Definitely Zero stars My child is a freshman this year at Lewis university I didn't know I was paying thousands of dollars to a school where some professors teach from home online and the students in classroom, and another professor who doesn't know how to send an email to students that she cancelled the class but rather write it on a piece of paper and stick it on the door. I say this school is a joke from the start. I will give them one more week to straighten up or Im taking my child out to a respectful school. read more

The graduate program is fine. Some classes are genuinely challenging and the number of good professors generally out weigh the bad.

We have had two students go through Lewis. The first experience was good. This one is turning into an expensive online program. Our student has had two online classes every semester. The instructors are unavailable to help outside class hours. Our student has been very busy with student tutors who are essentially teaching the class. Our student has to self-teach an entire chemistry class. It's ridiculous that Lewis is charging the same for the online classes as the in person classes. read more

I've never attended Lewis University, but I live in the area and I've been on the grounds for a few events. The campus itself is beautiful. I also appreciate that they put on events for the residents of Romeoville. The Easter event was great for the kids. It was a huge space for them to go Easter egg hunting, and my kids loved it. They also had food, music, a small petting/feeding zoo, and some inflatables to play in. I think it's great that those who don't attend school here can also enjoy the campus. I've also been to their arcade/game area and it's a decent place to hang out. I can't speak for the academic programs here, but it seems like a nice campus to frequent. read more

Lewis University is an amazing school! It is a Catholic private institution but they are extremely open to diversity and welcoming to people of all backgrounds. The staff here is excellent. I had a hard time picking a major, I saw three different counselors here. Each of them were extremely nice, they did everything possible to make sure they could transfer as many of my previous credits as possible. I had spoken to other private schools in the area and they do not come close. Wheaton is nice, but they are not as open to diversity as Lewis is. In fact, not at all. Elmhurst and North Central had very rude staff. I was juggling all my options, I did a lot of research and Lewis is what I picked. Another plus is the private campus and great parking. The staff here believes in their students, and they take the time to know you! I need environments where I feel like I am part of something. I feel that at Lewis. -This section is for Veterans. I myself served. The other schools I visited had TERRIBLE veterans departments. The counselors were not even Veterans nor did they see my service as a positive thing. Lewis has great Veterans services. They truly go out of their way for us. I highly recommend this school if you are considering a private school. read more

This is a review of the part time evening MBA program offered by Lewis University. At this point in time, Lewis U doesn't offer a full-time day program. I completed the MBA program in the fall/winter of 2015. Let's start at the beginning and go in order: - Admissions process The admissions department receives an A+ in my experience. Extra helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond to all my questions. At any point during the program if I had a question, a quick email got me the answer in a matter of hours typically. I would consider the admissions criteria for entrance into the program to be on the "Easy" side - Accredited undergraduate degree, application, phone interview, current resume, $50 fee, and No GMAT required. Transfer Credit - I was able to transfer in 3 courses from DeVry / Keller Graduate School of Management: Managerial Accounting, Managerial Finance, and Organizational Behavior. Being able to transfer in 3 courses is more than the 2 courses other MBA programs in the Chicagoland area would take in transfer. I'm not sure if this is an exception or the rule, double check to see if this has been updated. - Financing The student loan process was really easy, request an online pin number, dig up last year's tax return, and fill out a few online forms. The rest seemed to take care of itself. No problem! The per course cost is around $2k plus books. Not as cheap as the state college/university programs, not as expensive as the nationally recognized programs (Northwestern, U of C, etc.) The ability to complete this program in the mid to high $20k range makes a high ROI (Return on Investment) possible from the Lewis U MBA. I assume you can complete the entire program at other campuses too. I'm not sure if the program can be completed 100% online, I'd prefer not. I wouldn't want Lewis U in the same category as other heavily marketed 100% online MBA programs. - Professors / Instructors I found the instructors of the program to be fantastic. For me, it was the perfect blend of retired professionals who wanted to teach what they learned in their specific field, experienced professionals transitioning into the world of academia in an adjunct capacity, and career academic professors. The combination of academic and professional /corporate perspective in the classroom is one of the areas that I feel Lewis U's MBA program excels. Most professors / instructors were very understanding about work and home responsibilities & conflicts. The vast majority of students are working adults with families. On a few rare occasions I witnessed professors / instructors push back on the small percentage of students who consistently had excessive missing assignments and absences. This was rare; most students did the work and were responsible. - Academic rigor / workload / difficulty I found the courses that comprise the program up to date, relevant, and most of all engaging. The topics covered were well thought out and delivered from my perspective. I like the design of the program. This program is in no way shape or form easy or a joke. It is totally possible to complete this program while having the responsible of a full time career and a family. You do need to "do the work" though! Most courses have, or in my experience had, a team related project. As with any team related activity, some team members were motivated and made great contributions, some did the bare minimum, others rode coattails. My understanding, from peers & colleagues over the years, is that the completion rates of the top tier programs in Chicago are low for students managing a career and family. The workload is just too much, 30 hours per week of work outside the classroom or something. That being said, Lewis U was definitely the right choice for me. - Flexibility I was able to utilize 3 different campuses and the online format (they use "Black Board" as their platform) to complete all the requirements. - Capstone / Thesis I was not required to prepare, complete, and defend a Thesis Statement. Instead, the completion of the program includes a Capstone Course when the better part of the requirements have been completed. Basically the requirements of this course are for you (within the framework of a team, my team consisted of 3 people) perform copious amounts of research on an assigned publicly traded company. The final grade of the course is based on a final presentation by the team in the capacity as upper management to the board of directors. The research methods taught in this course are worth the cost of the program in my opinion. - Summary My opinion is that the MBA program at Lewis University is high quality, well designed, and delivered. If you are considering adding an MBA to your resume this program has the potential to provide a high ROI. I look forward to becoming active alumni. read more

If the Admission Counselors so inept and rude, I wonder how the University is in general. My daughter attended College of DuPage to obtain her Early Education Certificate and to go on and earn her Bachelors in Early Education and Primary Grades. She went to the College of DuPage under their 2 plus 2 program. Which is a 2 year at an Junior College and finish up with 2 years at a University. She is under a full ride scholarship for College no matter where she goes. In addition she has earned scholarships from 2 other organizations. At the College of DuPage she was enrolled in high honors classes and receiving A= with her lowest grade an A-. She spoke to Lewis University in her freshman year as they were recruiting future graduates and they advised that since she was a 2 + 2 student, she could easily transfer over and still take classes at COD and a site in Oak Brook. Come just before the Fall term, she let them know she was ready. She left numerous messages with admissions and with their "transfer" department. When they finally did answer in late October, she met with the transfer counselor and admissions to finalize the paperwork she needed. After several weeks waiting to start classes in early January to finish her bachelor degree, they advised the forgot about her and she "fell through the cracks!" Excuse me, you are in contact with a student for over a year and a half and you "loose" her? Anyways my point this review is that they want her to take classes for four years and said "other" students have done this to complete their bachelors degree. When she reminded them she was a 2 +2 student and that she was promised to be transferred right into the classes they stated they forgot about her and that having re-do classes were her only option at full price, not the COD reduced price. So my take on this whole fiasco is if the Transfer and Admission Department are this inept how is the school over all. Seems to me this alleged Catholic University has no interest but the bottom line. There are better quality Universities out there. This is certainly not one of them! I WILL and WOULD NOT recommend this school to anyone. Unless of course you are niave and inept as the counselors! read more
