I recently had a wedding reception. I heard they had what I needed to play music. I had a very good experience doing business with the sales reps. Made me feel confident in my rental decision and the price was fair. The equipment was very satisfactory, at least for a rookie, and easy to use after their short training demo. I will tell you that when you return the rental, they go over everything with a fine tooth comb which is cool because they do the same when you rent it. read more

I have posted numerous POSITIVE experiences I've had supporting local businesses from great service, this was not one of them. As a local consumer, and business owner, I have dealt with the public before and believe me I have had plenty of bad experiences with clients and positively resolved numerous issues from my business. This was my 1st time trading with Lesmens. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and we needed a speaker and microphone. There was confusion at the facility we chose and weather they had just a mic or speaker. A couple of days prior to the event, the speaker and mic was resolved by the event facility. I called Lesmens to inform them that their service was no longer required and requested a refund. I did sign Lesmens contract for the $150 rental. The answer was no as the 48-hour contractual notification time had expired. At this joyous moment in my life, reading the fine print was not high on my radar. I appealed to their greater conscience and suggested we split the charges as I agree some of it was my fault. The response was still no. I realize business needs to make a profit, but for something so minor as a $150 charge I felt it ridiculous. I will definitely pursue other local venues for my electronic requirements in the future. $150 is a small price to pay for service, in comparison to the REPUTATION that goes a lot further than the measly profit on this order. read more

BEWARE! I have been a loyal customer for years. Never had any problems with service. In early February I purchased a desktop audio system for about $150. They had shown me another option for $500 and I was quite smitten with the sound quality of that one. Once I got home, I decided I needed to save some money and buy the higher quality $500 PA system. Ten days later, I showed up with a receipt and an unopened box with the cheaper version. Guess what? NO REFUNDS. I didn't see anywhere where this was posted. Their policy is no credit or refunds after 7 days---even if the box had never been opened and you have a receipt. I was quite upset and decided that I no longer want the more expensive piece either. I left with a sour taste in my mouth. I am sad and angry. read more

I had been looking all over town for some last-minute XLR cables I needed for an event and everywhere I looked locally they were out of stock. I decided to call Lesmen's. They had the cables in stock and for a great price. Christian the manager helped me and was extremely helpful on the phone and in person. The manager appears congenial enough. The vendor gets ample patronage to stay afloat, especially on weekends when people rent gear for a gig. There's an assortment of products: video, DJ, guitars, keyboards, etc. However, my assessment is the shop is oldskool, perhaps a bit out of touch with the latest trends. I've been in there looking for a Zoom F6 and newfangled timecode generator, but alas not carried. Perhaps that is because Albuquerque and Santa Fe filmmakers, per my exposure, are a bit oldschool themselves, doing a workflow that could be 10 years behind. I bought a headset for my fitness class and paid $200 for it at Lesmen's. A few weeks later, I found the EXACT SAME HEADSET on Amazon for $64! I brought it to Lesmen's attention, and they said, too bad, store credit only - "We aren't a Walmart!" I feel ripped off and will not go there again. I had better service at Guitar Center when I was purchasing different cords for my mixer I use in class. read more

Unfortunately, another example of what was once a friendly, family-owned business being ruined by becoming the only game in town. Their prices are ridiculous, the customer service is arrogant and apathetic, and their repairs and backline equipment are getting shoddier by the year. And just try to get some satisfaction when you pay $900 to rent a PA system that turns out to be broken. There actually are other options in town, folks... Grumpy's Guitars does topnotch amplifier and instrument repair and Grandma's has better prices and service for rentals. read more

The WORST customer service experience I have ever had. The employees are not knowledgeable at all. I was given incorrect information, lied to, and charged twice because the guy did not know the difference between a hold and a charge. When I returned the equipment, i spoke with management and they were the most rude management I have ever experienced. Please do not waste your time here. This place will be out of business soon. There are amazing online options for rentals that have much better customer service. Never again !!!!! read more

I loved working with Lance in the studio here at Lesmen's, and I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a professional recording experience. Typically, I am no professional, myself, when it comes to singing, but I wanted to record a thoughtful gift for my mom on my wedding day, and I couldn't be happier with my choice to come here for my session. The customer services is awesome, and I promise you won't leave this place disappointed in your final product. Definitely give Lesmen's a try, and if you can, hang out with Lance for a bit in the studio! He's a really cool, helpful guy! read more

Who has time for this? I'm taking the time because I need to let new prospective customers know. I have been signed to a major label in L.A., a mid-size label, and I've been a nobody musician. Through all of the repairs I've needed cumulatively, I have never been treated as poorly as I was by Lesmen's in this one encounter: *Brought them an SVT810E cabinet that I knew had one blown speaker on 01/23/18, asked them to have their repairman check it out for me. *Called repeatedly to get it done, had an upcoming tour of So Cal with one gig an outdoor concert: "too busy, hadn't looked at it yet, need to order one speaker/put it in, give us 1 1/2 mo.s!" *Playing gigs all over NM, some in large professional rooms, with my back-up rehearsal gear. *Finally forced them to give my cabinet back 05/08/18 (leaving on tour the next day) with the one speaker finally replaced and the repairman, who never called me before, saying I needed to give him more time as other speakers were weak! Not once had they called me to give me any updates in over three months, until the day before I picked it up. I had been friendly, polite, patient beyond the call of duty. Now I was livid. I told them that since 01/23 they'd certainly serviced their friends' equipment that was brought in after I brought in my cabinet and got theirs back to them in good time. Not the clerk, the manager, or the repairman standing there denied that. They reacted by looking down silently. I took it home that night. The speakers were buzzing so I had to take my low-level rehearsal gear on the tour. I don't know if they didn't like the color of my hair, the way I dressed, my last name, the original music my band plays. They wouldn't tell me what it was that put me on the backburner like that. They demanded the same payment as if the repairman had fixed it in two weeks. I marveled that they could treat a customer that way. The manager mumbled to me, "This company's been in business for 60 years." That was his answer! There's an organization that grew out of the South after the Civil War that has treated people with disrespect for 150+ years, so they have Lesmen's beat. So, if you don't use your poorly functioning gear and want to put it in a corner of their shop for four months, and you don't mind them choosing you to treat unfairly and not communicate with you, or you're one of their friends, by all means have them do your repairs (or not). But if you are not their friend, and that disrespect would bother you, look somewhere else as I am doing. The Lesmen's manager there said they don't need to treat certain people fairly, they have enough friends to keep them in the money without your business, for 60 years. read more
