Lewis Door Service gets it though.. This is our second experience with them repairing our garage door, one we inherited with our house 8 years ago. The first call was to replace the door opener and have a new security box installed. Yesterday's visit was to replace a broken chain. It was important for the repair to happen quickly because the chain supports the door while opening and closing. Without it the motor was vulnerable. Both times our technician arrived as scheduled. An overview of the job was provided and we paid in full after the service. No mess left behind for us to deal with. over three months ago I bought a garage door they had to order it when it show up the windows were not installed then they had to order them another three weeks went by still no windows no call backs finally they give me a call said they came in you would think they would have apologize but no big deal just don't believe them when they tell you your door will be in in two months you would think they would keep you updated NO I hope the owner reads this and does somthing about the staff at his office. one more thing my garage has been leaking the hole time because they didn't put on the side and top moldings I also had to put one star no other options for no stars just a follow up the owner did just call me after reading my review he apologize and said he would look in to it he seemed very sincere I know sometimes things go wrong after talking to the owner I believe he will fix the problem most all his reviews were good so I will give him another chance read more

After reading reviews on here I decided it was time to make a call to have our noisy and presumed falling apart garage door serviced. I called in the morning and was offered a same day appointment from noon to 2pm. I was called 20 minutes before 2pm and was told they were 20 minutes out. They showed up promptly when they said they would be and got right to work. I quickly found out my noisy garage door was not falling apart and only needed a little love to get it back in order. The repairman was awesome and taught me everything I needed to know to keep my door in order going forward. The fee seemed very reasonable and I'm thankful to have a quiet door for the first time in a long time. My husband called another company and they told him it would be Wednesday before they could come. So I got on Yelp and told him to call Lewis. One of their service technicians called me and asked if I could meet him at home? By the time I got to my house (about 20 minutes), he had already arrived and fixed the door! Great local company that is extremely honest and trust worthy. Recently, due to the ice and old age our garage door motor and wire broke. We didn't know who to call seeing as we recently moved into the house and found an old sticker on the door with Lewis Door's number. After contacting them and setting up an appointment the gentleman came out and worked on the garage for roughly 30-45 min and did much more than expected. He said the problem wasn't that time consuming or costly and since they charged $80 for the drive out he rebalanced our garage door, greased the springs in the door allowing it to open easier thus putting less stress on the motor all without asking. The total cost ended up being $120 which was more than reasonable. Great company with amazing ethics and reliability. Would recommend them to anyone knowing they would do an excellent job. If you don't trust me they are backed by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). read more

I called at 8 AM this morning due to a broken spring on my 18 foot garage door. I was given a time frame of between 12 noon and 2 o'clock. Around 12:40 I received a call and within 20 minutes the garage door specialist was here. Sean was extremely polite and very knowledgeable to what he was doing. I ended up buying and insulation seal kit for the outside of door and a new seal for the bottom of it. It was delivered to him within an hour and when he left my garage door looked better and operated better than it has since we moved here over three years ago. I highly recommend Lewis Doors and I can't say enough about how great of a job that Sean did. Every company needs employees like him. read more

I read all kinds of reviews online and this company was at the top of my list. I gave them a call and explained what was going on - they were so kind and honest. They told me it was an easy fix (something I could probably do on my own) and then told me how to fix it. I went out to my garage with my two-year-old and five month and old and had it fixed in less than five minutes. How rare it is to find such an honest and trustworthy company! I have had 3 experiences with Lewis door. All good. Initially they installed a new door opener at my daughter's house. I had chosen them because it looked like a good local business, not a national chain. Anyway, the woman on the phone was courteous and very knowledgeable. Service was on schedule and the pricing reasonable. About a year later service was needed on other hardware related to the door, it being pretty old. Again, prompt and very reasonably priced service. I also had a service tech come to my house and insulate my door which faces the sun in the summer. They didn't charge anything extra to come out to Bardstown. And, having researched the cost of doing the insulation myself, I know I got a good deal. Wasn't much more than if I had done it, but it was done faster and better. Finally, I had stopped in to the shop/store once when in the area. I met the owner and I came away knowing I was dealing with competent and honest people. Unless you are retired and have nothing better to do than wait you may want to consider someone else....Had an appointment for service I thought for 10 am ...called and was told it was actually a 10a to 12p "window" no problem...But at a few minutes until 12 with still no call to advise they were on the way...I called and cancelled the service run. For anyone who works and has to schedule their off days to get things done this s certainly a company to avoid...would have been interesting to not call (and let them call whenever after 12 and say they would be there after lunch...) I have been dealing with Lewis Doors for years and have always received good service until recently. My last experience was horrible and I will never deal with this unprofessional company again. The secretary makes decisions that a manager or even the owner should be making. The service technician, was unfriendly, unprofessional, and damage something else while making a minor repair in which the company refuse to take responsibility for. When ask to speak to a manager or owner, I was told he was out of town. What happen to customer satisfactiion? I don't know if over the years they have hired new technicians but I will never do business with this company again and do not recommend them to anyone who wants quality service. read more
