Charcuterie, Delicious wine and wine flights...
    Nina G.

Enjoyed an afternoon in the shade at the oldest wine bar in London. Charcuterie board was delicious and complimented our wine choices. It was a welcomed break from a day of walking. You're surrounded by trees, sounds of languages from around the world and music. A great spot to hide away from the hustle and bustle of tourists while you savor the combined flavors of wine and food.

A very unique wine bar - happy to have visited the oldest wine bar in London est 1890 Got there before the queue started so was seated in the cave cellar - wine was decent nothing amazing Loved the atmosphere dining with candlelight- the alley patio seating looked fun- they had heaters during Christmas too It's a pay as u go bar Def go early unless u want a wait

We came here at the suggested early time, but we still had a bit of a wait. However, the ambiance is excellent (dark, moody, appropriate given you're basically waiting beside a cave!), and the bar staff were wonderful with suggestions for a glass while we waited. We were quoted a half hour wait time and had half that. We ended up, very luckily, being seated in the cave! This was a blessing and a feat, given that there are tons of tables outside that people normally get seated there. It was a totally incredible experience, and we loved every second. The wine is great, and there are a million selections. Don't get me wrong, she's a true star! However, the cheese was why we were there. We ordered a ton of food for two people, and I don't think we'd have done it any other way. The cheese boards are filling enough to just eat those, but we both got a salad starter (burrata and roast beef). We went for several cheeses, and the jams and jellies that accompany the cheeses were excellent and helped bite the flavor of one (so sorry to the Lord London, I didn't love you until I had some jam on you). I can't recommend this place enough!

I can't compare Gordon's to any other place I've been to. This place is truly unique and I'm so glad it was recommended to us by a family member. It's located in an old wine cellar (the oldest in London) and dimly lit by candles. If you are looking for a spot that matches the dark and moody London aesthetic and offers plenty of history, this place is perfect for you. I was very surprised by the quick wait time. We travelled in August which is their busiest time of year and the most we had to wait for a table was maybe 10 minutes. This place seems to be a true hidden gem and more popular among locals than tourists. The cheese boards are delicious and just as unique as the place itself. They have plenty of flavors to choose from and have several different options depending on your budget. We went with the two cheese board and everything included paired perfectly with the wine. The staff was great at giving us recommendations and even let us sample several flavors before committing. We loved this place so much we decided to come back our last day for round two. If you are travelling to London, I highly recommend adding this wine bar to your list of places to eat or drink in the city.

Very cool wine bar within a cave. Was seated in side an exactly cage. Not much solid food, just appetizer platters and of course wine. Had two bottles of this gem.

I know it's an iconic place and the service was great and we didn't have to wait very long. Probably around 15 to 20 minutes in the line. But if I would have to do it all over again, I would just skip the line and say I'd rather be inside standing, so I could see the cave in the grotto instead of being outside with the heat lamps. Wine was very good, but I'm not sure what all the hubbub is about this place. glad we did it but not sure it's worth a repeat.

The ambiance is amazing, but we waited for 45 min for a table inside. Loved the food and wine, but our waiter never put in our burrata order. Still a fun experience overall!

This is near Embankment Station and inside Victoria Embankment Park. About 5pm, the line begins to form, so if you don't want to wait, get there earlier in the afternoon. The wine and cheese selection was amazing, and I loved sitting outside. They had heaters, so the temperature was perfect. The portions were ample for the price, just watch your belongings because people are able to walk through the alleyway from the park. If I lived in London, I'd go here every week.

Historic wine bar serving small plate nibbles of cheese and charcuterie. I've only been to London twice in my life, but both times we had to go to Gordon's. They have a respectable wine list and their snack boards are exceptional. Cured meats, olives, jams, spreads, good bread... And lots and lots of cheese. It all goes just fine with some vino! Get a table inside if you can. The dining room is an old wine cellar. Low ceilings and exposed bricks and candlelight feels like your hanging out in a cave. The service at Gordon's is not world-class, but I kind of like some nonchalant disregard in a place like this. It adds to the overall vibe of a tavern that has never been, and never will be, 'stuffy'. It's pay as you go. This business has been around for more than 130 years, according to their website. They claim to be the oldest wine bar in London. The interior is plastered with vintage photos and newspapers articles. (Psst... you can also get cheese to go!)

Everything about this restaurant was fine. We went on a Friday the weight was about an hour. Seems weird for a wine bar outside seating. Looks like there are not a lot of grown-ups for the late night crowd. So we grownups came the next day early and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cannot believe how unbelievably popular this is. But I'm glad to pitch into the Gordon Ramsay empire. Very much enjoyed it. We sat outside by the way in a very beautiful little tent.

We started the night sitting outside and ordering a cheese board & bottle of wine. Staff was friendly and everything was great. We made our way inside after paying so we could check out the famous interior. The cheese selection was amazing (I love cheese) & we grabbed another glass of wine. Such a cute spot, I would definitely come back.

Enjoy a nice glass of wine or two at this famous bar in London. The cave is so cool to sit in and be transported back in time. They have a nice wine selection but I wish there was a slight improvement on their shareable bite selection. The Scottish egg is served cold which I don't think does it justice. Also the baguette served on the cheese board should have been warm in my opinion. The servers were nice but definitely busy. My suggestion for the establishment is to leave a history card at each table so guests can read what the place was throughout history while they're enjoying their wine. I would definitely come back next time I'm in town and need a glass of wine

One of the best place to hang out with friends over glasses of wine and some wine food. The outside seating is very cute especially it was right next to the park. They put tent on each side of the pavement and all tents have a heater. The inside is interesting too you would feel like you're in a war shelter. Wine selection is great and price is reasonable. My favorite is the food tho. They have all sort of cheese board and my fav is the brunch board with roasted beef and smoked salmon. My fav part is that they give you a big slice of Brie and it is so delicious with the cranberry sauce. You have to pay immediately after you order because it is hard for them to track you with the big open space. But no service charge which is nice. Staffs are very friendly and efficient.
