The Palombaro Club is one of two private social clubs in Ardmore. They are both on the same block of County Line Road, hence the name "Big Club" (the other club, the IACCA, is the "Little Club" because it's 1/3 the size). They have been here for a very long time, easily 40 years or more. The venue itself has an upper floor with a large hall, stage, long bar and catering kitchen. There's also a coat room and restrooms in the vestibule. The space with catering tables could hold 75 with a dance floor, 100 - 125 without a dance area. It is clean, well kept, not 'elegant' but also not 'tacky'. There are two flat screen TVs above the bar, for us we had them broadcast the playoff game which made folks happy. There is no smoking permitted in the large hall. The lower level is the social club with a larger bar, smaller tables, much more of a bar/club environment (people do smoke cigarettes down there, but you could not smell or hear anything from downstairs when on the upper floor). They sometimes will rent that out (Superbowl party, anyone?). This is a club run by the members, Charlie is the 'coordinator' for rentals, he is a sweet, straight-talking guy who works professionally as a glazer. He can be a bit hard to get and is not always at the club, but he is a seriously nice and accommodating man. They do not have a website or a club email, you call the club and ask for Charlie. He does return calls pretty quickly. Now the BEST part? Almost shamefully inexpensive. Your party dollar will go far with them. They supply a bartender and the alcohol (you can specify what options you want to offer, they run an open tab for you or you can cash bar). You supply the caterer, they do not have restrictions on who can be brought in, and you supply the entertainment (band, DJ, iPod). Plus, you're supporting a longstanding social club in the area. I was at Evivva on Saturday afternoon with my family for a Bar Mitzvah. I couldn't believe how small the parking lot was, so just be grateful that they do offer Valet Parking. We were one of the lucky ones to get a spot. I do have to say that Evivva is very elegant and the appetizers were tasty - Chicken Satay, Mini Hot Dogs & Crab Cakes, Shrimp Tempura & Broschetta. There was only 1 Bartender to accommodate about 125 guests but then again only Soda and White Wine were served. The main course was disappointing. You start out with some lettuce and a tomato w/ a very bad Vinegarette Dressing. They throw on a couple of Cranberry's I guess to offset the vinegar taste. The choices were Talapia, Chicken Marsala & Filet Mignon all served with Risotto and Fresh Vegetables. I chose the Chicken and my husband, the Filet Mignon. I couldn't eat mine. The sauce had a very bad peppery taste to it and I did sample to Filet Mignon. Also a peppery taste. If you happen to eat there, definitely ask for the sauce on the side otherwise my guess is that you will be returning your dish like we did. I didn't care for the dessert at all. It was this checkered cake w/ mocha and chocolate on the outside. Don't even attempt to ask for more coffee/tea because you'll never get it, even after asking for it 2 times. The dance floor was so small, it was like they just removed 2 or 3 tables to make some room. I couldn't believe it. If you've ever been to a Jewish affair, you know you need a lot of room for the dances!! The regular dinner menu may be different if they even offer dinner (it may just be an affair type restaurant), but if you are going to attend an affair at Evivva, definitely eat beforehand or just hide a snack in your bag.

Throughout the gardens you'll find many places to sit either in the sun or in the shade. It is very easy to find this location if you're on City Avenue on St. Joseph University campus there's a large street sign and information leading you directly to the Arboretum. All you have to do is sit back and think of what you want and then enjoy the evening when it happens. She helped me pull together a Star Wars Saga Party in January 2020 and worked with me to get all the details I wanted! She worked with the caterer to put together the Star Wars themed hors d'oeuvres I envisioned together with the Star Wars themed dinner items I wanted and to make her work even more difficult, I wanted all vegetarian/vegan food. She helped me get a tent for the back yard that connected to the house.) she helped me understand all the contracts I had to sign. She helped me with booking a Star Wars band, valet parking and having a Star Wars Tiki Bar with the Bartender wearing a Princess Leia costume. She even worked with the caterers to wear Star Wars costumes. I even wanted a black pot for Yoda's stew, which she worked with the caterer on. She was the one who took what I wanted and worked with the vendors to make it happen. And she coordinated everything.
