I parked in the big lot of the community center and walked over. I brought some dinner along with me so I found a nearby bench to eat at while soaking up the lovely scenery. I was genuinely impressed by all the teaming blooms. It's not a huge garden, but it isn't small either, and it's clearly well maintained. I was grateful to see it looking so nice considering all the heat waves we've been subjected to as of late. I definitely saw some folks using it as a backdrop for their wedding photos. I took a few photos myself too, of course. Too pretty to not! The garden is broken down into smaller individual areas, specifically: the grand lawn, the labyrinth, the rose garden, the butterfly garden, the water garden, the native shrub garden, and the woodland restoration area. I definitely recommend checking it out! If I lived closer by, I'd probably bring a book or my journal regularly.

Through walking through and visiting the eye-catching boathouse architecture and the historic barn which is part of the estate, I learned about the history of the memorial which was originally developed around 1890 by Frederick Noerenberg, a brewer who was one of the first entrepreneurs to establish a year-round home at Lake Minnetonka. Although the family house was torn down and the will was to just preserve the estate the overall feel of the property is still defined by the non existent house. A little disappointed that there are no actual garden with flowers, but the landscape is still stunning and calming that I would like to revisit on my own time.

The bathrooms are locked in the off season, but there are porta potties. I went for a hike and it didn't disappoint. I found ducks, geese, and deer. The only weird thing is the park is designed so similarly to Hyland that it confused me a bit as far as navigating.

There is a beach, walking paths, bridges and off the beaten path dirt trails. We will be back to enjoy this beautiful park just off 494 and Rockford Rd in Plymouth.

It was especially cool since we hadn't seen a bathroom since Bryant and their facilities were nice (besides some amateur artist using her permanent marker for evil purposes). Upon my initial look over, I saw ideal picnic shelters, a small playground, and basketball hoops, and of course, a pristine view of the lake and a dock for further inspection (and Instagramming). It isn't a big lake by any means, but the trails around it provide a good shaded hike that are also mildly challenging--my Fitbit sent me a notification I hit 50 flights of stairs climbed from going from Bryant to Lone Lake and back. Clean facilities (water and bathrooms), pretty views, and good trails? Check, check, and check.

They have a covered picnic area with 4- 6 tables, lots of playground equipment including an adaptive swing. The kids have gone out on the dock and fished, a small cute lake. This place usually isn't too busy which is nice but in the summer there tends for be local camps using the area, but still plenty of wide open green space for all to share.
