I did not have a choice in the selection of this organization, and I understand that I am not the typical patient. I made significant progress while in the hospital toward my movement goals; however, the care I received from Kindred was appalling. The physical therapist assigned to my case was rude, disdainful, and basically told me that I did not need physical therapy (and therefore, she was allotting the absolute minimum number of visits- I had no say in the matter). Then, she claimed an allergy to cats and ordered me to lock my cat in the bathroom and then laughed hysterically when he cried. This same therapist repeatedly told me I did not need PT. A later therapist who came to work with me was much nicer, but she, too, provided limited services. When the original therapist returned to "discharge me" from care, she reiterated her disdain for me and spent the least amount of time possible to finalize the paperwork and insinuate that I was a waste of time. I visited my doctor the next day and received orders to begin outpatient physical therapy, which is very costly. The outpatient therapist was not pleased with the instructions and care (or lack thereof) that I had been given. I simply want to be treated with dignity and respect. I am a client with an injury, striving to overcome my struggles and return to normal life.
