Ok, I have to add to the Five Star love fest for Advantage. Spring busted over the weekend. Wasn't horrible so we were going to call Monday morning. Called the first company and the voicemail was short and unprofessional. Called advantage and Michael picked up and very courteously took my info. To my surprise, he said he could be out in a couple of hours. Despite massive rain and atl traffic, showed up on time. Very courteous, obviously knew what he was doing. Replaced both springs and tuned up the chain for me. Ended up paying a little less than the last spring replacement, and that was 9 years ago. Great company, really impressed. read more

Awesome company! Wish I could give more than 5 stars. I had a self-inflicted mishap with my door yesterday and needed the springs reset in order to be able to open it. Essentially my car was trapped inside. Spoke to Michael, the owner, in the morning and after describing what had happened and also sending him two pics, he gave me a very reasonable quote and said he would be able to get to it in a few hours. And he did! When he came and looked there were no "surprises" and he soon had it fixed and additionally did some further tuning up to that garage door. It works better than it ever had. When I went inside to pay him I came back and he was tightening some bolts that had loosened up on the other garage door. There was only one bad review for this company when I did my research. That review had to do with Advantage not showing up and not contacting the customer after an appointment had been made and confirmed, just the night before. I thought, "well, the other reviews are great and I'm going to go ahead and contact Advantage - I'm sure the no-show won't happen to me." HA!! The company was very prompt in a response to my request for an estimate and seemed very polite and professional. I decided to go ahead and hire Advantage on a Tuesday and was told that he could probably get to me the following Monday or Tuesday. That was fine. When I didn't hear anything about specific scheduling by the end of that week, I contacted Advantage on Monday morning - one of the two days he said he could probably get to me. He said he could come the next day (Tuesday) between 2 and 4 or perhaps it might end up being between 4 and 6 at the latest. I said, "great, see you then." I then rearranged all of my business conference calls, so that when he arrived on Tuesday afternoon, I would be available. TL;DR - No Call, No Show I had a very good conversation with Mike the night before he was supposed to come and fix my garage door. He asked a lot of questions, wanted to be as prepared as possible, even asked for pictures of the broken part ahead of time, so that he could be fully prepared before getting on site. The morning of the job, I sent him a text with some additional details, and discussing upgrading the wall switches for the doors as well. He responded positively, and I was expecting everything to go smoothly. My appointment was at 7:00 PM. Evening appointments were a big selling point for me, and he specifically said he prefers evening appointments due to his class schedule. 7:00 PM came and went, and I didn't hear from him. 7:30 and still nothing 8:00 PM I sent a text to check on our status, and received no response. 8:30 I tried to call, and he hung up on me. I don't know what changed overnight, but a no call, no show doesn't fly with me. Things happen, and had he contacted me to reschedule, it would have been no big deal. However, I don't appreciate having my time wasted when one text would have settled the matter. Extremely unprofessional behavior. read more

Exceptional service! So Michael just left my house and I was so impressed with his service and ability that I had to leave a review before I even do anything else. So I had somewhat of an "emergency" situation. The cables on each of my garage doors snapped in the same day so we were left with 0 functioning garage doors. Michael promised to come out the same day so that our week wouldn't be interrupted. Eye diagnosed the problem immediately after looking at all of the pulleys and he told me what needed to be done. There were a couple things he didn't have so he went to Home Depot to grab those and came right back and diligently fixed everything *AND* even repaired a few issues as a preventative measure. You don't realize how convenient life is until something goes wrong, such as your automatic garage door not opening. Apparently, we had broken springs. Of course the only person we would call is Michael because he's the best, and his business card is stapled to our garage wall next to our button. Michael was so kind to come out and repair our garage the next day. He is so courteous that I caught him working in our dark garage with his headlamp on instead of knocking on our door and asking us to turn on the lights. What a nice guy! My garage door was bent and off the rails after my wife backed her van accidentally. I called two reputed firms very highly rated. Both of them where very knowledgeable and told me I have to replace 2 sections and that I am looking at 750 bucks to repair or 850 bucks to replace the garage..of course the latter is what they recommended. One of the companies even threw in a 100 buck discount on the new door. So I was sitting down and pondering this new 700 dollar expense when I decided to call Michael. Seriously...this kid is a gem. I am just glad there are still people like this in this world, especially in the new generation. Truthful, honest and straight forward. He said if I dont mind couple of small dents, he can fix the whole thing without any replacements. He came over at 7PM and was done by 8PM, the door looking great and working smooth. All for less than 140 bucks. Even then he was trying hard to do more without charging. I wish there are Michael like this in every profession that I come across. I wish he could do everything beyond Garage doors but if he wants to go big and wants me to invest in his company, I will. Michael is a good guy. He came over and gave me options on a new garage door. My new home renovation involved turning a carport into a garage. Once my superintendent had gotten another garage door company that had screwed the pooch on the door, involving more money before a door was even made, I stepped in and took over. I looked on Yelp and Michael had good reviews. We stayed in touch and he hooked us up with a great new door, motor, keypad and the whole hardware set at what I think was a competitive price. I'm an electrical contractor myself so I can spot a good (or bad) contractor when I see one. He had the door we wanted installed two days later. I was pleased. He did exactly what he said he would. Although I think he subs out his new installs and mainly does repairs himself, he makes sure it is done right. Had used Mike w/Advantage previously and was very satisfied-honest, very fair pricing and did a great job. When my garage door wouldn't open last year, I wanted him that day but he was booked, but assured me he could come the next day. How dumb on my part to be impatient and call another company. Big mistake. Told me I needed a new motor/opener and it would be $749 which I said was too much. Like a car salesman, he called his office to see if he could offer it to me for less, which would at least offset the service call charge. Paid $635 for the least expensive one available. This week, just 9 months after getting the new opener, the chain sounded like it was bringing down the ceiling. Called MIke w/Advantage. The chain was not as it should be; also, when Mike replaces opener, he places new sensors which the other company did not. The worst part-Mike installs the opener I replaced for about $350 AND replaces sensors. That's quite a difference in costs. When Mike left, everything was working perfectly.
