My truck was rear ended and totaled by another driver. After months of letters saying "we are working on recovering your deductible", I eventually received a letter saying "unfortunately, the at fault driver did not have insurance at the time." When I responded with the driver's insurance that I had a picture of, they said "oh, the officer must have wrote it down wrong". The next message I received said "we've tried everything but we have to give you case to a third party now". That was a loss. Fast forward to when I bought a new car to replace my truck. My insurance payment was going to be over $400 a month. I switched to Progressive and they are insuring 3 of my vehicles for $180 total. Stay away from Liberty. read more

Funny TV commercials and a big bird does not make for adequate customer service in general, and especially at the Denver West, Colorado Liberty Mutual Office where answering phones, returning calls and missing-in-action is common. At this lame dysfunction office, maintaining personal relationships with clients is lost in a by-gone era. These make pretend agents (actually sellers of stuff on commission) are incapable-unable to provide useful informative or policy changes by phone or letter to their so-called clients who to Mutual Liberal are actually just another trick to make a buck. You get a corporate letter with out-of-state telephone number to a call center where you are to wait (10-20-? minutes, or you get disconnected, or you hang-up due to frustration) before you can talk to a poorly trained staff person who is unable to solve problems. Most importantly Liberty Mutual makes mistakes implementing your insurance agreement, especially in the billing area, even if you are paid in full for the year on your home/auto bundle... no communication between their different parts; home does not know what auto is doing! Unprofessional. Irresponsible. Incompetent. I argued with a dysfunctional Liberty Mutual last week about my homeowner's insurance. This week we are arguing about my auto insurance. Terrible and unprofessional service. For the amount of money they charge for insurance, you would think they would hire competent claims adjusters. When it's time for them to pay on a claim, they dodge you like the plague. It took Olivia a week and a half to respond to numerous emails and texts AND voicemails. I was in a car accident that was witnessed by four different people who said it was the other driver's fault. Liberty mutual never tried to reclaim my deductible or obtain payment for my Uber and bus fare during repair time. Furthermore, their representative also claimed that new damages I have never experienced before the wreck are "wear and tear" in order to avoid paying for them. I have definitely gotten the run around and would not recommend using them. I challenge a representative from Liberty Mutual to address my concerns here and actually make me a satisfied customer. The customer service person had no real explanation other than it was going to increase more do to the cost of building materials increasing. She was very condescending and not helpful. Be careful this company will try to bill you for upcoming renewals, changing the premium without your permission. Also customer service sucks when attempting to obtain information about rates or specifics. When you call the menu is not friendly & will drop your call. Be prepared to spend at least 30 min. Liberty Mutual has absolutely no ethics! They randomly find new forms that need to be signed and if you don't get them signed and returned (in the most recent case, I literally had less than 24 hours) they hike your monthly rate up and then claim there is nothing they can do about it. I'm supposed to give their manager 24 to 48 hours to call me back, their manager gets more time to call me back than I did to sign the form to keep them from hiking my rates up. Stay far away. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had liberty mutual and they added some random person to my auto insurance without notifying me or verifying that the person actually lived at my address. After proving they did not live at my address they stated they do not back-pay aka no refund. So my hard earned money was just handed to them. I tried to argue it and they stated it's their policy to add others onto your insurance plan who don't have insurance if they just claim to live at your address. Seems pretty sketchy to me. LM arbitrarily put me and my wife on our 35 year-old daughter's auto policy, increasing her monthly premium by over $200. Yes, you read that right---over $2,400 per year. We don't live with our daughter, she doesn't live with us. We don't drive her cars, and she doesn't drive ours. But somehow LM found our names and added them and the additional cost, without our daughter's or our knowing or approvals. Better check your policy for this blatant scam --- you could save thousands. We were told by insurance adjustor over six months ago that we qualified for 180% catastrophe replacement cost coverage vs our 135% replacement coverage...six months later when an insurance adjustor that they hired proved that our replacement coverage was over the 180% they no longer want to pay or cannot afford to. Liberty Mutual is Amica Car Insurance and was terrible for the auto owners they insured, when hail damage was suffered in Colorado May, 2017. Their claim adjusters wanted to salvage the cars with hail damage, not repair them. They refused to repair my car and issued a salvaged title to the DMV without my consent and Without The Title. My mother had her insurance with State Farm (Connie Slater in Colorado Springs) when she died they dropped and cancelled her homeowners and auto policy without notifying me. (After I notified them and requested that all billing be sent directly to me) What a nightmare! I called Liberty Mutual to try to get my moms home and car covered again, and while they couldn't fix all the problems that State Farm created for me, they did immediately cover the car and they were very kind and helpful in trying to help me with the other issues. Let me share my experience with Dustin Hailey and Liberty Mutual. In March, my truck was broken into and glass was broken on the truck. After dealing with Liberty Mutual and Dustin for 6 weeks I learned that some of the damage was not covered because Dustin did not offer me that coverage. Also, earlier this year Dustin sold me coverage for my Condo which later did not cover the loss on my Condo. Since the end of March, I have also been dealing with Dustin, Liberty Mutual and ABRA Auto Glass regarding the installation of the replacement glass on my truck. This has included and not limited to: the installation of a leaky glass replacement window; water damage to my truck: multiple late arrivals by mobile installers who refused to do the work after they arrived for various reasons; having to take the truck to a shop where it was damaged and being invoiced for OE glass which was actually after-market. I have lost countless hours of work waiting for mobile installers, making phone calls, emailing, taking my truck to the shop, etc. Dustin has been aware of this situation and has not once responded to any calls or email for help in resolving this situation. I have had several insurance companies and insurance Agents over the last 30 years and can unequivocally state that Dustin Hailey and Liberty Mutual have provided by far the worst customer service ever. I plan to file complaints with the BBB and the Colorado State Division of Insurance, and will continue providing feedback on as many Internet review sites as possible. I strongly encourage everyone to change to a different insurance company if they are insured with Liberty Mutual or if you decide to stay with Liberty Mutual change to another Agent before they find themselves in the same predicament I continue to be in. read more
