I admit it, I was lured here by a foodie-influencer video that made it look cool and trendy. It is,…read moreindeed, cool and trendy here! My meal and experience were outstanding. This part of Southwark is just arms-length enough from the touristy areas that Flour & Grape feels like a spot that is mostly trafficked and loved by locals. This being South of the river, there isn't a particularly convenient Tube station to bring you here from another part of the city. (Try a rental bike or scooter!) It is popular and they don't take reservations, so you are likely to be forced to queue up when you arrive. I came right when they opened so I didn't have that problem, and if you can make that work, I recommend it. I ordered their Pappardelle; it had a delicous ragu that had a cool fusion of flavors. I really loved it. I also got a great little bowl of olives and a pisachio gelato dessert. That gelato tasted really nice. Service was highly professional, and it is a beautiful dining room. I'm an American who stops by London for a couple of days every few years, and there is a very good chance I will work in a dinner here next time I'm around.

This was a happening place and we were lucky enough to get a table for two so we could enjoy their sweet treats. We also ordered the bruschetta, as it looked so good. The bread for the Bruschetta was so delicious. It was a soft bread and the flavor really worked with the tomato spread on top. The tomatoes were super sweet and flavorful, it was a lovely treat. The salted caramel gelato - well, how can you not like it? Enough said, it was very good. The Bundino was the slightly weak link. I would have chosen it last, but it was still a nice option for our dessert session.

Since discovering this gem I have been not once, not twice, but three times in the past 3 months…read more.. and I just booked my fourth. Every time I have the £35 tasting menu, which is pure, adventurous, delight. The truly special thing about this restaurant (apart from the homegrown herbs, excellent service, and mellow ambiance) is that the menu changes every few weeks, leaping from one culinary wonder to the next. The tasting menu comprises 5 courses (sometimes with a couple more if the chef is feeling experimental). I have had the pleasure of enjoying: British fusion (including mushroom cerviche, a roasted garlic cream and basil soup, pork cheeks with peanut brittle, and a berry-creme filled choux pastry) Mediterranean (including roasted and pickled beet with a fluffy cloud of goats cheese, tender marinated pork belly, butter-soft scallops with pear, and a lime parfait with basil jelly) Chilean (including the most unbelievable slow-cooked beef lashed with salsa, perfectly bbq'd chicken with crushed corn, and my all-time-favourite dessert burnt marshmallow meringue with wine caramel, jelly and candied walnuts) It's exceptional value for a really filling, delectable, fun meal. If you don't live near East Dulwich, it's worth venturing SE to get some seriously good grub. The staff are friendly, chatty (but not obtrusive), and very knowledgeable. Oh, and the cocktails are excellent.

So I'm not sure who I'm actually giving the five stars to as Platform One are "just the venue" with…read morea different pop up in residence (however often). Perilla Dining were on the food and boy were they on it. It was a tasting menu of 6 courses for an incredible £35. All 6 were amazing but the lamb was perfect. Fall off the bone tender & served with chicory and lettuce. The blood orange custard with olive oil for dessert looked stunning and tasted delicious. I'm such a fan. I'm hoping that Platform One pick winners every time as the Perilla dining experience was unbelievably good.
