Horrible attitude, work ethic, and sense of proffesionalism. The closing was also completely un orthodox. I do believe some people here do try their best, but that wasnt the case with the individuals i dealt with.

Through our own agent, we made an offer, which was accepted, along with our deposit check. We knew there would be a bit of a delay because it was a short sale and the bank has to approve the offer. Having bought a condo in the past that was a short sale, I knew this could take a while. Our agent kept in touch and everything seemed to be progressing. Three months later, our agent received an email "All potential buyers are asked to submit their "final and best" offer. I was confused. We had already done this and thought we were under contract. Apparently not. Shady business practices and all, we ended up ousted and someone else went under contract. I never found out what happened to them or if the house ever sold. The only thing I do know is that I will never do business with Marsha Couture again. And if this is the operating mentality of this real estate office overall, then I wouldn't do business with any of the other agents there either.

Last year, when I called to express a concern, the office manager with whom I spoke was very, very rude (she said she wanted to hang up on me), and when I asked her name, she gave me a very generic sounding name. I called one of the agents, told him her name, and he said that no one of that name worked there. I asked him to look at the phone records, but wouldn't. I lost money with this company....don't do the same....go somewhere else; you will be glad you did.

Prompt, courteous, polite and helpful employees. My family has been members here since the early 1970's..so yes..I've seen a lot of changes over the decades. It used to be for working school teachers only and their families. I liked it better that way as it was more focused and personal. But as the years passed it slowly became moreso like a regular bank. Times change but I'm ok with what Ellafi is now. I will continue to use them in Middletown.

Been a member for years now. Went to Ellafi branch Middletown to withdraw some funds with my ATM…read morecard on a weekend. ATM stated PIN was incorrect and spit out my card. This happened twice. I was confused as I did not change my PIN. Reprogrammed my PIN successfully by phone & went to a different bank to withdraw said funds and message given that card had expired. I repeated the process and same thing. Called customer service to see what was going on. They stated per their system my card expired. My card was issued just months ago and didn't expire until 2029. Funds requested were in the account. Was told I would need another card they could send in the mail that would take time or I could visit their branch which was a problem because I needed the money at that time. Also told I might need to pay a fee as my card expired per them, which was not true; totally some internal error by them. Referred to customer service for a new card and told they were closed/after hours at 6pm. & I would have to try tomorrow morning. Tried to be creative and send my funds to an external account. This process was denied by Ellafi even though I used plaid to connect both accounts. Ellafi can apparently receive funds from my external account, but can't send them to that external account. My money is currently tied up until I can visit a branch or request another card in person which I was unable to do as I'm leaving town for a trip. I do not recommend Ellafi. I think they are too small to handle any matters outside of very simple banking & if I didn't have a loan with Ellafi, I would close my accounts altogether. Ellafi is the former Seasons FCU.

As of 7/24/20 the loan is still NOT closed and it has been one excuse after another. So far Empire has asked for 4 extensions of the closing date. Buyr's agent says they are now asking for new paperwork, another underwriting review and appraiser need to go back out to property AGAIN! HONESTLY I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY NOT A GREAT TRACK RECORD AND MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICER DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ON TOP OF IT.

Not only did they shut down the Cromwell site which made it inconvenient for the Middletown residents that live on the Cromwell/ Middletown line. because you have to drive across town to do anything that entails you entering the bank. The drive up ATM that I use to use is closed. When you go to the drive up teller there are limits to what they can do at the drive thru. I have to go to the main office and go in to make deposits to do any banking and its at a machine. I have literally waited in line and saw older people that still bank there have difficulty even making a deposit because its not a person its a big kiosk you approach to do your banking with. I would rather bank with a real bank, That have people, there in front of you to help you, not at a machine with a person on a screen that looks like they are right in the back room of the same building. Also when I have foreign checks I have to physically go into the bank / which is fine. But they literally make me wait almost a month to convert a Canadian check to American money. Sometimes its not even a big about. I had a check from my late uncles estate . They could not cash it (even though I had the court documents allowing me to ) I went down the street to the "other " bank that I use and they cashed it right there and then. Also was not a big dollar amount. Now what tops it off is the fact that they have a feature in your checking account that allows you to "LOCK" your card. And guess what ..... they still let transactions go through and charge you the courtesy fee. When I messaged the bank to let them know that was an error to see if they would reverse the charges the rep went back and forth with me via email ALL day about how they could not, how sorry they were, sure..... They have time to do that but no time to have actual people there in the bank to assist you in person. I am done. Thanks but no thanks. No need for a rebuttal.
