    18th hole!
    Vanessa M.

This is a hidden gem! Although it is a bit dingy, its dark so you can't tell. It's about $13/per person to putt 18 holes. There are arcade games as well. The concept is very cool how everything glows. Some of the holes could have been thought out better and the holes are on the same pathway as the next.. so often times you have to wait for the people ahead of you to complete 2 holes or else they are standing on your green. All in all, a pretty good time to entertain kids.

This new activity centre recently opened up. The big attraction is the glow mini golf, but they also have an arcade area, and a kitchen with the basics. The arcade games issue tickets which can be redeemed for prizes at the counter. Their space has two party rooms for birthday parties or corporate event. They don't have a liquor license so don't get too excited all you kids at heart. The mini golf is fun. Its not overly challenging, but enough to keep a parent's interest through the hour ordeal. There's a few obstacles on the holes like a clock tower to get your ball through without hitting the pendulum, blasts of air pushing your ball away from the hole, and elevated holes. The staff seem pretty engaged. They call you monsters and they are the mad scientists. There's a few staff wandering through the course asking trivia questions. If you answer the question correctly they give you a beaded necklace which you turn in at the end for 25 tickets to spend at the prize counter. They also have a DJ booth at the back of the course with staff making various announcements. Overall it was a fun time.

Gonna start by being honest - I am not a fan of mini golf. I find it boring and takes too long and people get to serious and its just boring. Surprised I didn't feel this way after playing here. Went with a groupon - great deal as its a little expensive. But also not sure how much mini golf costs anywhere else in Calgary so maybe I am wrong. After getting the tools we needed, got briefed on etiquette before starting. LOVE that they have a 5 shot maximum for each hole and then your turn is over and you move on. Helped keep the game moving and from people building up behind one another. The decor is pretty awesome and the holes vary in difficulty. Found that because the game moved everyone was way less serious about it and it just became fun. After 18 holes we were asked to declare who we though was the worst player - and that person got a coupon for a free game next time they came back. Awesome idea cause we would probably never come back but a free game will insight interest. They also have a party room that you can rent out or you can book out the whole space. According to their website they also do weddings...

Super fun place for date night or night out with friends. This glow and the dark mini golf is nicely decorated with amazing artwork with a sleeping ogre and haunted tree that moves and talks. A good deal if they have a Groupon online.

This was absolutely awesome! The staff were so nice and my family and I are definitely coming back! The course was cool and I loved the lights. I would recommend this place to anyone anytime!!!

Eh. It's a place to play mini golf in the dark. It's dank inside and nothing particularly special.

Part of the experience is that, with the purchase of tickets, you can go into the capybara enclosure and meet the capys, feed and pet them. We are big fans of capybaras, we saw them in person at the Edmonton zoo, and follow many accounts on Instagram, but this was our first time meeting and petting them. They are super relaxed and super friendly. We had the opportunity to feed them fruits and greens, which was so funny!! We then visited the kangaroos and wallabies. Both were friendly, soft and used to humans. We visited with them, and fed them foods. We visited and interacted with the sheep and alpacas, which were also nice to see and pet. The staff of the park were very friendly and professional, and answered any questions visitors would have about animals. The ambiance was very nice - visiting with the animals, having a snack or busy with the games, it was a great day to enjoy the outdoors and animals!!

The play structure I was told (9,11 & 12yr old) was pretty fun and I like that there was a smaller one for kids 5 and under as well as the big one. There is a variety of activities but all on the 'small' side and all cost extra. Eg mini gulf quite mini, 'arcade' 4 out of the 9 are out of order. Bowling is extra money as well. Extra 'adults' cost extra too. Severely understaffed, not enough help at the front or at the concession stand. Where it took 20mins to get a small very cold serving on fries and simple not very good sandwich. When returning the cold fries apologies were given that they would get hot ones out in 5mins and bring them to me. Over 10mins later we went to find out where they were and there sitting, getting cold were our fries with no employee to be seen. Not enough sitting for parents, many people standing or defensive over their tables/chairs to a point of yelling for their kids instead of risking losing there spot. Overall the kids all lost interest within a short period of time and at approx $44 (before extra cost games and food) it's not likely we will return any time in the near future.

I told myself that the last time would be "The last time", but a 5 year old wants what he wants and…read moretoday he and his buddy really wanted to go to the play place by our house. Close and convenient for me, but today was the last time I will walk in the door. I have gone here with my boy a couple of times and found it to be Sub-par for more than a couple of reasons. First of all - I can understand the "No outside food" rule- they want to make money just like everyone else, but the food is terrible and over priced. Seriously....how do you mess up a cup of black coffee!!!??? Easy fix, eat before you go and don't buy their food and all is good. That I can live with. Second - I can understand the "Kids must wear socks" rule - I think that that is a great idea to keep your kids feet at least a little cleaner, but whatever you do, don't think about their hands!!!!! BRING HAND SANITIZER!!!! Oh, and make sure that they don't touch their face. The place really smells!!!! In all fairness, if you put a bunch of sweaty kids in a room and it is bound to have a sent, but WOW it is bad in there. It smells like someone peed in the ball pit!!! On top of everything else, it just "feels" plain old dirty from the second that you walk in the door to the point that, as and adult, you don't want to touch anything. I could even live with that - kids are gross, especially little boys!!! They get dirty all of the time, but there are limits to what you want to expose them to. One more note one the "Socks" rule. There is a sign that clearly states that they would prefer that you don't wear your outdoor shoes. Perfectly understandable!!! Who wants muddy, dirty, wet boots traipsing all over the carpet where kids are running all over the place, but god forbid...... DON'T BRING SLIPPERS FROM HOME!!!!!!!! You see, I don't walk around my own house in socks. I will either be barefoot or in slippers. I'm a fully all grown up 300lbs 42 year old man and I feel that it would be perfectly reasonable for me to bring slippers....nope!!! The staff will look at you like you just walked into their house and kicked their dog. This was today and the reason that I walked out. I'm just glad that I had not paid yet. Third - The staff.......I would like to give the staff a piece of, hopefully, useful advice- IF YOU HATE KIDS, DON'T WORK IN A PLACE FULL OF KIDS!!!!! You would think that this is self explanatory, but apparently it is not. It is exceedingly easy, simply don't give a kid a filthy disgusted look for running around screaming like a nutcase when you cater to a demographic that run around screaming like little nutcases. The kids won't notice, but I notice!!!!!! For that matter, I'll take it one step further.... IF YOU HATE PEOPLE IN GENERAL, DON'T WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I don't mean to be rude, but come on!!!!!! Don't look at me like I'm interrupting your work when I need assistance.........I AM YOUR WORK!!!!!! In the end.....skip that noise and go to that other place near by. I don't want to say the name of the place, but it starts with a "T" ends with a "K' and the middle rhymes with "ommy". They cost more and have all of the same rules, but actually seem to like people and don't get bent out of shape if you want to wear your slippers.

There are some rules that guests don't want to obey, and when your employees-youths tried to explain the rules, they got cornered, yelled at and even threatened with guests hands up to them.  That is so unacceptable and there needs to be more older supervisors and managers to help your employees-youths and not allow anybody to treat them as a shit.  Employees-youths at Calaway park have been paid minimum wadge and should be treated with all respect as anybody else in this country. Something must be done about these issues - as a society and as Canadians, we should protect our employees, especially youths-kids while working at such a place. They should have more protections at the work then 18-year-old supervisor, who got yelled as well for half an hour by the same people. If we don't do anything about it, we fell as a society.

It was Fall when we last went and, it was so cold (wind) on the rides. If you go in Fall, bring gloves/mittens. Lines were longer this time. Park was clean. We loaded up with our own sandwiches, snacks and water. It was easy to manage as we could snack through out the whole day. It was easier since we prefer healthier options too. Admission is $51.95 plus tax. We went after 2pm and paid $35.95 each. It was busy and we didn't get on as many rides as the first time. The first time (2017), the after 2pm rate was half or close to half-off. Like the hand sanitizer at each ride, though I didn't see anyone using it. I had an immunocompromised guest so we just 'sanitized' with a sanitizing wipe as we went around. Saw one staff member wiping down a ride. Lots of places to sit and rest. If you have mobility concerns, you can rent a wheelchair. I think a mobility scooter would be so much more efficient. Notice the Gift Shop is open to 7:15 pm so you have a bit of time once the rides stop to have a look around. Bring cash if you want to play the games or do the bonus activities. It was ok. Kids loved it.

It's a new facility, so the equipment is new and in great condition. There are many different play structures for kids to have fun on; both my three year old and my seven year old can easily spend more than two hours there without getting bored. There are really only two negatives I can think of. One, the price of some food is a bit high. Not outrageous mind you, but $24 is a bit on the high side for a large pepperoni pizza and two drinks. Thankfully the drink refills are free. They have a variety of items, so you can pick what your budget allows. The second negative is the arcade. It has all new games, but yikes, they are expensive. We spent $10 on a game card, got 24 tokens, and blew threw them in less ten minutes. Most of the games are six or eight tokens - a few are four - so your token credits go fast. And the games are over in a matter of seconds. One in particular drops a single ball, costs six or eight tokens, and it's over in about five seconds. Their arcade should have more games that are less expensive and last longer for kids to play. The tickets you earn on games are tracked digitally - that's slick, no waste - and can be exchanged for your typical cheap trinkets. But the kids have fun "shopping" with their tickets, so it's fun for them. Despite the two complaits above, I'd still highly recommend this place to anyone with kids who's looking for an affordable way to entertain them for hours.

The admission price was great. About $13 for children and we arrived at 7pm and received 10% off! That was an added bonus. The jungle theme of the playground is fun! I noticed at least 8 private party rooms. Separate toddler areas looked fun! The food selection was great! We had juice boxes $1, fruit salad $7 (fresh! Not canned) and tea $3.50. I noticed people around me having pizza, fries, poutine and sandwiches. It all looked delicious. But the best part was the actual playground. Right off the bat I noticed this massive climbing wall (soft walled, trampoline like fabric) with a huge slide! It looked very exciting. The kids just flew down that slide. It reminded me of my childhood. The ball pit had a tube that kids put balls in and it sucked the balls up to a bucket above their heads. Then after awhile the bucket dumps the balls on the kids. My daughter thought this was hilarious. We are looking forward to spending many hours here during our cold winter! Perfect Friday night.
