One of only a few mexican food choices on the island. We were craving a change of pace from typical Portuguese food while on our vacation, and we decided to try this place because of the great reviews. We are from California and used to California-style mexican food. I ordered a wet burrito with chicken while my travelling partner got a regular chicken burrito. Both meat options (chicken and beef) are boiled and fork shredded. The sauce on the wet burrito gave the burrito more flavor and was monster than the regular burrito. All in all, the food was OK, and checked the something different box. Service was very friendly, and the waitress spoke English well. We are California residents, neighbors of Mexico. We are VERY particular of our authentic Mexican food. We are not loving Portuguese food. We love the country and the Island, but the food has not been our favorite. This place; Let's Go Mexican, is amazing! Highly recommend. Regular Margaritas, on the rocks are delicious! 4 adults in our group, tried burritos, enchiladas, and tacos, all great! And chips and guacamole were different, but quite good. read more

Outstanding Mexican/American food in the middle of the ocean :). We had a little of everything: First the chips and dip (trio). The chips were amazing. Fluffy fried goodness and the quac and hot sauce was delicious (we are vegan so we didn't try the sour cream). Second the pitcher of margaritas: made by the owners daughter (who was a great waitress and helped us navigate our complicated order). The passion fruit margarita was really good. Very sweet but good nonetheless. Then the burrito: they were super vegan friendly and subbed the meat for some caramelized onions and peppers. The hot sauce was really tasty and spicy and the rice and beans were just like you'd get it a standard Mexican restaurant in the US (delicious). My wife had the veggie tacos and we should have added more rice and beans to the tacos as well. The rest of my family had a lot of other dishes: chicken enchiladas, beef burritos, quesadillas. We ended up here because many of the "recommended" restaurants in Ponta Delgada were fully booked. So happy we made the short 10 minute drive from the center to visit. The service was excellent, margaritas were delicious, and the food was great. Had the enchiladas (if you pick spicy, it is about medium spice) and my fiancé had a the burrito- both were very tasty and decent portion size. Prices were good for the food. WOW!!!! My family and I came here from California and being from Cali I wanted to try the Mexican food here. I read the reviews prior to going and was skeptical because we're neighbors to Mexico and have been spoiled with authentic Mexican food. But anyways, I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! The tacos were amazing!!! The meat was so pure and organic. We also had the burrito, chip and dip. We were so hungry we forgot to take a picture....my apologies. The tortillas were made differently but still amazing. The chip and dips were BOMB!!!! So airy yet super crunchy. The rice was also very different. It was a much bigger grain but still amazing. I can't really compare the authenticity because the food of the land is different. All I know is that this place is worth every euro. I do have one minor complaint which might be a native cultural thing, they have business hours but aren't really true to them. We got there at time of said opening but we had to wait 25min after the time open posted to go in because the cook wasn't ready. I didn't mind though...I was on vacation and in no hurry. This little diamond in the rough was an absolute godsend. After a long day of hiking we couldn't have asked for anything better. Being from California we are accustomed to authentic Mexican food and this little gem did not disappoint. Everything we tried was excellent and hand made fresh to order.
