True professionals, among the best. The barber I usually go to was closed today, and I needed a last minute haircut. I went to another, nearby barbershop and the results were a total disaster. Completely botched my hair (a fade), and I was left trying to figure out what to do next. I saw the review of "Levels" on Google, and decided to give them a shot. Turns out this was the right/best move. Immediately upon stepping in, I received a warm welcome and felt right at home. Extremely comfortable environment for me as a first time customer. I explained my situation and was instantly reassured that they could undo the damage. Based on their confidence, I was immediately put at ease and knew they meant it. AND I was a walk-in, where otherwise I know the demand via appointment is very, very high here. I got my haircut from Earl. This man has been in the business for almost 30 years - and it shows. I would describe him as a professional artist dedicated to his craft who has finely honed his skills and become a master at it. He quickly and expertly fixed my destroyed haircut, and was very personable throughout. After he was done, I explained my current barber situation and how I routinely went to another shop. No problem - Earl understood where I was coming from and in true professional form, thanked me for coming and let me know I was welcome anytime anyways. I will keep this in mind as I try to help promote their business to everyone I know. Service, cleanliness, atmosphere, price: 5 stars across the board. Highly recommend this place. A few months ago my son's barber became ill and can no longer take clients. Since then I have taken my son to a few local places but have been disappointed with all of them. I found Levels online and really liked reading about the barbers, the owners and their business story. I called the New Windsor location and spoke to a very nice woman. She took the time to listen to me and answer all of my questions and I had a very good feeling about her. Later that day, I took my teenage son there. The woman I had spoken to was there and was in the middle of cutting a gentleman's hair, so we sat down to wait. We had a very nice conversation while she cut the gentleman's hair and both my son and I took an immediate liking to her. She told us to call her "Pinky". When it my son's turn, Pinky really took her time and listened to what my son wanted. We showed her a photo which was kind of difficult to see detail, but let me tell you, she really got it right!! Pinky was AMAZING! It was exactly what he wanted. Pinky is a sweet, patient and really TALENTED woman. When I saw my son's smile as he looked in the mirror, I knew he was finally happy with his hair. My daughter, Jae, had her hair cut into a teeny Afro at the beginning of the summer by a stylist at my hair salon. Last week, she decided that she wanted a specific haircut and asked me to find a barbershop to take her to. Well, I am the mother of three girls and never had to look for a barbershop, much less a skilled barber who would know what Jae wanted to do with her hair. I received several recommendations in the area from friends, but I was drawn to Levels basically because the mother who recommended it always had her son's hair well groomed. She recommended that I consult with April at Levels Barbershop. Well, my expectations were exceeded. April was very patient and understood what Jae wanted, as she tried to explain (uncertain of the correct terminology). As April was cutting Jae's hair, she gave her tips on maintenance, routines,etc. Jae walked out of Levels totally satisfied. April was able to give her the exact haircut that she wanted and it looked good! I'm highly recommending Levels. The atmosphere was comfortable, the other barbers seemed to be pleasing their customers and most of all, April's skills were impeccable and the overall service she provided was excellent. read more

I go to set looking proper, even the hair and make-up people are like, "you look good, your all set..."that's cause April does all the heavy lifting for them to get me lookin' so so pretty. The shop is great, the atmosphere is fun, professional, and I always feel like I'm with family when I'm there; not the kind of family members you have to invite to a wedding, Thanksgiving or Christmas that you got guilted into inviting because your Momma says it ain't right even though they never bring anything except that nasty cheese and pepperoni platter from the supermarket then got nerve to pull out tupperware so they can "take some home"...sorry about that...I love Levels and I ain't never going anywhere else!!! So much I finally broke down and stepped into one of the Levels Shops and sure enough I was blown away from the moment I walked through the doors. The shop appearance was nice and clean. It felt very welcoming and warming. I was greeted with a smile and a welcome to Levels how can we help you. I got a neck taper as well as my eyebrows done. I left out very happy and satisfied with the service that was provided. The Barbers were professional and knowledgable I felt confident and content. I've been in New York for about 7 months and I was looking for a barbershop nearby that I could call home and that not only knew how to cut hair but took pride in their craft and Levels is definitely that place. The staff is professional and polite. I get my haircut by MastaFadeaWon who everyone calls Fadea and I never leave without the freshest of haircuts. I get multiple compliments every week refuse to get haircuts from anyone else. They keep the place clean and the also have refreshments for purchase for the customers. I went into Levels pre-nyc pride in DIRE need for a haircut. Haircuts can be a stressful time due to committing to a style and finding a comfortable environment. When I walked into Levels, that establishment was very clean and look well put together. I was greeted by Miss April and she took care of me. Like, took care of me. We had a great conversation about different topics of life all while she diligently worked on my hair. It was an experience like no other. It has to be my best experience at a barber shop to date. I visited Levels Barbershop for the 2nd time yesterday and I am sold. April is amazing! She listens to what you want, takes her time and is very friendly. I expressed my haircut concerns to her and she heard every single word and made sure I was at ease and comfortable. Her skills are A+. I definitely found a fantastic barber. He's perfected every type of fade in the 32 years he's been barbering. From signature fades to tapers Fader does it all. He's also a great barber teacher and he's been teaching for 11 years.
