We signed our contract in June 2023 and after some communication problems just after the holidays work on our repairs began February 20th. The repairs took eight days . Marcus, Brielyn and sometimes Ethan worked hard from 8 AM until past dark everyday in horrible cold, rainy and windy weather until the repairs were complete. We're very happy with the results. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. When you pay tens of thousands for service, it should be top notch. I'll start from the beginning: I met Ethan at a local log home show. He was extremely knowledgeable and sold me on media blasting versus corn cob for our home. He came out to our home and gave us a quote, and was very talkative and friendly, and we felt confident we had chosen the right company. We were originally quoted 4-6 days for the job. Once our deposit and paperwork were submitted, I had to continually reach out to keep status of when the work would be completed. We were originally told a crew would be out in June. Due to weather that was pushed back which is understandable. The original crew that was coming canceled. I was once told the prior customer had too many problems with the crew, and once told the head of the crew had family issues, so who knows. Then I was told Ethan and his crew would come out. That again got changed to another crew. Once they did arrive, well over a month past when they were supposed to, the communication and work was sub par. The crew would show up at noon and work until 9pm, rather than working normal business hours. It was horrible to even be in our home because of the noise. It took two weeks for them to complete the job that was originally quoted at 4-6 days. Also, during this work they showed me their addendum of work they were to complete and the insecticide and mildewcide were crossed off saying our home was not to get the treatment. The signed copy I had, showed we were to get the treatment. We left for the weekend and when we came back the crew was gone saying they had finished. In the process they broke our front porch light and then left us touch up materials. Why would we need touch up materials if they had completed the job? There were over 20 areas that we took pictures of that had not been blasted/sanded appropriately. We submitted them, and the crew came back out for another week of work. In the mean time we had to contact a lawyer to send a letter saying we were entitled to the mildewcide and insecticide. This time, Ethan came out and applied the mildewcide and insecticide. Unfortunately we had just poured concrete, and he said he couldn't spray the areas where it would fall onto the fresh concrete. So again, the job wasn't technically completed. Ethan came on a Monday afternoon. He left around 6:30pm and came back around 7am. I left the house at 7:15 and by 7:45 he called saying they were done and asking for a check. If they had that little of work left, why would they stay overnight in a hotel and come back the next day? So my husband had to leave his work and come home to give them the check. Why hadn't he just told me they were almost done when I was leaving and said hello to him? Overall this was a miserable experience and I would never recommend this company to anyone! read more

This company refinished my 40-year-old log cabin near Martinsburg, WV last fall. They did an excellent job and the crew was very professional - showing up as scheduled, working hard in challenging weather, and cleaning up afterwards. The transformation to my home's exterior was remarkable. There was some touch-up work that we had difficulty scheduling. After about four months of trying, I just decided to do it myself. We bought a small log cabin in Berkeley Springs WV that needed maintenance. Went to a log home show, talked with three companies, had visits by all three with estimates for stripping, pressure washing, and blasting to remove old stain and re-stain, the exterior and the attached decking. Also included blasting and staining new fascia boards as the old ones had a lot of carpenter bee holes and woodpecker damage. All of companies seemed knowledgeable and pretty down to earth. LBMR had the lowest estimate and good advice from colors, glosses, order of things to be done (stain, re-roof, etc.), etc. Their office staff (Mitzi) was great to work with on timing, colors, payments, etc. The workmen (Ethan and Matt) were knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and very hard working. The job took 8 days (including two weathered out due to rain). They glass bead blasted the entire surface except decking, Osborne brushed the exterior, washed and air-blew off, applied Perma-Chink Prelude, two coats of Perma-Chink stain, and a high-gloss top coat (turns flat to satiny due to bead blasting texture). They kept us involved in all aspects of the project. We're very please to have a much more natural wood look now compared to the dark red-ish brown it was. We'll see how it holds up with regular washings. We're very pleased with the outcome and would gladly have LBMR back to work again. One recommendation: If you have your log home blasted, no matter by who, take the time and effort to seal off the entire inside walls against the ceiling. No matter how well you "think" the walls are caulked, high pressure blasting will find the smallest gap and you'll end up vacuuming...a lot! We put up thin big box store plastic sheeting and thought it was good enough to tape it up randomly with painters tape; we wish we'd taken more time to seal it better. At least it told us where we needed to caulk better! The result was worth it, but we could have saved ourselves a lot of clean up by sealing the plastic sheeting better. read more
