Lane 27 broke down on us at least 20 times in the hour we played and instead of just moving us to one of the many open lanes, they let us be inconvenienced the entire time as well as the employee that had to keep running back behind the pins to fix it. On top of that, the score keeping was inaccurate numerous times, which we also let them know but they didn't seem to care as they offered zero solutions. Certainly not worth the $70. read more

My friends and I have been here for both neon and regular 10 pin bowling in the last few weeks. The staff were very friendly, the prices were awesome, and there are lots of lanes and a variety of balls. There is also a small arcade and pool table room, as well as a lounge. You can bring your food and liquor to the lane which is nice. The music has some issues because it's streaming from the Internet so it cuts in and out sometimes. Also the seats at the lanes can be a bit annoying in how they function. The website doesn't work on my phone (didn't check on a PC) but the staff told me they were under new ownership so that could be why. Ultimately we love it here and can't say enough food things about Let's Bowl. We will be back again soon (I need the practice). read more

Bowling is one of those things that you forgot how fun it is until you actually start doing it. Then you instantly become flooded with hundreds of childhood memories and can't remember why you don't do it more often. That's why, as a way of being more social, my friends and I decided to join a league and bring bowling back into our lives. It is like JT's Sexy, but with big balls. Wait...that sounds bad. I actually really enjoyed Let's Bowl because it was a really great size, the lanes were pristine and the screen above the lanes played fun cartoons if you got a strike, spare or missed the pins all together! The only downfall is more to do with the league than the actual bowling alley. There are some INTENSE bowlers out there and apparently our group kept breaking the rules. There are rules to bowling?! Who knew? Fun fact: You can't be in your lane if the person beside you is about to bowl. It distracts them? Really? How do these people drive? But we didn't let the leagues keep you away from Let's Bowl. If anything else you get to throw a ball and smash stuff. What more could you ask for? read more

The place was jammed packed on a Saturday night, over an hour wait and that's a good thing because it means they are doing something right...considering this place has over 30 lanes. The attraction you ask? Well glow bowling of course... the whole place is lit up with lighting so that you can't see your friend's face that well but their teeth are sure glowing like a Cheshire cat. My Nikes look wicked in this lighting! The cost is $50 an hour per lane and $5 if you want your bowling ball to glow in the dark; the whole place is decked out really space age too. There are nice lanes and nice seating areas around your electronic score machine. I noticed that it attracted tons of diverse age groups and ethnicities as well. Last night it was full of families, friends, and couples. I really want to come back when it isn't so crowded. This deserves no stars. I tried to have an intelligent and humane conversation with the rep behind the counter and it went no where. Scenario - we were 10 mins late for our reserved lanes (from 2 weeks in advance) and the woman behind the counter screamed at us for being late and indicated "I'm not taking your fucking criticism! I've been to this bowling alley quite a few times and it was always an ok experience. Nothing special but nothing bad either. It was bowling. Last week though we booked four lanes for 17 people. It was a birthday party and we were all planning on having drinks and food as well. My friend booked on the phone for 7:30 and was told that four lanes was probably best and they would make sure it worked since we were bringing in such a large group. I didn't speak to them but it sounded like they were awesome. Turns out they were making up the reservation because they won't take any reservations after 7. We got to the alley around 7:30 (possibly a few minutes late) and they had already given one of our lanes away. While the friend who had booked the lane was talking to her and turned to explain the situation she proceeded to give another lane away and said "If you want to play it will be an hour". Not sure if you've ever been in this area but an hour means you either kill it in a sketchy part of town (with not much around) or you sit in their uncomfortable chairs and wait. Neither is positive. We asked he why she would give them away and she said that it's policy to give them all away after 7:10. We explained we had a reservation and she said "I don't care, it's policy. Not my fault or problem". I told her that we're the customers and if there was a mix up that's fine but it was her problem because we were given incorrect information. I gave up when she told me "I don't care it doesn't matter, I'm just following policy." The birthday girl then said to her "You know we're here to spend money and have a good time, you really should try to be a bit more polite when things like this happen". Her reply was "I don't need your fucking criticism. You were late I don't care" (or something like that). Someone needs to teach the employees here how to deal with customers. As bowling alleys go, the equipment and lanes are in good shape and they have a fair amount of lanes. Their website is a bit confusing though when it comes to times public bowling is available,"Due to league play, there are times where no lanes are available for public play. Public bowling is available for the following times subject to lane availability:" Sunday Noon to 10pm Monday Noon to 11pm Tuesday 9am to 11pm Wednesday 9am to 11pm Thursday 9am to 11pm Friday 9am to 1am Saturday 9am to 1am I called one Sunday and they said that public bowling is available starting at 4pm due to league play. Then why state the noon to 10pm time? Why not change it to 4pm to 10pm? I called to politely let them know the website was a bit confusing to me. The lady wasn't listening and kept trying to convince me it was clear. This lady clearly needs a lesson on customer service. We decided to go to Century Casino/Bowl instead. read more

Probably the best bowling alley I've ever been to. It's in a sketchy part of town, in what appears to be a very nondescript set of industrial buildings, but don't let that fool you. It's everything a bowling alley should be! They have 10-pin and 5-pin bowling, a pro shop where you can buy shoes, bowling balls, wrist braces, whatever you want for bowling. They have an arcade that has pool tables. They have a cute little lounge with lots of tables and chairs, and they have a separate food counter. It's pretty much everything a bowling alley should be, and is clean and well-kept. A lot of thought went into it, I think. A must-do is the glow bowling. Check the website's schedule for league nights and avoid those -- you can't really manage to get a lane during league nights. This place is generally always busy because it's nice and good. read more

It's funny, but every time I've ever gone bowling in Calgary, it's been at Let's Bowl. I don't know why that is, but there you go. I mean, I can't complain. This location has everything you need. From a Pro Shop to pool tables to a bar and to a reasonably priced concession stand with a Pizza Hut Express, it's a one-stop shop for everything you need to enjoy a nice night out bowling with your friends. It's been around for as long as I can remember (I recall going on field trips here in.junior high), so they must be doing something right. Ahhhh bowling! Inspiration for a number of excellent comedies over the years. There is Kingpin. A movie worth watch just to see Bill Murray's comb- over flap in the wind. And there is The Big Lebowski where you don't f@#k with the Jesus! Anyways, after some explosive Thai food I found myself at Let's Bowl as a part duex to Angelo's T's Thai if I want to UYE. Good choice my friend! Honestly I had a blast here. From the cheesy dark lighting and the constant low-tech lazer effects show to the random high-pitched bursts of celebratory excitement from those that get a strike, I think if I had to show aliens one of the best things about humanity it would be bowling (along with weddings). Everyone here looks happy and like they're having fun! Nobody bad-mouthing each other save playful jest among friends, no egos that are tainting our collective consciousness (R.I.P Bill HIcks) just pure light-hearted concentration on knocking over those pins! What do we look for in a bowling alley? First, equipment and how they maintain their lanes, etc. This venue is A+ and is probably the best in the city as far as their equipment goes. However, unless you are in a bowling league knowing that your performance will influence your team's standings, you COME THERE TO HAVE FUN! One of the main ingredients of fun is cutomer service. I have not had great customer service experience there. NOPE. But oh well. A pitcher of beer and you don't have to worry about the staff being frankly rude at times (before the pitcher, lol). I will still come back there... But I would let my boyfriend to do all the talking. He has much more resistance to poor attitudes. read more

Let's Bowl has been a regular event in our lives for quite sometime. Not having been here for a long while, we went with some friends to rekindle our love for Let's Bowl. Glow bowling is a must go. It does get very busy these days and they do not take reservations after 7pm. So get there early. We didn't, and it was going to be an hour wait. So we put a name down on the list and went into the lounge for some drinks. The servers in the lounge have a history with us, they can be really grumpy, or really nice, it depends on when you catch them. This time, the woman was pleasant. Their drinks are affordable at $5 a highball. You can get a pitcher of beer for $13. After waiting a bit, we lined up and payed for our lane. It cost us almost $25 per couple for 2 games. They keep this place really clean. The black lights and strobe lights give it a really fun feel. They tend to play great music. We always pick themed names for each player, this time was comic characters. We had a blast, as we have always had here! Our love for Let's Bowl was rekindled. It has changed in small ways over the years, but it still remains a fun place to go have some beer, a poutine, be a bit geeky and bowl a few games! read more

I haven't been bowling in ages. But there are still plenty of folks out at Let's Bowl keeping the lanes busy on a Saturday night. Be prepared for about an hour's wait for a lane if you're there around 9pm. Thankfully, there's a bar area to hang out in while you wait. Once you get a lane, it's as fun as your group makes it! Let's Bowl has well maintained lanes, it's clean, and it's got automatic scoring so you don't have to remember how much each pin value is worth (keeping score was the one thing I always had the most trouble keeping track of!). When organizing a staff holiday party, it might not be a good idea to leave it to the new person in town. I had reservations about a bowling party in the middle of nowhere in the NE, but it came together well. It actually turned out to be located pretty close to the lights of Marlborough Mall (though it was still quite dark by the time you got to the building), and the majority of the staff made it for an evening of pizza, beer and bowling. It was clear that I had the worst (or alternately the most professional) form in the group, and my patented leg movements were imitated to great hilarity, but not much results. I bowled a 164 (my second best score ever!), and soon people realized my technique is that of a seasoned pro. I didn't make many friends that night! Sometimes when I've had a hard day at work I like to walk over with some friends, drink Richards Red and have fun. It's super easy to get to: 3 minute walk from the Marlborough Ctrain station. Even though its in a sketchy part of town it's always been a nice expierence, you'd never know you were in forest lawn. The lanes are nice, well kept and there's no paper counting! Not in the Northeast - it's all computerized and on screens and stuff for all you who care :) easy to use and I recommend taking a trip back to grade 5 and writing dirty words as screen names - - - - or is that just us? ;) Cheap beer - $15 a person per lane. Kinda pricey I find, back home you can rent a full lane for $20 // but its close and we always have fun when we go. However, that being said the staff always act like they hate their jobs. When you approach the lady to buy another lane she acts as if your bothering her. I always send my husband up - Just don't go into "let's bowl" hoping to strike up a conversation with the employees. This is a standard bowling alley. I'm not really sure how else to qualify it. There are shoes, lanes, balls, ok food, and decently priced beer. There are enough balls for a variety of groups and the price is pretty standard for this sort of thing. I believe there is also cosmic bowling on Friday? nights but I am not sure so definitely check before you go. If you like bowling, this is a pretty standard place to go and it's not far from the C Train, so it seems like a convenient spot. The food is ok and the beer is decently priced - I don't expect much else from bowling alleys. There is also a shop to buy bowling gear, but you can also get a lot of that online these days so I'm not sure how the value compares. It's hard for me to say much else - if you want to go 10-pin bowling this is a decent place to visit. read more

The experience we had here today was absolutely horrible. The lady at the front desk was so rude to my client and I. I was so disgusted with her attitude. From the moment we walked in she had a bad attitude and made me feel like I was in the wrong for being there. When I asked if we could have the bumpers up for my client and she told me no because she assumed we would "break the bumpers" I will never return to this bowling alley because of her. Was looking to bring my company here for some team building. I have been here once before and remembered that they have a pizza hut express. Having a craving for pizza, I called 30 min ahead to place a pick up order as well to pick up information on bringing in a group next month. I show up and it took about 10 minutes before somebody greeted me at the concession counter. Asking for my pizza, I get the dumb deer in a headlights look. She argues with me that I did not place an order here. Some other lazy customer service person stands up from behind another counter with a book in hand, and says "oops i forgot to tell her to make it" 1. you lost my business for good 2. Horrible customer service! Got there at 7pm. I booked weeks in advance for a birthday party. The woman on the phone said we could have the lane from 7-11pm. Three of our party arrived at 7. We played two games. At 8 15, they assigned our lane to another group. We went up to the till and the rep informed me, "you haven't bowled in hours, it you don't bowl, you don't get to keep your lane" I countered that we were a party and ended up having to pay for the lanes so we could wait for the remainder of our party who arrived at 8 30. They brought some chicken wings that we didn't order. Nobody said anything because it was obvious the organization in the joint was pathetic. They must have realized eventually because two reps approached is and said, "so, those wings weren't for your lane." Then kind of stared blankly at us. Then since we hadn't ate any, they asked the table who the wings belonged to if they could take them off our table and give them back. The table basically told the reps that the thought of that was gross at it wasn't happening so they were forced to remake the wings. Customer service here is horrible. The lady in the front is so rude. She has zero customer service. She looks angry all the time and does not seem to like her job. She ignores customers while she is sitting in front of the computer. Was in the city over the weekend and came here to spend some time with the family. Place is big with and has lot of lanes. It was busy on Saturday but we didn't have to wait. I can believe the 1 star rating complaining about the rude reps. My own experience isn't nearly as bad, but the reps helping me is.... apathetic at best. It's like they are being over worked or something. Otherwise decent bowilng alley. Not much to complain about. It's in the middle of nowhere but the price is quite cheap. Unfortunately, a very bad recent experience at Let's Bowl. My family and I had a birthday celebration there and it was going fine until the manager came and yelled at our party in front of our kids and other customers. It was our mistake that we brought some homemade appetizers in with us, and he came over to notify us of his policy of 'no outside food allowed' but instead of calmly or politely asking us to remove the food from the premises (As really, I think would have been good customer service still) he yelled at us to "GET IT OUT OF HERE" and yanked a serving of the appetizer out of the hands of one of my family members and proceeded to stuff it back in the container we brought it in and frantically tried to cover it with the tin foil. He still then continued to yell at us, despite us telling him hat we understood and we heard him. In his rage, he stepped on the foot of my aunt, and intimidated my cousin, saying "you stay out of it. You think you're so smart but you're not. " when she tried to tell him to calm down. All we wanted to do was to celebrate my cousins 5th birthday and that manager ruined it not only for us, but for everyone who was around us too (tables around us said he was 'rude'). I wish things could have gone better and my cousins birthday not marred by such an event that was uncalled for. Please, do not go here looking for a great customer experience, because all you'll get is a big quail sticking his chest out and beaking off who calls himself a manager of this establishment. read more

Great place! Terrible experience. Consisting of everything you would expect in a bowling alley, you would expect it to have great customer service as well, but this is far from the case. The ever-present frown on the face of the lady behind the counter will likely be the first thing you are greeted with after you reach the front desk. Let me tell you fellas, this frown is not just for show either! The brash and unaccommodating tone she takes when talking to her makes it seem like she doesn't even want you there. I would not recommend anyone to go to this bowling alley there are a lot of better places to go in Calgary that have better specials. The staff is extremely lazy, you could be sitting in line for at least 15 minutes before the staff realize your there, while they stare off into space. As well the staff is extremely rude and un-helpful. I went there with my fiancé for an evening and got harassed for nothing. We asked for a smaller ball because I have arthritis in my hands and the other balls hurt my hand. They made it extremely difficult to get one, arguing with us that we are not allowed to use one because we are going to throw it around. When we were playing they had the other staff hovering over our table to make sure that we weren't throwing it around. Right before we finished our two games they took the ball away for no reason. I would never go back to let's bowl again, it's just a bunch of kids running the place with attitude problems and they could really care less about the customer. read more
