My husband is the patient at cCare and I come along to gather information, be of moral support, and…read moreadd my "2 cents" to his appointments. If you are coming to cCare, it is not because you want to be there. Cancer diagnosis and treatment is not fun. Although not fun, cCare does work hard to make your reoccurring visits go smoothly. Be prepared to wait. It is just the way it is. There are lots of patients, and even with many doctors, each appointment takes time. No one wants to feel rushed at times like this. They want to be heard and seen--both patient and medical personnel. The waiting areas are comfortable, and although there are two floors spread over a large building, directions are easy to follow. The staff works hard to help patients navigate their appointments. The one area that needs work is the area of calling patients and/or returning calls. The main switchboard does not have the doctor's information. It is hard to communicate with staff via phone.

The only reason CCare is not getting a 1 star is because Dr. Hackett seemed to genuinely care about…read morehis patients. Let's be honest, no one wants to have to come here in the first place, and some of the staff and the scheduling has bonded the experience so much worse. Twice now, I have had appointments scheduled only for them not to have it in their system. They have scheduled appointments without my knowledge that did not work in my schedule. Today, I showed up and no appointment in their system and apparently they don't have the infusion I need so someone in the lab just canceled my apt with no phone call. These appointments take around three hours so patients have to rearrange their schedules and lives to be here. Ive also been told multiple times that I would receive a call back only for it to never happen. Their normal doctor appointments seem efficient, I was called quickly and got labs and then into the doctors room relatively quickly. These appointments take lab/treatment side is very frustrating. The level of disorganization and complete lack of communication is disappointing and unacceptable.

Then called back a few hours later and was sent to a number to leave voice-mail. They said it'd be 2-4 days, I think; definitely within a week. Nobody ever called. It's been 7 WEEKS. Now I tried again. Was told to make selection for new patients, but there was no such option. So I tried the "General questions" option. That put me on hold, 3rd in queue. I hung up. Called main # again, this time went to the "speak with nurse" option. And again, I was 3rd in the queue. So, obviously, the "speak to a nurse" and the "appointments and general questions" lines are the same line. If I waited with no response after 20 minutes when I was first in line, I'm not about to wait when I'm 3rd In line! Why wasn't my call returned as promised the first time? Why don't you hire another person? It's not like people call a cancer center for a stubbed toe amd can affordto wait months. If you don't have enough doctors to handle the crowds, maybe you should tell.the community you're temporarily not accepting new patients. I'm very frustrated at the lack.of response.

Worst Cancer Center. I can't stress enough how incompetent and incompassionate their Doctors and…read morestaff are. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and they did NO additional imaging. Dr Anderson only used the mammogram for a lumpectomy. Telling me they don't do MRIs anymore. THREE TIMES SHE WOULD ATTEMPT TO GET THE MARGIN AND FAIL, AND CALLS IT GOOD AND SENDS ME TO RADIATION. I don't feel right so I go to MD Anderson (Houston, TX) where they do more imaging. They biopsy THE SAME AREA as my other three surgeries. POSITIVE. MDA sends me for an MRI. I end up with a Mastectomy where they find 6 cm more of cancer!! CCARE would have killed me had I just stayed with them. Oncologist, just as incompassionate telling me we're all going to die sometime! Staff laughing at me for being scared and researching the internet. Only researching because no one took the cancer serious! I can't stress enough NOT to go here. Go to Stanford! I get not everyone can go to MDA. Fortunate for me my family lives in Houston. Also, to note, I go in three times for surgery with CCARE and no mention of reconstruction, which other centers would have. I know this now after talking to others about lumpectomy reconstruction.

When test results mandate that you see an oncologist you can't help but to be nervous. The staff…read morehere at cCare is always warm, welcoming and very empathetic to all that are here. The facility is clean and they are well organized to see the 350 patients that come here daily
