I am so lazy when it comes to filling things out and changing addresses. For this reason, when I…read morefound a bruise on my leg that had appeared from absolutely nowhere a few days ago, I was without an actual GP i.e. my old university in London was actually still my doctors. Well, that wouldn't work. So, I walked in to Prestwich Walk In Centre, gave my DOB and other details to the nice receptionist and sat down to wait. And wait I did. There were a fair few people in there before me, one of whom got carted out by two paramedics to an Ambulance waiting outside. So, I understood that I was somewhat low priority. The staff were doing their best and remained calm and polite despite one very rude woman barking her details out at the receptionist and another girl walking out of the bathroom with her sample (!) not knowing what to do with it. Lovely. I was seen after fifty minutes by one nurse and one trainee. They took a look, my temperature and my blood pressure and told me I should have it looked at by someone else as it wasn't an insect bite as I thought. But that I would have to wait another hour to be seen by another nurse. So I left to make an appointment to re-register with my old GP. They are so overladen with walk-in patients and a bit understaffed that I would only go here if you have an afternoon to while away and some form of entertainment. I only had my phone and that couldn't get any reception. Unless it is an emergency with your child, as a few of them are, you might as well just fill in the damn forms, re-register with your GP and go straight to them to get some answers.

I was eliminated from the list when I needed help. I made a complaint and the responses were lies,…read moregross exaggerations, omissions and the bottom line was evading their duty of care to me by pretending to be showing care for other patients. I am appalled by the behaviour of certain drs at this practice

Although it's recently been redecorated to a much more pleasant and stylish degree, it still…read moredoesn't feel overly "NHS", no blue signs etc, and lots of it still needs updating, such as the dire toilets and the old ricketty dark wooden glazed doors throughout. The corridor which you walk down to get to the actual doctor's rooms or nurses rooms is quite dimly lit, and not very well labelled, leading to many people going the wrong way, not finding rooms etc. The staff are friendly and helpful enough, but could always do with some extra customer service training. The venue lacks ANY hand sanitiser gel/foam. They should at least place it inside doorways and beside the actual rooms themselves. The waiting room has plenty of seating, and although it used to have a radio and a TV, it now has none. There are a few books for kids, but no toys. The magazines are hilariously poor though, mainly old editions of Lancashire Life, and much to my amusement, this year in that waiting room, I found a pottery magazine.... from 1997!! There is a single unisex toilet, and a single unisex disabled toilet, both are directly attached to the waiting room via quite thin doors, so it never feels particularly private. The way patients are called are via a scrolling digital marquee which beeps when someone is called, and displays their name, the doctor they are seeing, and which room number to go to. The doctors themselves are good, but that's subjective I'm sure. Parking comprises of approximately 10 parking bays, around 4 'Doctors Only' bays, and 3 disabled bays (only one of which is actually wider than standard bays). The surgery is not well signposted from the main road. The venue is good but need continuation to bring it up to NHS standards; NHS signage, hand sanitiser points etc. Automatic doors would be better for the elderly and infirm instead of the heavy swinging doors (2 sets of doors) to get into the building.

Happy to deal with me when it suits on my partners behalf. Done it today to cancel an appointment…read moreand Rikaya however you spell her name was so RUDE. Asked me for my partners NHS number for DPA and after speaking to another member of staff, even with that number I still wouldn't be able to cancel the appointment so RIKAYA just felt the need to be sarcastic (who knows their number.... really!!!) when all I wanted to do was cancel his appointment but 2 weeks prior I was allowed with his date of birth. I have never in my life had to deal with such disgust! Marie Brian, sort your staff out!!!
