I ordered my Giant bike on May 13, 2023 The girl that placed the order took my money. Supposedly didn't place the order. Come to find out , she no longer works there. After numerous times calling to no avail , on August 3,2023. I happen to drive there and they were closed ( two days)due to inventory . The owner let me in and stated that the girl that previously took my money for my order, never ordered my bike and he would place an expedited order. So the next day I got a text message from the owner stating my bike was in. Strange. I doubt that the bike went through a teleport. So the only logical explanation is when they were doing inventory, they came across my bike. This is terrible customer service. Period! I will not be back here. read more

My experience is identical with several other review in the past few months. I ordered a bike on march 12th and they warned me it would be 4-6 weeks. Here we are 8 weeks later, not one returned phone call to my three voicemails asking for updates. I've gone into the store twice. The first time I had to wait because the employees were goofing around in the parking lot and when they finally helped me they weren't any help at all. I left my phone number for the manager who never called me back. I walked into the store today to be treated rudely when I asked for an update. They have a script that goes like, "we got an order in today let me see if yours is in it." They go to the back for a while and come back and say, "looks like yours wasn't in it but we are getting another shipment in next week!" I've been told this exact thing twice now. I talked to the owner and he seemed to understand, but after reading other people experiences I think he won't do anything about it. I'm going in tomorrow to cancel my order. I would have given this place glowing reviews a few years ago for their customer service and quality products, but now I would recommend anywhere else. Update: I ended up not canceling my order because I didn't feel like driving down there. After they told me they would have it Thursday they didn't have it. They got it on Friday and we had to wait while they tuned it when we came in at 4 pm. Over all very poor experience. Definitely will NOT be taking advantage of the benefit of purchasing a bike here. I don't have faith they will provide quality service for free after the service I received when spending $800. read more

The 3 things to review on. Service- what service? They don't ever answer the phone. I tried texting(stupid), as suggested, no response back. They said they would check shortly.... Still waiting here. Selection- the only way to buy a bike from this store, if they have exactly what you want. There is no big "selection" to choose from. Everything in there is an overpriced used bike, expensive electric bike, or bikes being worked on. Value- This is a funny one. You pay all this money for a bike and if you trade it in, they really rip you off. I took in 2 $600 kid bikes. One of those had never been touched. They offered $100. I guess they don't hold any value. Maybe they wanted ours so they could actually give someone a bike from the store. So, here is what happened. In 2020, I ordered a bike. It took 9 months to get my bike. It was a pandemic so I wasn't super upset. They originally said about 3 months, but took 9. Again, pandemic. Here we are, again. We ordered our bike 7/2/23. We took two bikes to trade. They were both giants. One was a brand new kids bike that had never been used. The second was an XS adult bike that our son outgrew. So, they gave $100 per bike. We should have sold them out right so we could at make some money back. Tomorrow will be 8 weeks. I don't know why I am even leaving a review, these people won't respond. Ha. No thanks. Not ever again. First time I ordered something from them I got a call after three weeks saying it could be six months or more before it came in. No thanks. Cancel. Second time I ordered something I waited two months and never heard a word. Contacted them and was told there was nothing in the system about it being shipped or when it would be shipped. Was told someone would look into it and contact me. Five days, plus a weekend, later and still no word. Got in touch with them again and asked for the order to be canceled. Response was ok, we'll do that. No apology, no explanation, nothing. Company has a serious customer service problem, among other things. read more

If I could leave negative stars I would. We purchased two electric bicycles on April 18, 2023. We were told to expect 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. I began calling at the 8 week mark for an order status update. Why do they have a phone if they never answer it? Why do they have a chat on their web page if they never respond? Why do they provide a number to text if they do not respond? My husband went in on Monday July 17 for an update and to note the instances where we have not received responses. We were guaranteed by Rob that we would receive a call later that day regarding the order status. We were trying to avoid canceling the order. I paid $6200 for bikes. Not a purchase I just casually made on a whim. We ordered bikes because we wanted bikes. Again, no call. My husband went down on July 21 to cancel the order/get a refund. We were told an email confirmation had been sent. No email. We called. No answer. No response to voicemail. My husband is going back down today. At this point we should be paid for our time and mileage to travel down their. I purchased a road bike from this business in 2019. Approximately $800 bike. No issues. But I spend over $6k and this is what we deal with. DO NOT spend your money with this business. I'll post an update after our final trip down there today. read more

Buyers beware! I wish I would have read the reviews first as well. About 6 years ago we purchased our bikes from here, that experience went well. However, a lot must have changed since then as we went in last month to buy a new bike. First off, do not trust their website about a bike being in stock and should be ready in 10 days. I called numerous times after a few weeks and finally got ahold of someone (don't both emailing or leaving voice mail because they sure won't respond) I was informed "it will be more like 3-4 months but they make us put 10 days online". No spine or honesty at all. They has no problem taking the order and money and just hoped I wouldn't care if they didn't keep me informed of any issues. Second, take their bike trade in program with a grain of salt. I traded in a bike and was told I would have the check the following Wednesday.....now we are pushing a month and I cannot get an answer from anyone again on why I still don't have it. I asked the girl on the phone and she was supposed to call accounting and get an answer for me, a week goes by and still nothing. I emailed the owner Rob, he was the man discussing the trade with me, but he refuses to answer my questions. Of course he responded same day when I was trading my bike in but now that it comes to them paying me for that bike, I get no answers. They didn't hesitate to post it online in a picture about used bikes where I clearly could see my old one. Take my bike but don't follow through on there in, great business model..... I would advise everyone to try somewhere else. This place will blame supply chain issues on bad business practices. I ordered a bike in mid January 2023 and was told it would take 1 to 3 months. At the end of three months after hearing nothing I contacted the store. Was referred to Rob the owner and given his text number. He responded right away, said the order would come in a week later and that he would keep me updated. One week passed, and then another and then another, and despite several texts and calls to the store, I am still waiting for an update, a reply to my texts, or a bike. I walked in Sunday at 12 noon ready to spend. I needed a helmet, a pump and potentially 2 new bikes, an e-bike and a gravel bike. I'm new to the area and was excited to learn... no one greeted me, said hello or asked if I needed help. Even after I was taking pictures and looking for 10 minutes at a LIV e-bike. When I finally got the young lady's attention and said can I ask some questions, she said "what's up?" I asked if she could help me compare the LIV to a Specialized I had seen. She was clueless and the guys spoke up "we don't sell Specialized so we don't know" it seemed like they were bothered to be having to answer questions. Not deterred I wandered around some more and found what looked like a great deal on a used Kona gravel bike. Not knowing the brand well or the model I looked it up on my phone..nice. I went to ask the guys what they thought about the bike for a beginner gravel rider.... I could go on but the bottom line is the vibe was "we really don't to be working today. " I get it, it's hard to find workers. My point is that if any of the 3 people working would have taken an interest in me " that Kona is awesome and a great deal, ride it around the block!" Best team members EVER!! A duo of bike mechanics saved the day for me while they were crewing the Eurekan triathlon in Eureka Springs, AR. Just before the start my road bike wouldn't shift correctly. I asked if I could borrow their bike stand and they immediately jumped into action. Turns out my rear derailleur cable was internally frayed - what a catch! They quickly replaced the cable and got me into transition. The bike shifted super smooth and was crisp. I had a 100 mile ride to complete the next day. Without these guys my weekend would have been a total loss. Not only did they do a SUPER job, they had superbly cool attitudes. These dudes need a raise! read more

I ordered 3 bikes from L&C around a year ago and received them all in a timely manner with no issues. Since then, every time I order a bike, it is delay after delay to the point I end up canceling my order. This most recent time, I ordered bikes for my kids on April 8th and still have no notification where they have even shipped. My husband ordered the same bikes, from a different bike shop on 5/31 and they arrived today (6/5). If you look on manufacturer websites (Liv and Giant for example), they do not even list L&C as an authorized retailer. read more

They took my money for an online order and never gave the product. 01/28/2023 update: Today I called and was put in touch with Avery. Avery was new and stated that it may be a couple more weeks for my bike and that they would have a "large" order. This is the same tale they spin to me each week. I decided to cancel my order and wash my hands of this company. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever again. 01/20/2023 update: I have still not received my bike. I have called this business every week since this post. I have been in contact with Rob the manager, front desk employees, and vickie. Vickie informed me, on january 3rd, that there would be a shipment on the third week of january. Today, a front desk employee told me that there was no such shipment. In addition, I have been in contact with Amairany from aventon, the company that owns the aventure bike I bought but have never received. They have given me direct emails that state those bikes are in stock and ready to deliver. The worst part is that I don't know who to trust anymore, when I should be saying that I trust Lewis/Clark completely. I spent $2.3k on lies and frustration. Original Review October 2022: My view's mirror Joel brown's review that was left a few months ago. 3 months and 3 weeks ago [August 29th], I ordered a bike and tire pump. I have been told consistently "one more week" etc every week after the 4th week I purchased the bike online; by both employees and the manager. The employees have a passion for biking and are kind, but customer service has been incredibly frustrating. I have still not received my bike and pump during an approaching cold season that will no doubt hamper the enjoyment of my bike. Out. Door. Gear. They have oodles and oodles of it. The bike center is huge and very helpful. I'm just getting into biking, but have friends that have been into it for quite some time and this is their regular place. There's also a large climbing wall to test out gear before you buy. Lake Fayetteville is within walking distance, and they let you test out boats there. I also enjoy that they give you a drink as you shop. read more

Everything Outdoors. If they don't have it you don't need it. I have bought several bikes from them and continue to come back to the shop over and over. They give you lifetime tuneups included with each bike purchase. The team in the bike shop, where I spend the majority of my time, know me when I walk through the door. They address me by name and already have most of my information in the memory to look me up and get me in and out of the store quickly, if that's what I am needed. In the outdoor category they have something for every season and like I said before, will cover whatever activity you are getting in to or already seasoned in. Lewis & Clark is the place to go for Outdoor Gear. They have a climbing wall in the building to test gear before you buy it, and the selection of camping and kayaking equipment rivals Pack Rat, the nearest competitor. A huge aspect of L&C is the bike center. I bought a mountain bike there a few years ago, and the selection is great - they also offer road bikes and hybrid bikes. You receive free maintenance for the life of the bike, and repairs are fast, friendly, and affordable. The clothing selection is very large, and all high quality. The shoe selection suffers just a tad, but that is purely my opinion, because I prefer the brands at Pack Rat. There are still plenty of choices, and they carry the brands that Pack Rat does not. All prices are roughly comparable to Pack Rat. read more

Finding a new bike during COVID shut down was impossible. I bought one from FB Marketplace. It turned out to have some issues. It had been originally purchased at Lewis and Clark. I went in to buy whole new parts. The two gentleman working took a look and told me I really didn't need a whole new parts replacement. They took care of it while I waited and I was out and riding in less than 45 minutes at a fair price. Amazing service. Kudos. read more

Very Disappointed Bought a nice bike on January 19th of 2019. Was told it would be here in two weeks at most, their words were we like to under promise and over deliver. Well we went two weeks never heard a word from anyone, so we called and was told he would check and get right back to us. Forty eight hours later no return call. Called back and spoke with Ryan and was told he would check it out and get back to us. No call 72 hours later, went into store on Saturday February 9th, and ask what is the status, Said at the best it would be in by Thursday but no guarantee. Clueless is the best word for this group not to mention the lack of effort on follow up with the customer. Cancelled the order and went to a competitor. Save yourself the trouble and go to the competitor first. Disappointed customer to say the least. read more

Excellent customer service! I have had a pair of Smith snow goggles for 10 years that managed to break at the strap. The goggles had a lifetime warranty. An employee named Jared at the Springdale location got on the ball within a day and contacted Smith. They no longer made these goggles, so they offered me a new pair.
