I am sitting in my new home, in my new living room that I love as I write this review. Sooooo you can already tell I have good things to say. 5 stars doesn't seem to be enough for how helpful Alison was in finding me my next home. She took everything I was hoping to find in a new apartment and showed me all of my options. I was in a bit of a time crunch with just over a month to find a place before my current lease was up, I have a dog and have a pretty tough budget I was hoping to not exceed. All of that, in addition to me being extremely picky (as you should be with a decision as big as where you'll be living!!) led to a stressful search before beginning to work with her. She sent me numerous listings daily, didn't push me when I decided to pass on seeing some, drove me to and from most showings and, in the end, found me a fantastic place. I went from scouring Zillow nearly all day, every day, to finally being able to relax and feel assured Alison would see and send me everything that was available. Working with her was incredibly easy and I felt like I was going through the process with a friend the entire time. She is professional, kind and extremely patient. She was always easy to get in touch with either by phone or a text and answered every question I had. I couldn't recommend working with her more! read more

Reached out to Liberty Realty with an interest on a listing that was just posted on Zillow very shortly after and was transferred to Angela Vartuli. I gave her some preliminary details on what I was looking for and gave her a budget that was my "ideal" budget, which was $100-$200 less than what the listing was put up for. I followed up via text immediately after our call and sent her my preferences in writing to reference and she advised that this rental was out of my budget. She suggested that doesn't make sense to view as it may be a waste of time, keeping in mind that I wouldn't have otherwise reached out for a unit that was out of budget, even though this was not something for her to determine as I clearly was aware of the listing price. She made me aware of the 10% annual brokers fee and it was not questioned on my end. Ultimately, while I cannot speak on other agents, my dissatisfaction comes from the agent I've worked with as she seemed dismissive immediately hearing my "ideal" lower budget and didn't seem keen on helping me any further. She was unresponsive as well as I had reached out with a simple question on which utilities were included and it took over a day for her to respond after I followed up. She promised me a video over the weekend, it was 5pm and no video still. I followed up around 5pm and ultimately she was able to get me a video shortly after. When I expressed interest in the unit, I was told there were applications put in already in which she insinuated they were over the asking price. When I tried to confirm, she would not answer the question. As a client, if this was the case I would just focus my search elsewhere instead of spending more time on this. However, what pushed me to write this review was the fact that a call was made the morning after asking on the applications currently in hand, and the person on the line advised that while she needed to confirm how many applications they have, they were all AT asking price (opposite of what Angela told me the day before). If this is true, then it appears to me that the agent is just getting me to start a bidding war against myself which is extremely unprofessional and untruthful. While the market is tight with limited inventory, I'm a firm believer that I have likely missed out on this apartment because the agent I was assigned with was unfortunately dismissive, unresponsive and plain rude at times (via message) as this whole process has been delayed. Her message to my last question regarding whether the applications were priced over asking her reply was word for word, "it's inevitable". It is a simple yes/no question so I can redirect my time elsewhere if needed. I followed up on my question again and I have not heard a reply since. I reached out again to the general line twice today and still have still not been able to get a response. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Frank to view two properties. Upon meeting Frank at the first property, not even 2 minutes into looking at the unit, he then told me that the second unit I was scheduled to see next was already rented last month. He didn't disclose this information when I scheduled the appointment earlier in the week. I live about a 30-45 min drive away and had taken the time to drive to this area specifically to see the second unit so it felt like my time was wasted and not valued. Something didn't feel right to me about that, so I had another friend contact Frank about the property he told us was already taken and Frank responded to my friend asking them when would they be available to come look at it. I am a young, full time professional with a high income, stellar credit and clean background. I am an excellent tenant. Frank didn't ask any questions about me as most landlords/agents do, he was actually a bit cold and not very friendly, so I assume he was discriminating against showing me the unit based on some assumptions about my age, gender or race. This whole situation was very disappointing. Housing discrimination is a very real issue and I'm sharing this in hopes that it can stop it from happening to another person like me in the future. read more

As bad as any other real estate/broker company in Hoboken. Because of the good rental market in Hoboken, real estate agents half ass their job and are sometimes downright rude. I contacted Paris Branda about an apartment via Trulia. Me: Does this 1 bedroom have a den? Curious as to why its listed as the same square footage as the 2 bedroom. (Both the 1 bed and 2 bed in the same building were listed as 1100 sq ft) Paris: Hi, please let me know when your[e] available to see it. Me: Can you answer my question first, please? (I thought this was a very normal question considering I was trying to decide if this apartment was something I was even looking for) Paris: Hi, mo (No? Mo? Rude? Careless? Who knows?) BTW, Liberty (like other real estate companies) sometimes put fake addresses so prospective tenants cannot Google the address, have the management company website pop up, and rent through the management company directly. So on that note...103 Clinton does not exist in Hoboken and the true listing address is 101 Clinton. Google "101 Clinton Hoboken" and the first thing that comes up is the management company website. Better yet, look on Google maps and the awning has the address clearly stating "101" on it. So why would a real estate company use 103 and 105 (which the Hoboken Parking Utility confirmed did not exist when I was trying to buy temporary no parking signs) if not for the reason I stated above? read more

They help you list and rent out your apartments. They have a standard one month rent fee. The lady forgets to lock the top lock in my apartment when they show it. The guy is better about that. Otherwise, relatively normal place. Fee knocks it down a notch, as does the lock issue. Make sure you tell them to lock up properly. read more

by far the worst real estate agency we have worked with. we applied for an apartment on a saturday as the first applicant of an apartment and tried to keep the contact open until a decision to be made by the landlord. during the process(5 days), me and my broker have been trying to reach to the agent (michael klein) through email 5 times. no response was received on any of them. each time after we send a message we had to call them to reach his assistant to make sure that everything they asked is provided. during these 5 days whenever we called them they promised to have any decision and call by the end of the day. that hasnt happened until the following thursday. aside from that opposed to what they promised during the calls, they have not taken the apartment off of the market and kept receiving applications and eventually we were not able to get the apartment regardless of having a good credit score, salary, and a solid job. we were not notified or called at any point during the process, we always had to be the ones who need to gather the information from them. of course we were not told why our application is rejected or even was presented to the landlord. i honestly think that they prioritize applicants with their own brokers over other brokers. read more

I don't have a problem with the agency but for future customers I have to warn you about one specific agent, his name is Aurelio Ramirez , he was very nice when he needed to get his commission, but when I needed to get my deposit back because he was doing everything for the landlord because they're a very old couple he started to lie to the landlord and ignoring all messages and phone calls for no reason, even spoke to his broker(boss) and also got treated The same way, The answer my calls only from different phone numbers. After six months I have received my deposit from the landlord after legal actions - Aurelio Ramirez is the main reason for all of the problem that I had . This company has no regard to anyone but themselves. I was recently promoted and planning a long distance move. 1. I filled out the online forms for more information about thirty times. I finally called and left not one, not two, but 8 messages being promised someone would call. No one did. Someone finally called after two weeks. He planned a tour of a unit and never showed. Another person called and showed me units that I specifically said I didn't want. They are not attentive. They don't listen. They don't have correct information from the landlords. They are only concerned with themselves and funneling money from you to them. 2. They are ONLY worried about their commission checks!!! I don't find a purpose in paying a full months rent for a 10 minute tour. A complete rip off. I was rushed to get the funds in, and BLUFFED to think the apartment would be rented to someone else if I didn't get the funds in NOW. The condo had been vacant for 7 months and all of a sudden a mass amount renters popped up?!?! I'm no dummy, dude! He was a complete jerk and not professional at all. 3. They obviously are not concerned with these reviews. There are no responses. The realtor I dealt with, constantly shouted they are #1 at this and #1 at that. I call BS. Take time and read these reviews here and other sites. You're not #1. Far from it. I only used you because I was in a crunch for housing. Get it together liberty. My company moves people to your area ALL the time and you will NEVER get a referral from me! I'll be writing to BBB as well. It's sad that he only positive reviews you have are about ONE of your agents out of MANY you have. This shows there's no reaction on your part to deal with the issues!!! read more

Unprofessional and unlawful. They show Carla Nicole property- 151 Sip Ave- which incidentally is also a terrible office. Liberty Realty entered my apartment in JC several times without notice and without permission. Courtesy aside, it's illegal to do so under NJ law. As if coming into my place as you please isnt bad enough, the agents always leave the light on in my kitchen and living room... that's how I knew they went in while I gone. Also, the leave the deadbolt unlocked! WoW! How terrifying to know someone has the master key to your place, comes in as they please, and leave the door unlocked! When confronted, the rep said "I'll make a note of it, that agents should call you before entering your apt!" What a shady agency! As far as showing apartments is concerned, they really will do anything to make a sale. Dont trust this place. read more

I was a bit turned off from using Liberty because of all the poor reviews but I noticed all the great reviews for Brenda Wolfe, so I decided to give her a call. I left a message on her voicemail and got back to me pretty soon after. She was even willing to meet me later that day to look at some apartments! I worked with her over a period of three weeks, looking at the new listings that came out in our price range for 3 consecutive Saturdays. She was very patient with us. The apartment we ended up getting was one that had just come up in her system and she got the information just as we were headed out the door to look at apartments for that day. Not sure about the bad reviews, because my experience was completely different. I've only been connected with one realtor, Anthony Curty, but he's great. I initially found LR when I was moving from out of state and was looking for an apartment in the Hoboken area. Apartment search in an unfamiliar area and market can be super stressful, but Anthony made it as easy as it could possibly be. He found me my current apartment in midtown Hoboken for a very reasonable price, and made sure everything was signed and ready for my move-in date. I passed on Liberty to my parents when they were looking for a great real estate agent , and Anthony continued to impress and do a magnificent job in everything he took on. I've been working with Jason Kratochvil for over two years. He has been amazing to work with in helping us rent our property in Jersey City. My roommate and I were in the market for a rental in Hoboken. We personally found an apt we loved online, which was listed by Liberty Realty. We met with realtor Dan Fleisher to tour the unit. Dan was completely uneducated, unprepared and disinterested in showing the unit. He constantly used the excuse that he had never stepped foot inside the property when he did not know the answer to any of our questions. Not only was there a complete lack of information, but there was a dismissive attitude during the entire process. To spite the shear lack of knowledge and complete disinterest in our search for a property, we decided to pursue renting because of pure love of the property. After the completion of application paperwork and handing in the deposits we were told that the apartment was ours from Dan. The next day he calls us and says that there was another offer put in the same time we had submitted our paperwork, and we would either need to pay more for the apartment or lose the property. I was suspicious of this sudden competitive offer, and after reading other reviews, I am now learning that is a stunt that Dan pulls with many of his clients. After begrudgingly agreeing to the increased price for the apartment, the final documentation was sent to the landlord to sign. After 3 failed attempted by Dan to accurately submit the paperwork with the proper documentation, we finally completed the rental agreement process. After closing of the deal, Dan, my roommate and I agreed on a date to enter the apartment to take measurements for the movers. This date was agreed upon a week in advance. 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time, Dan calls us and says that he cannot find the key to the property and will need to cancel the appointment. At this point both my roommate and I had left work early to accommodate the appointment. To say the least this was unprofessional and incredibly inconsiderate. Save yourself the time and aggravation and go with another realtor. read more

Nicole Eudelle is the worst broker I've ever seen. She was rude and unprofessional. Just totally unbelievable. She ends every sentence with "do you understand what I'm saying?" in a very aggressive way as if she was talking to a 3 year old despite that I repeatedly said I understand. She knew nothing about the house and apparently she didn't have direct contact with the landlord so he needs to relate each of my questions to her colleague. She demanded that I texted her all my questions, but other brokers would take notes themselves. Apart from all that, I liked the house so I decided to apply right after I toured it. (Btw, the touring was done almost entirely by the tenant who currently lives here.) since I just lived beside the place, I offered that she waited in the lounge area and I get the check so she didn't have to come again to get the application form. Despite my considerate action, she kept warning me that the landlord might not consider me because my move in date is too late (which is next month which I think is reasonable). I understood that but she tied to convince me of moving in early. Her attitude and way of talking is not respectful with she added "do you understand what I'm saying?" on each sentence. When I asked if the credit check fee could be refunded if I'm not selected, she said it's the company policy and started her annoying talk again. She insisted every realty does that (but from my experience it is not true. ) Anyway In the end, I said I understood it and I was ready to submit the application, she still kept her annoying talk. I was angry and said this was unprofessional, she argued back very defensively and said I was the one who was agitated and argued with her. Ok fine, not going to apply anymore. She stood up and left immediately without even an apology. Just unbelievable! This was a good apt, but ruined by her! read more

Dan was an awesome negotiator and helped me get the exact offer price that I was willing to spend, after much negotiating with the sellers. In addition the process with Dan was extremely smooth he managed all of the paperwork and knew the processes inside and out, as well as the Hoboken, Weehawken and Jersey City areas. We were able to close in 30 days which is unheard of and I couldn't thank him enough for the quick and stress free process. Who thought buying a home could be stress free? I just remembered that I should have written this review a year ago, when I asked Dan to help me get my condo rented. First, the broker was only able to get my girlfriend and me into the apartment we are now renting once before he said we had to make a decision. When we moved in, the place was filthy, because the landlord trusted Liberty to do the walkthrough. They didn't. I tried to get in touch with the broker, who simply said he couldn't help because he was out of the country, but that there was a liaison broker we could speak with. The liaison said he would send a cleaning crew, but didn't. When we complained to the landlord, the liaison said we should, "Just move out, because [we] wouldn't want to deal with this anymore, and neither did he." He actually tried to gain favor by saying, "Most brokers would have dodged your calls, but I didn't." I would ask for our broker's fee back, but frankly, it's worth $2,850 not to have do deal with them again. read more
