Dennis approaches me about a refi. Okay. When I have questions though, I can't reach him via…read morephone or email. I wait on him... a week, maybe? Doesn't matter because I'm adamant that I will not sign docs, etc. until I speak with him. Today, I felt the overwhelming urge for about 20 minutes to donate money to Nations Lending and I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you why. I was leaving work and decided to call a number that had called me. When I dialed 216 532 2134, I totally expected spam. But no! I get a guy named Brian. So apparently Brian can't afford to pay somebody to record a message that the caller is actually reaching a bonafide business. Poor guy can't even answer the phone with the company name. Just a 'Hi, this is Brian.' Took me a few seconds to put 2 and 2 together and ask. He sounded proud when he told me his title. Like I give a shit. But the title isn't about me, it's about him. Self-worth and all that foolishness. Brian didn't appear to have a last name either. A title but no last name. You can buy those, I'm sure. If not on Amazon, maybe Harrod's. Yeah, definitely Harrod's. So for 20 minutes this afternoon, I felt the urge to help Brian out and contribute to his buying a last name and a phone recording. (INSERT Sarah McLachlan "Angel" music here, focusing on a sad-looking phone rather than a stray dog) He informs me that Dennis is 'no longer involved' with my refi. Okay.... so can Brian explain to me why I'm getting boilerplate emails from Dennis (or somebody pretending to him)? I'm guessing no because Brian sidesteps into another subject. People who do that expect stupid people like me to sidestep too. I don't think so. I'm not impressed with titles nor long spews of verbal vomit. Let's move on. Dennis calls me back. I told him I have no idea what the turnaround time is for Nations Lending to return emails, phone calls, etc. but I'm not impressed with whatever it is and I don't deserve it. I should have ask their HR to send me their policy on that. I don't even know what Brian has to do with me, to be honest. Anywho, 20 minutes has passed accompanied by the death of that feeling to donate money. If I wait long enough, I'm sure I'll be hearing Sarah McLachlan and feel the need to give money to some other worthy cause... I have to update my photos here. Dennis is 'no longer involved' but gosh, you know... maybe Brian can't read English because Dennis' name is as clear as day on today's docs.

Once they get your unrefundable $600 inflated appraisal fee, everything seems to go downhill from…read morethere. First, you find out their appraiser "pool" comes from a source showing a 1.5-star online review status; then, you're assigned an appraiser whose "out of business," in less than 30 days; after; of course, said appraiser fails to acknowledge recent pertinent costly improvements made to both home and property, records blatant errors in the final report; and, most negatively impacts your lending options. If you voice your concerns, effective communication plummets; you're required to sign a waiver implying you could get all the way to the end of the loan process and still be denied; as well as outright told untruths regarding your application, just to pacify you. If this behavior just doesn't quite sit right with you, you're instructed to talk with "Tony." Now, apparently Tony's sooo important, it takes several weeks for him to contact you (by phone). Then, evidently Tony's sooo busy, he admits to now "multi-tasking"; thus, not paying attention to your legitimate concerns; until, at some point, "selectively" hearing what he can take out of context; distort, and lambaste you with; while, failing to demonstrate even one aspect of having a positive attitude, empathy; as well as, patience, for the matter at hand; failing to actively listen, effectively communicate, problem-solve; as well as, negotiate; and, most-importantly, failing to demonstrate effective customer relationship-building skills. Certain staff at NL state it's not uncommon for folk like you and me to simply "hang up" on them; can't say I blame 'em!

Nations Lending is a JOKE. Very unprofessional and unexperienced staff. I had been dealing with…read morethem for 3 months. I was working with Christofer Stanley who has NO idea what he was talking about or had any knowledge of FHA or HUD loans. This is the worst by far mortgage lender in the country. Don't waste your time with these idiots. I received an approval by email saying I was approved for the loan. Then they had said to me that their numbers were wrong and turn me down the that before they were going to release the money to me. I was furious to say the least. DROP them like a BAD habit. They are the worst.
