I went out of my way to finish this yelp review, usually stick to google but this was needed to be said. I unfortunately do not live near Liberty Lanes, but I'm now regularly driving out of my way to visit due to their excellent training program. I'm only a few months into bowling but love it so far, so I wanted to get lessons to learn how to bowl properly. Three closer bowling alleys offer nothing, but I kept hearing people mention Liberty so I checked it out. Turns out they have an excellent pro instructor Carmen, and she's backed up by the owner Alex on days she isn't there. Check the schedules in advance, but at the time of this writing they offer a class twice each week, very good, and honestly they could double the price and it would still be well worth it (hopefully they don't read this review). Both of them follow the same curriculum and spend a huge amount of time with you, even in a group setting. Besides that, Liberty offers other benefits I haven't seen at other alleys. You can get a subscription card for unlimited open bowling during earlier hours of weekdays. You can earn points on your spend for future credits. My boyfriend bowls here in a bowling league, and we've also come in for fun. Liberty Lanes is a small and old fashioned bowling center, but it's full of fun and great people who serve their community. Liberty Lanes offers different specials, like late night bowling, glow bowling, or a bowling-pizza combo. The lanes and equipment aren't the newest, but they all work and very straight forward to use. Everything is clean, and it's a smoke-free environment. They have a really awesome bar area that serves classic American bar fare. The bar has a full service, sit-down area, or you can go to the counter and order food to your lane. There are tvs inside to watch sports games, and they serve all day long, breakfast to dinner. we vacationed for a week to Clearwater, and the last two days of our stay were pretty rainy, so we opted for an indoor activity on a Monday afternoon. Liberty Lanes was our destination. What we found was a decent, typical bowling alley, with a nice bar and impressive game room inside. Overall, the facility is in nice shape. Electronic scoring is great. Our lanes never broke down during our 2-hour of playing. We had a group of 5 (including a 3yo and an 8yo). We opted for the $9.99 special, which included 2 hours of unlimited bowling. A word to the wise -- that is not a good deal if you are bowling with kids. We spent $50 for two hours, but we only made it through 2 1/2 games since the kids bowl much slower than the adults. We probably should have just paid by the game. I was impressed that the bumpers are automated here. So, when the kids bowled, the bumpers would come up. When the adults bowled, the bumpers lowered. I had never seen that at a bowling facility. My nephew enjoyed the impressive game room after we bowled. My brother ate the fried mushrooms and french fries. He seemed to enjoy both of those. I also had to chuckle at the fact that the bar owner is clearly a Chicago fan. There were Chicago Bears signs/jerseys all over the place. read more

I would give 0 starts but I don't think I can. This place absolutely sucks. When we were bowling the bar came down in the middle of us bowling and the bowling ball hit the bar. The machine started doing that I've rand over agin while we were bowling. You might think it's normal but the bar was only going down when it was time for us to bowl. The machine broke itself and shut down. It kept restarting and shutting down over and over. We got yelled at and blamed for this even though we did nothing. The worker here was super rude to us and didn't believe us when we told them what happened. He claimed to have seen that we threw the bowling ball at the wrong time when we have witnesses to prove otherwise. TL;DR - Deceptively nice, family friendly bowling alley As I got out of my car in this dimly lit parking lot to go cyber bowling, my spidey senses were tingling. With my rape whistle on hand, I cautiously but hurriedly walked by a couple of old sketchy men smoking outside the bowling alley entrance. As I got inside, I was completely expecting to be met with a wall of cigarette smoke and punk teenage hoodlums. Instead, I surprisingly found myself in a clean, smoke-free, family friendly environment. A couple of mom's even felt it was okay to bring their 1 year old babies that particular night! My girlfriend and I paid 26 bucks total for unlimited bowling until 2AM and shoe rental. If you want to make cyber bowling, drunk-cyber bowling, there's a full liquor bar with very reasonable prices inside. Didn't feel like drinking so we decided to do fatty-cyber bowling and ordered a bunch of fried goods from the non-price gouging snack bar instead. Relatively up to date lanes and monitors with some minor malfunctions here and there but the staff was always quick and helpful if we had any problems I definitely recommend this place to anybody on that side of the bay. read more

My parents bowl at a weekly league here and I used to come here as a reward for good grades sponsored by my elementary school growing up. That being said, the sense of small town community is really strong here, and I appreciate that about Liberty Lanes. If you ignore the really sketchy looking parking lot and dilapidated looking building outside, you'll pleasantly find an extremely clean and pleasant bowling alley! Bathrooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly, even if you're a bowling noob like myself. The food (and drinks) aren't bad either! I suggest the nachos or turkey club if you're looking for food. They also have a pretty well-stocked bar with all the normal faves on Tap as well as some local crafts. The bartenders know what they're doing too! We've ordered a lot of specialty shots from them in my family. Whether or not that helps our bowling average...well, that's another story. If you're in the area looking for some family friendly fun, give this place a try. read more

On a Wednesday night this place was pretty busy! It ended up being about $22 for two people for two games plus shoes. At first I thought it was a spectacular deal at less than $4 per game. However, we found out that it is not one game per lane, but a game per person. Therefore, for two of us it was around $8 per game. Not horrible, but not as great as I thought it was. The price actually changes depending on the time. It is also different for seniors and I believe kids. The lanes are pretty old, but clean. The computers are really old, but they work fine. There are bowling balls scattered on racks throughout the building so it is easy to find balls. There are over 27 lanes (not many more, but we were at lane 27 and were close to the end), to give you an idea of how big this place is. There is also a place you can eat and drink if you don't want to eat and drink while bowling. It seriously looks like a bar inside a bowling alley. There are huge t.v.s inside and everything. There are also t.v.s between the scoreboards, so you can watch college basketball or whatever sport is playing. You can either pay before or after you bowl. This is a great idea, because even though we thought we only wanted to play one game, after playing, we decided we wanted to play another. This was no problem since we paid at the end. So I made the mistake of not trying the food last time I was here, dismissing it as bowling alley food, which I tend to despise. But I was completely and utterly blown away by their food. So good. Like I'm thinking of going back there today and getting carry out good. I ordered their pizza and something called pizza sticks. First the pizza - average price (about $15 for a 16 inch) but the ingredients are high quality, ironically, from the cheese to the meat to the crust, all amazing. Easily one of the best pizzas I've had in Florida. And I still can't believe I'm saying that about bowling alley food. Now, the pizza sticks. When I was in Chicago, I used to go to Wisconsin quite often, and many of the bars up there had mozzarella sticks that were wrapped in wonton. I thought it was one of the greatest culinary inventions ever. But I've failed miserably trying to find that in Florida, until now. The pizza sticks are incredible mozzarella cheese and pepperoni wrapped in the aforementioned wonton wrap. Like an egg roll, but really good stuff inside instead of vegetables and crap. Pretty pricey, around $5.50 for only three sticks, but absolutely worth it. Oh yeah, and we bowled. Cosmic bowling; it was fun. But their cosmic bowling is only ok. They need more effects, lights and the music has to be louder. But I'd bowl through many mediocre cosmic bowling nights if they promise to not change a thing about their pizza and pizza sticks. read more

This bowling place is a little hidden behind an Animal Hospital. This was my 1st time going so I could tell the bowling lanes, billboard and game room looked new but I didn't feel it super clean or organized. Paid for a game and was sent to the number lane only to have to go back to counter and directed to another lane. The keyboard looked old too. We went to Liberty Lanes tonight after being treated poorly by Seminole Lanes. Seminole does have about double the lanes and more updated through out the alley, but Liberty Lanes' bowling lanes, monitors and general bowling area are definitely more updated. We purchased the $9.99 all you can bowl plus shoes tonight. This is a great deal, especially with a drink ticket included. Between 11:30-12:50 using league style bowling, we were able to crank out 4 games. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Definitely a hidden gem. It didn't receive a five star solely because of the whole building not being updated. The service is what gave it 4. 4 1/2 personally. read more

Very clean atmosphere and they recently renovated the bowling alley to include a game room for kids, the lanes are wonderful and the owner really cares about the future of bowling. The environment for the bowling Part was awesome! Very clean lanes reasonable prices. The food was better then expected and not bad pricing on beer. However once you go over to the sports bar part it turns into a dump. Mind you I am a dive bar goer the appearance of the bar is not what made it a dump. The bartenders are crude and tasteless. I was charged an additional tip on my bill even though I gave cash. All the girls behind the bar seemed to only care about their regulars (the whole whopping 4 of them) and some drunk guys at the end of the bar feeding them shots and giving them attention! Had a great time here last night. Clean, well run place. Good beer and food available in their pub. Staff was helpful and friendly.

My wife and I enjoy bowling here for the most part, but the girl with the red hair (in her late 40's) needs to find another profession. All the other employees here are very friendly, but this lady has one of the worst attitudes we've ever seen. We take are kids there frequently, but whenever she assigns the lanes, she puts us right next to another party, even when 80% of the lanes are not being used. Sorry for sounding petty, but also don't ask for water if she's tending the snack bar. She likes putting your water in a 6oz paper cup, when the other employees use the large styrofoam ones. I guess she's upset that you're not buying a drink. Hopefully we're the only ones who've had bad experiences with her. read more
