I went here yesterday and it was not great. The workers were super pushy and wanted me to try on everything. I don't like when the workers ask if I like this or that, i like minding my own business. There selection is as not good, it was a lot of "Rock On" crop tops. When i saw this cute nike shirt i tried it on and liked it and then they came on the other side of the curtain and asked me to try on several things like 10 times and nothing they gave me to try on i didn't like but i felt bad. I didn't get the shirt because it was $58 i think for one shirt so i left and i felt bad though. read more

Emailed several days after I had placed order saying they had sold out of item. The customer representative was most unprofessional: "Good morning unfortunately The shorts are sold out which is why it was refunded. We did sell a couple of these the same time which is why we were not able to fulfill all orders my apologies in advance have a great day Sent from my iPhone". I dread going to this store every time. The manager, I think his name is Conrad or Scott, is the biggest asshole. The staff probably hates working for him which would explain any of their attitudes and I wouldn't blame them. Their selection of merchandise isn't bad, but good luck with who helps you. read more

I just recently moved to Roslyn, and I shop at the UES lesters often while I lived in the city. The nyc lesters is always a hot mess, but this place is just as bad. They have teen clothing so close to contemporary, I can never tell what will fit bc a large teen shirt looks like a medium adult size. Also, the last time I was there to purchase a pair of illesteva sunglasses, I had to wait like 15 min for this 16 year old cashier to open the display. The worst part is the clientele, all overweight northshore moms with zero manners. This one woman was yelling at the cashier to use my coupon when I was done with it, in addition to her own. I give two stars bc I am friends with one of the buyers, and it has all the brands I love without getting lost in Bloomingdales. read more

I will never shop here ever! And I will make sure that none of our friends and family support a store that denied entry to my medically exempt child that can not wear a mask! Not only they didn't offer personal shopping they denied ENTRY! I will file an official complaint as they discriminated against American Disability Act!!! read more

This store has such cute clothing! They have it all from clothes to shoes! I go in here every time I go away on vacation and every time I'm satisfied. It can be a little pricey but the clothing is worth it. They have a range of styles in the store as well. You can find something from cozy to sexy! Love the location of this store as well! read more

I had some things to return . I suppose this women was the manager helped me right away while the cashier was busy which was nice although she wasn't that friendly. However I shopped around while they held on to the clothes I wanted to return. One older women came over to assist me twice which was nice although i really didn't need help makes me feel she thought I looked Like someone who would shop lift , being that I was dressed down for that area. Prices are high but when it's 50 percent off you get really good deals read more

The discount wheel spin today is rigged. I asked them to put the arrow on the higher value discount. Pause. Then release. The wheel moved on its own because it was weighted and didn't allow the value to be obtained. Low. Low low. read more

I came in here for two reasons. 1. I never heard of Lester's. 2. It's right next to TJ Maxx. My first impressions of the store, employees, and their clientele....very snobby! I got the immediate minority treatment the moment they saw me and my wife browsing their clothing. It got too uncomfortable to shop so we decided to leave. We looked at a few items and found everything to be priced very high. We felt very uneasy throughout the entire time there because each section we browsed in, we can clearly see some of the staff members eyeballing us so it was best to just leave and not cause a commotion in unfamiliar territory. I don't routinely shop here and I was actually coming in to return something. The item was from several months ago and the manager was kind enough to give me store credit for the current price of the item which was of course on sale. The staff was almost overly friendly and super accommodating (almost as if they had read all the previous bad reviews and were trying extra hard to be be welcoming and kind). Most definitely will be back and by no means felt any of the snobbishness that many of the previous reviews alluded to. read more

Why is everyone who works here such an asshole? Every time I come to this store I get the silent treatment and the staff ignores me. I mean, how long do I need to stand around in the kids shoe department before someone decides to help me? The cashiers in the women's section are painfully slow and are too self-involved to notice the huge line of customers accumulating down the aisle. During my last visit I was waiting in line to purchase one item (a necklace from the women's dept), and as my toddlers started growing impatient they began acting up. I kindly asked one of the TWO cashiers that were helping the same customer if she could help me, when she told me to go to the register in the kids section. Literally, TWO people helping one customer, and instead of just ringing me up, she dismisses me and my two young children. If you see me struggling with two toddlers and you know it's going to be awhile and you have no intention of helping me, why not suggest I go to the kids section before I wait in line for 10 minutes? The cashiers in the kids section, however, were kind and much more efficient. I don't want any special treatment because I have kids, but there is something to be said about having awareness and doing the right thing. Not to mention just being efficient and knowing what good customer service is. The store carries a lot of good on-trend clothing, shoes, and accessories, so it's a shame that the staff has such a keen ability to help the customers they want and make the others feel out of place and unwelcome. Here's a tip: if you bring kids into the store stay away from the women's section unless you want to receive a lot of dirty looks and no assistance! read more

I first started shopping at Lesters when I did my daughters layette years ago. Now with 3 kids ranging in sizes 6x to preteen, there are very few stores where I can run in and get everyone what they need. Lesters is one of those stores! They have everything that my kids need ranging from casual to dressy. Back-to-school, camp, cruise wear, pajamas...shoes, sneakers, flip flops...accessories. You name it. They also have great gift items in all price ranges. The staff goes far and beyond to help me find sizes and often calls other stores if necessary. Also important to me is that the location is very convenient and there is usually no problem with parking. read more
