Here's an example tat any working parent can relate too, On days I'm working were generally dressed well, I certainly get a very different reaction and treatment HERE, vs. When I'm running errands in a track suit hair up in a messy bun it u set a hat , with my children. I specifically came inn today for. $$2,6k over sized acrylic and glass coffee table, as well as a $3k chandelier for our foyer, however... due to the reaction and all those free /unoccupied employees walking past me, on the floor and in the back in the dales area, next to their office. We left once again with no purchase. although We would linger, walk in multiple circles, to admire, remeasure and in hopes we can get a sales rep. No eye contact hello, or any sign of acknowledgement.. In comparison to their competitors next door! Let's start with the customer service: Vanette is the most friendly, down to earth, and amazing sales associate I have spoken to in a long time. As another retail employee, I model my service on hers. I spent probably 15-20 minutes just chatting with her - she didn't make me feel pressured or unwelcome in any way, which is much appreciated (and to be honest, can be rare nowadays). I appreciate the good customer service. I am more of a mid century modern guy while this collection is very contemporary. However, I still like a lot of their things personally (huge, gorgeous live edge acacia dining table made me wish I had a bigger apartment). TL;DR: this store has out of this world customer service and a very nice collection. Vanette really deserves to be recognized as she is outstanding.

But that is simply not the case when it comes to this lovely antique lighting store. It's a clean, organized shop run by a welcoming patron who knows a lot about the history of the area. It's not overly big, so things are easy to find-- glittery chandeliers, Tiffany style lamps, Art Deco wall sconces-- and nothing is caked in dust (you can actually SEE the lights!). Prices range depending on what you're looking for (as expected), but there's no problem finding the price as delicate tags hang about the room above you like snowflakes. Oh, and don't hesitate to ask him to turn all the lights on. It's spectacular to see everything lit up (even better, go at dusk for an even better view).

It turns out the company blocked me from their social website for indicating discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Act. They discriminate potential customers based on age and status. They discriminate potential customers wearing COVID-19 masks and follow the customer in and around their showroom without acknowledging their presence. They dismiss potential customer inquiries all together and do not conduct the necessary follow ups as indicated by the customer. I visited their showroom at the end of 2023 requesting for a writing desk with specific dimensions. As a result, the associate or owner I conversed with insisted he would follow up regularly. All communication ties were cut after my initial visit and made a conscientious effort to stay in touch with them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ORGANIZATION TO THE COMMON CUSTOMER. CLEARLY, THEY DESIRE SPECIFIC CUSTOMERS SUCH AS INTERIOR DESIGNERS AND THEIR CLIENTELE. AS A MARKETING INSIDER WHO HAS TRAINED AND OFFERED SOUND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MANY COMPANIES, "PLACE PEOPLE OVER PROFITS FIRST!!!" The difference here from other stores that focus on smaller living spaces, is that it's about being stylish in a small area instead of trying to maximize the use of each square inch of your apartment. I tried taking a picture of a piece of furniture I liked and was politely asked not to. The owner explained that they've had issues with people creating cheap knock-offs of their products. It's a pretty small store and the selection is very streamlined, but they only carry high quality products with a prices that matches that quality.

The one woman who was manning the shop was incredibly welcoming. Didn't rush us and tolerated a 4 year-old wandering around (and rearranging a few arrangements). The items are on the pricier side but seems like a good quality. We didn't find anything for the person we were looking for but bought a beautiful hair clip for our nanny. I would certainly wander thru again if I didn't have anything specific in mind.
