NOT OK Besides that. All of the employees at this park seem absolutely miserable and I don't blame it on them. This was a great park years ago but it is very obviously going downhill. read more

Season pass holders for a few years. If you go a few times a year, get the season meal pass. I don't know what the other people are saying here about the food, but it's pretty decent for a theme park, even more so if you find the good spots (Chicken wrap at Anchor, for example). Yes, it's expensive, but it's a theme park, and my family quite enjoys it. The salads are always good too. That food pass is a gem. As for lines, I've been a LOT this year, and had multiple days where nothing was closed, and lines were at most one ride deep for the front of most coasters. Go during a weekday in the AM - you have the time of your life. Saturday at 5? You're probably in for a big crowd. I love the EV chargers (though not happy they charge now but I get it). I haven't been here in years and let me tell you, you're not missing anything! Lines are sooo long I've been here for 4 and a half hours and I've only been on 2 rides. My husband took my son to another ride while I stay with our toddler. He's been waiting over an HOUR, called him, still waiting! They have no staff managing the lines so people are getting in front of others. They want Disney prices for a skip the line pass $250 extra PER TICKET! Staff is nice. You'll spend all day here for 5 rides. Bring your patience, a book, board game maybe while you just stand in line. I'm so glad we got the season pass while it was on "sale" or I would have been even more annoyed. This will be our last year, not worth it. We didn't even go to the water park, nor will we have time. I wanted to add something, the lack of line control. Numerous times groups of people would skip the lines...spoke to someone else that day, similar problems. At 9 PM the police were called to Darien lake for a group of hundreds of people in the front fighting. As our visit continued you can see the teens and young "adults" increasing around 5pm. It was our sign to leave even though we had only been on 3 rides in 5 hours. Darien lake has no control over their visitors behavior and not nearly enough security and enforcement of rules (and honestly common courtesy) to bring your family and feel safe. We will be renewing our Seabreeze season passes for the 4th year in a row now, even though they are double the price. read more

Two stars only because my six year old enjoyed the visit. He doesn't know any better. First they have this insane list of what you can or can not bring into park. Basically they want you to spend the full paycheck because the admission and parking aren't steep enough. First of all.. spray the park for bees. Twice a year would take care of your bee issue. This has to be a huge lawsuit in the making. Bees all over everything from the food, drinks, garbages etc. The all you can drink for a day package was 28.00.. are you people insane? Universal is less than 20 and there aren't bees all over the machines.. so gross. Positive side was the bathrooms were clean. A lot of the big rides were open but two of the roller coasters were down. It was a hot day and they had the lazy river closed. This was one of the only rides all of us could do tougher but it was closed all day. The icing on the cake was being denied food from the boardwalk area until an employee from a different area came to help. My son wanted pizza for lunch during lunch hour... so I stood there waiting.. the employees to stop goofing around in the other section of the restaurant. The girl came to the counter, we exchanged hellos and started to take my order.. looked at my necklace and walked away and refused to come back. I happened to be wearing a 1/2 inch star necklace in the shape of a badge. I had to wait for another employee. I am thankful for the pizza being in the display because I wouldn't trust this establishment to not taint my pizza. At almost 13.00 for a slice of pizza and a side of fruit this was ridiculous. It's a good park not gonna lie. The issues I have are with the hurricane harbor. Especially with the seating area. There's not a lot of umbrellas and everyone sprints towards it. Which is bad for the people who get overheated, like seniors, and it's not healthy. And some people want to have a nice vacation without having to run or pay to not get overheated. And this place is expensive as it is, so a lot don't have the money to buy the special areas where you don't have to run. Also, people take the entire umbrella area even if they aren't using the seats. Also, some bracelets there broke after a week. Just broke off of the wrist. This park has been on my list to get to for a wile and I finally made it here I couldn't have been more stoked on that! Let me start off by saying all of their associates I encountered were doing an awesome job for how understaffed they are and I get it I work at a park and this year is just as hard for us too! This was a coaster credit stacked park for me seeing that I haven't been here before which was cool because I got to ride everything a few times over which always makes for a good time. Their food here was awesome we went to Anchor Bar and had wings and a salad it was just as good as other locations I have been to in the past which couldn't have made for a yummier spicer day! There was a good amount to do here and the park was very well maintained for a Six Flags Park so that was cool and nice to see. Overall it was an amazing day and this is a super cool park to visit I just hope to make it back here again at some point to ride Ride Of Steel again and that was just an amazing coaster all in one! The "medical staff" at this amusement park is inept. A family member had a medical event and the EMT who responded was inept. None of her equipment worked. If it had been a serious medical situation the ineptitude could have been fatal. We notified management who blew off the situation and regurgitated corporate clap-trap nonsense language. Bought season passes for my kids so I can't say much about the ride or food selection outside of what they tell me. During the summer season, there was a lot of staff shortage and therefore some staff was rotated to open a ride and close another. Food is insanely expensive. Bought the drink cups and one of the lids broke on day one. My biggest aggravation was the hours (or lack of). Regular hours were 11-7pm weekdays, 11-9 weekends. My kids never made it to Frightfest (weekends) because they were closed on the two occasions that we drove all the way there. This was despite the website/Facebook page saying they were open. They do not have anyone who answers the phone during the off season so we were forced to drive there and find out the hard way. read more

Food is 20 bucks per slice of pizza or a burger and fries and they taste like cardboard. The water on shipwreck falls looks like Sh*t. Also the water fountains barely work. When it's 90° out and you need to cool off, Darien Lake is a great option! All of the water park was open and staffed. The lines weren't as bad as I thought they would be either. The only thing that wasn't great was the price of parking. That's a little high for me but it is the only theme park locally, so it makes sense. Locker prices were reasonable at least (20 bucks for a jumbo locker). No cash is accepted anywhere. A lot of rides were down including the lazy River. No direction on where to park or anything. Employees seemed to be present and that's the most you get out of them. So disappointed as I grew up with this park and worked there in my younger years. What happened? With the CF/SF merger we have started visiting Six Flags parks all over. We normally love smaller parks in general as they are generally well maintained, have great operations but low enough crowds you can get lots of rides in, and staff who pride themselves on their park. Unfortunately Darien Lake has none of these things. The park is in extremely poor shape and so many frustrating dead end walkways. Their operations were the worst I've ever seen in the chain. One train operations on every ride meant huge wait times despite low crowds. The staff was apathetic at best and often downright rude. They ignored teens cutting and pushing other guests in queues. We did encounter several extremely pleasant employees such as the nice lady who was first operating Moose on the Loose and later the Hornet ride. The merchandise selection is also terrible- why doesn't this park have any delight in theur rides and merch for Predator (a great ride) or Tantrum or ROS? Overall though this park is not one we have any interest in going back to. I sincerely hope they with the merger improvements are made to the team culture and more importantly operations and throughput of guests. One train operations + 3-5 minute dispatches means we had an absolutely miserable experience. read more

First off I can't express the happiness that knowing Darian Lake is back where it belongs under the 6 Flags banner brings. From quality to Events it's a HUGE improvement on the park and customer experience. The staff is always cleaning, watchful and making the extra effort that truely catapults the fun to new levels for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the Anchor Bar experiance, authentic , tasty quick and family friendly. Well done all about folks. Only thing That could be better is perhaps reign in on unaccompanied minors roaming the park unsupervised, they can get a but much. Looking forward to Fright Fest this October read more

If i could give this place a negative star i would. Their management is full of childish, skillless, non communicating people. Throwing my friend in circles, with multiple job positions, My friend whom applied at the hotel portion, did everything right, but their HR didn't do THEIR job and kept throwing my friend in circles and here and there, just to not get emailed nor called back. He applied at the waterpark for the lifeguard, got a call back & everything went in for TRIANING YESTERDAY ALL DAY 7/15 and he was ONE OF THE TWO PEOPLE THAT SHWOED UP JUST TO GET find out FIND OUT!! he didn't get the job. yall didnt even have the audacity to call and tell him or say why. do better. read more

I love this place! I've been coming here since I was a baby in 2004. It's become a family tradition for us to get season passes and come yearly. This truly is a perfect family-friendly destination. Employees are almost always very friendly and welcoming, except for those rare times where you may stumble across grumpy staff. Visitors are usually pleasant and the park is always kept very clean. Although this park is small, there's definitely still a lot to do! Water park is really nice, though typically very busy. I never get tired of this park -- it's my happy place for sure! Unfortunately, they keep raising their prices... hopefully they become more reasonable soon. read more
