    Burrata

I would never say no to an Italian sandwich!! That's why I subwayed an hour up to the Bronx just to try Beli's top 10 sandwiches in the country. I got the Burrata on ciabatta, and inside it has fresh burrata, arugula, sun dried tomatos, balsamic glaze, and prosciutto. It tasted good but it wasn't mind-blowing good. I wouldn't have known this was ranked highly unless you told me so. The cheese was super fresh though. I just found the tomatoes to be overpowering in flavor and ended up throwing out the top bun of the ciabatta because it was just too bready. I respect the sheer quality of the ingredients. good service in the shop. Authentic in what they do. Glad I tried it but will unlikely go again.

I was in Little Italy, and it's hard not to stop for some fresh mozzarella. Pro tip, bring cash!! +3% fee for credit card. Food & Service: 5/5 There's no sit-down service here, but they're incredibly fast. I ordered a hero and a large order of mozzarella to go, and it took less than 20 minutes. Everything was prepared right in front of me, which made the experience even better. Ambiance: 5/5 The space is definitely tight -- you'll have to go single file to get in and out -- but it's homey in the best way. Watching them make your sandwich and fresh mozzarella in real time adds to the charm. Food Highlights: I got the Italian combo, which came with a thick slice of fresh mozzarella that was practically dripping, paired with generous portions of deli meats. Add in a perfectly crunchy hero roll, and it was the perfect lunch. Overall: A classic Little Italy stop. Simple, fresh, and worth every bite.

Do you ever have experiences that throw you into an existential crisis? That is exactly what happened when I had a bite of "The Casa" sandwich. Trust me when I say this is the best deli sandwich I've had in my entire life. Where had I been for 32 years? And why wasn't it on Arthur Ave having a few of these a month? I am still asking myself so many questions. Anyway, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes (I subbed the peppers), and balsamic vinegar on a hero. That's all there was to it. And what a glorious combo it was! I intended to get The Casa on ciabatta for a more sensible sized sandwich, but the food gods were looking out for me. Turns out CDM had ran out by the time I got there (Friday, after 4p) so I had no choice but to get the hero. When I saw how thick they had piled on the goods, I thought there was no chance I was going to finish the whole thing. I even allowed myself to get excited for leftovers, lol. I should have known better because I definitely ate the whole thing and am not sure I would have wanted to share. So hot tip...just get your own!! I think it was extra good because I couldn't eat it for an hour after I bought it and everything was marinating in that balsamic deliciousness. There is no place to eat inside as the store is very narrow. If you have no self control and need to dig in immediately, there is a nearby park. The sandwich is also packed nicely and can lend itself to a walk and eat situation but honestly The Casa deserves your full and undivided attention. It's just soooo good. Enjoy!

Very sad to give this rating as I'm always keen to promote and praise small businesses. I'm as anti-corporation as it gets, and love to give mom and pop establishments preferential treatment with my wallet. However, the cashier that helped us was particularly rude and curt, rushing us every 5 seconds to place an order. Even though we stressed that it was our first time coming in from Brooklyn with family with France/Italy, the cashier was unnecessarily rude and insistent on pushing us out. We also base our taste buds on frequenting the hometown of my partner in Italy (Lazio/Cassino), where the region is the most famous for its fresh, affordable buffalo mozzarella. We're quick by nature to order in general and used to NYC fast paced living for the past 5-10 years of living here - we really just wanted 5 minutes to glance at all the cheeses before placing an order. We ended up dropping almost $100 here for super rude service, some mozzarella, imported Italian cheeses, and questionable burrata. Upon turning the corner, we were treated with much nicer hospitality at the other shops, such as Vincent's and Teitel's. Owners, please train your staff to deliver optimal and quality customer service...this will ensure repeat business and referrals...

Visited here on a rainy Sunday and even with bad weather, this place always has a line! It's a very tight space with no seating, so be aware of that going in. They offer a variety of sandwiches, meats, cheeses, and also packaged items. The pricing is also extremely reasonable for the portion size of what you get. We ordered the Casa and the Positano. Unfortunately we were given the Pistachio instead of the Positano, but it was still good! As a heads up, their pistachio oil is more of a cream than a light oil. We ordered a medium sized mozzarella to take home and it was so fresh. Excited to come back!

"My Italian college professor raved about this place back in 2011, and 14 years later, I finally made the trek out here! I was visiting the Botanical Gardens and noticed the shop was nearby. The store is quite small and a bit cramped... you pull a number and wait outside until it's your turn. They use a speaker system to call you in. We ordered the Calabrese and were both in love. It was a decadent sandwich, unlike anything we've had before. The shop also carries a wide array of Italian groceries: snacks, pastas, sauces, and more. If you're a fan of Italian products, go there immediately

Amazing sandwiches!!! I recently just learned about Arthur Avenue being an old school Italian gem neighborhood. The sandwiches here are truly awesome!!! The fresh mozzarella was to die for. It's 7 mins away from Bronx zoo and we tend to order here before entering in the zoo.

Short and sweet. This place lived up to the hype. I got two sandwiches, including the Bronx bomber, which was spicy a bit, sweet savory and just explosively good. The Bronx is a little out of the way for me, but we're so happy I was in the area and finally got the chance to try this place. The sandwiches were truly incredible and I can't wait to come back.

One of my favorites sandwich shops in nyc! It's so fresh and delicious and fair amount of ingredients. It's all the time a line, but it's moving very fast. Must buy their homemade salted mozzarella, it's unbelievable good. My fav ciabatta sandwich is the casa.

    They have everything!

OMG! This is the spot! Worth the trip, worth the line! Legit and authentic Italian specialty store! Fresh Mozzarella is the best anywhere and made in the back! Unbelievable cheese selection! Hanging dry sausages! Cold cuts! Olives! Eggplant! Everything delicious!

What a place it's not just any place this place is pretty cool to visit and the food was great. I ordered one of the sandwiches and this thing had so much meat I could have made four sandwiches out of it . Delicious and fresh meat and bread and the people working there were really nice and welcoming . I will definitely come back to this jewel of a place when I'm back in beautiful New York City .

I still come here very often and even after two years I still believe this is an amazing place to get Italian sandwiches. Staff are very friendly and they seemed to have gotten a newer variety of Italian products. Sandwiches are still made quickly and filled to the brim. Worth every penny if you are in the area make sure to stop by with an empty stomach!

    Courtney L.

The shop is so quaint and has the old Italian feel. I got the vegetariano with Basalmic. It was a good size and loaded with soft Mozarella. The vegetables and eggplant had great flavor and the parts that had Basalmic were perfect. I would have liked the bread toasted and more Basalmic so next time I'll ask for that. Service was great and friendly.

Oh baby, they are large and in charge. Why I walked out with one box still boggles my mind because I should have bought 3. I'm not in the area too often and the extra boxes would have carried me through the winter. I hand over my cash and the gentleman says God Bless to me. I'm not getting blessings on Long Island!
