We would go through dozens of towels and often run 5-gallon shopvacs to try to keep streams of water from flowing across the floor and pooling into the finished part of our basement. Finally, I had enough. I called a few basement repair companies to come in, survey the problem, and give us estimates. At our initial walk-through, Dave was adamant that the insulation between floor joists would need to be removed in order to remove any mold that may be hidden above the insulation, and then replaced. Other companies that gave us quotes made no mention of having to remove and replace the insulation. In the end, I'm very glad we went with this company, as Dave and his crew discovered significant mold hidden behind the insulation - this mold would have remained if we had gone with a different company! I will say the we did pay more overall than other quotes that we received, but I have no regrets because I know that the job was completed thoroughly and properly. The crew arrived on time both days they were here, and Dave was excellent at keeping us updated during the removal process, sending pictures and letting us know what was going on. They disposed of a LOT of clutter from the basement for us, and cleaned everything thoroughly.
