Kolby was really systematic in his approach. First, he helped identify what I was truly passionate about. Second, he was almost a therapist in the sense that he addressed the work insecurities I had. Once I was on board and believed that I could do the work I wanted to do and do it well, he edited my resume and cover letter and LinkedIn profile. Then we used the remaining sessions to do some interview preparation, and really worked on telling my story in an interesting way, and ensuring that the interviewers understood it too. What I like about his approach was that he taught me that interviews are just as much about me interviewing the company as it is about them interviewing me. It was a mindshift for me to be picky and protective about where I want to work too. Anyways, with Kolby's help, I landed at a great place that resulted in a 45% salary increase! also the work life balance is much better, and the type of work is interesting too.
