The hospitality in this place is second to none. I came in at about 7:30am on a Saturday because I was in the area much too early than I needed to be. Kathy greeted me warmly with a smile and informed me I can sit wherever I'd like. I felt so welcomed. There were many seats at the breakfast bar and many tables available. I chose to sit at an empty two top table. The place is very spacious and well lit. Kathy took my order quickly and everything came out quickly, exactly as I ordered and it tasted delicious. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on a role with raw white onions and hot sauce. They did not skimp on the onions or chicken and I loved it so much. I will definitely be back to this place and I recommend anyone in the neighborhood looking for a delicious and affordable breakfast to come here ! This diner doesnt have the classic railcar look to it. It is a normal storefront. From the look of it I wasn't too impressed. It is kind of a little dingy when you walk in. Looks like the place needs a sprucing up. The menu had all the diner classics. I stuck with the omelette with swiss and tomato. It was not good. The omelette was runny and did not taste seasoned at all. My friend got the turkey club and he didnt like it either. The good news was it had wifi which is sometimes doesnt happen at diners. Please note that the name of the establishment is "Liberty Diner". The name that Yelp has appears old and suggests that it is breakfast place specializing in just donuts and coffee. The place is really an excellent Diner that is chock full of great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My family and I always order our Dinner entrees from Liberty because their food is always delicious. I pick up the prepared food about 15 minutes after I call. I am fortunate to live two short blocks away from the Diner. Kathy, who is the owner, usually picks up the phone when I call. She is cheerful and always grateful for our orders. It is always good to see her and chat about how we are doing as I pick up my food orders from her. I highly recommend Liberty Diner. Give it a try and make sure to ask for Kathy! read more

This is my new favorite diner. It's an adorable little diner and really makes you feel at home. The employees are all so sweet and patient. Almost every time I have gone in, Thomas was our server and he is such a sweetheart, he always makes us feel welcome and he also checks in a good amount of times during the meal to make sure everything is good and we have what we need. The food is always great. I do have to say, their apple fritters are THE best, I am not exaggerating. Ah, my first diner review. In the conclusion of my high school experience diners were the only places I'd go to to enjoy the waning days of my youth, so I'd like to think I know a thing or two about diners. At least about diners in this area of the Bronx. There's nothing flashy and I can't really say there is actually anything particularly special about this diner. You probably wouldn't have even notice it was a diner unless you lived in the area but thankfully my chubby Morris Park resident friend was in the mood for some sit in coffee. Anywho, I didn't expect much from this place because diner burgers and chicken parmesans never usually meet up to other restaurant standards when you've lived in New York long enough. I wonder how New Jersey diner burgers taste. Fun Fact: New Jersey has the most diners in the world and is sometimes referred to as the diner capital of the world. Anyways, after not having gone to a diner in so long, I've decided to go back to my original ways for old times sake and ordered chicken fingers. You could never go wrong with chicken fingers, and man, I was not disappointed. I mean they taste like any other diner's chicken fingers, but the only problem I had with this place was that I only had four strips. Quoc Quoc sad. But they certainly make up the lost chicken strip with their excellent service. I guess I'm only writing this review for the service because as soon as we were seated, the waitress had already started socializing with us. At one point she mentioned her daughter, which I thought was a nice way to get personal with her customers. She wasn't in any rush to get our orders and when we did finish, she was very attentive on the status' of our coffee. Food came on a comfortable timely manner and even joked around with us occasionally. I don't know. I just like nice service and their cake was delicious. 4 stars was a group decision. A GROUP DECISION! And I think the tax came out to be lower than what it should've been. read more

I believe a good ol' American cheeseburger with french fries and a pickle is a staple at diners. I ordered a Swiss Cheeseburger Deluxe that came with my burger, fries, pickle, cole slaw, lettuce, and tomato. I ordered my patty medium-rare. The fries were COLD, not crispy at all. The patty was more like medium rather than medium rare. The pickle was limp and didn't look fresh. It didn't have that stiffness and crunch! The buns on the burger were very thin and didn't hold the burger together. It was so soggy with all the mayo and butter. The cabbage in the cole slaw wasn't crunch. It didn't smell fresh. Overall, if you're looking for a quick burger fix you wouldn't satisfy it here. However, points for the staff and cozy welcoming atmosphere. read more

I give this diner high marks first and foremost because it doesn't have a huge screen television on, (a pet peeve of mine, if I wanted to watch tv I'd stay home!) nor do they have some depressing popular radio station playing which is proliferate at the restaurants and nail establishments here in Morris Park/Pelham Parkway. I had a decent Italian omelet which came with home fries, coffee, juice, toast and then I ordered a muffin all for $10.60! You cant beat the price.
