Liberty Restoration--I have had the pleasure and utmost professionalism in working with Liberty Restoration on our roof. It was a very complex and difficult job, and they did a fantastic job. There communication and detail on the work flow was exceptional. Chris and Adam, the two main people I worked with were attentive and professional as it gets. It can be a major disruption, but they did everything to minimize the project issues. I have had personal experience dealing with well over 1000 subcontractors in construction, and found them to be as good as it gets. Two years after a full roof replacement - I'm calling them back again as we have discovered our FOURTH leak post replacement. Previous leaks caused damage to the garage and they re-drywalled and repaired it. Have several stains in the ceiling - repaired leaks. Have water leak through a ceiling fan and ruin a wood roof - and now as we get carpet replaced - we discover yet another leak since their full replacement. No one knows what's going on when I try to get answers. I signed a contract in May 2021 and still waiting for them to finish. No one answers their phones, no one calls you back and once you do find someone that answers they leave the company and I am back to square 1. Micheal the owner doesn't know what's going on. If someone from the company sees this I sure hope someone calls and let's me know when my shutters will be put up and completed because I don't know what else to do anymore. read more

My purpose for this review is to give Liberty Restoration (Powell) a low rating. Listed below are just a few headaches I had to suffer through to get a new roof. I have been trying to get my roof replaced through Liberty since October 2020. They gave a quote but repeatedly cancelled and no showed. Finally, in June 2021, I called and asked for my deposit back - I was planning on going with another company. They said they could not give back a deposit and the roofer would be out in 4 days. I signed a contract and paid a deposit on 3/29/21 for the agreed upon amount. There was a contract change order re: color signed 6/17/21. The contract change order states "no price change to contract". Four days later sub-contractors came out and did the work. I will bill that day for an amount that was 65% higher than SF's quote. Mr D***** said multiple time my roof would cost less than SF's quote I called to get an itemized invoice and question the discrepancy of the amount. Mr M***** was yelling in the phone and finally hung up on me. Now they will not answer my phone calls. They threated to turn me into collections (1 week after the roof was completed) and I have had to pay the bill to protect my credit. Mr M***** your itemized spreadsheet is out of date by at less ten years. Roofer don't use "W" metal in valleys. Mr M***** can you spell incompetent. Although I will continue fighting this with the company, BBB and the Attorney General. Finally the sub contractors left debris all over the yard and trampled my wife's flowers. See pictures below. Please be careful dealing with this company. They do sub-par work, charge more than the agreed upon signed invoices, and threaten to damage a person's credit. They were replacing siding - on the house next door. Their workers were cutting the cement board siding on my retaining wall and cut into it. I called and reported it and, after eight months, they are still ignoring me. read more

Scammers. Took my $950 deposit and never performed the work. Stopped answering my calls and e-mails. Once, Josh Basinger (the owner) must have forgotten to screen my number and accidentally answered my call. He promised my issue would be resolved by the end of the day, then proceeded to ghost me again. I enlisted the BBB for help but he just ignored them too. Went with my only option of reporting fraud to my CC company. They paid for a bunch of fake Google reviews as those were low just like here a year ago then they suddenly got boosted with a bunch of 5 start ratings all at once. I have no idea how these guys are even legally allowed to continue doing business. Word is that they are about to change their name and start over with a clean slate so they can continue ripping people off. AVOID anything Josh Basinger is ever involved with. read more

Please be aware of this company that came to us last year (2021) after we had that huge hail storm here in the Pinery. They pitched us on their expertise and total management of the job that included a new roof, northfacing siding replacement, two new decks and exterior painting. We agreed and work started (October 2021). Quick snapshot (I can send you a lengthy overview if needed as it will be submitted to the Better Business Bureau) -12 Months to complete the job (they said it would take 3 to 4 - Maybe more with weather) -No on-site management of the job (this was the selling point of choosing Liberty Restoration) -3 Official Meetings with Project Management Team on our concerns of shotty work and timeframe to complete (Team promised to be more involved) -Complaints from the Sub-Contractors that Liberty Restoration wasn't paying them! Pushing out completion dates. -Original Project Manager removed for Liberty Restoration was replaced for another non-present one! -And Finally! 12 Months later with a few things that they promised to come back and fix we receive a Legal Notice from Liberty Restoration's legal team threatening a lean against our home. With the legal notice, we were not informed prior and had been waiting for the final payout from our insurance company. This was the last and final payment that was delayed because Liberty Restoration had put in (yet again) another pricing change for the material. After speaking with the CFO he basically said tough luck and I told him I'd file a formal complaint with the BBB and spread the word that he wouldn't do this again to anyone in the Pinery. He replied with what seemed like a threat of "Well, we have legal ways of dealing with things." My point here is that because of the lack of communication, management, and ethics we will never do business with them again. I mean, how is there ever a consideration to squeeze the customer to get money from the insurance company??? This job could have been completed in 3-5 months if they would have managed the job as promised. read more

Customers service Sucked. All they cared about was getting paid before the work even started. My roof was scheduled for July and when that time came they wouldn't answer or after leaving voicemails they wouldn't get back to me, and after I sent an email saying that if I didn't get a call back by the end of the day The next call they would get would be from my lawyer. They called and scheduled me for 1st week in September. I told them I wanted to be there to see the tear off. So they didn't come 1st week and wouldn't answer my call and all of a sudden I caught them on my camera getting on my roof, I was working out of state and wasn't able to make it home. So I came home the next day and my yard was a mess, siding was off and a dump trailer in my driveway. Reached out to them and they said they had to finish they ran out of material. Bull sh*t. Good thing I have a truck and pulled there dump trailer out of my driveway and left it in the street. read more

Where do I start? No communication from this company whatsoever. The quality of work was just ok some shingles look lifted not to mention we filled a whole jar of nails we found after the completion, expected to find a few but not a whole jar. They also did not finish the job according to our agreement a soffit was to be repaired and was not. I had to hire someone else to finish. All they cared about was the payment and actually requested to be paid before the job was completed. After we signed the contract I didn't hear from them for over 3 weeks without a date set for the work to start. After multiple times of trying to reach them was I promised a date to start. That date came and went and two weeks later they started the work. If you want to be tossed around and left with incomplete work give them a call they got you covered. read more

We had a rocky start but they more than compensated for any delays and really cared about the final product and that we were happy in the end. The owner personally came out and did the final walk through to ensure everything was up to the standard we expected. We are very happy with the final product. read more

Horrible customer service experience. I paid 50% up front. Their project manager was to get back with me to provide another estimate and what it would take to fully complete the work began. While I waited, I received a call from a different man from Liberty, SCREAMING, that he wanted his money. I asked him if he could talk with others at his office that were closer to the project and that knew the next steps to be taken. He screamed NO! and kept SCREAMING on the phone. He then texted that he was putting a lien on my house. I have never seen such disorganized company (one person not talking to the other). They did an amazing job of repair of our trim from woodpecker damage. Very professional and they went above and beyond.

We recently worked with Jeremy Forsythe from the Independence, Ohio office. He was on time, courteous and was able to have a crew out to repair roof damage in a very timely manner. The guys who showed up to do the work were very professional and had work completed and the area cleaned up in an hour. The start of the process was amazing working with Mark. However, the aftermath was terrible. I signed a contract on January 7th and it is now May 11 and still not even scheduled for work. I decided to cancel my contract. It took multiple attempts to get in contact with Josh Basinger, who is upper management and was very unprofessional and simply laughed at my concerns. Even though there was no work done whatsoever, not even a hint at my materials being ordered, I simply pointed to a contract clause that stated if NO WORK has been made, its a full refund. He still only resorted back to Clause 13 in their contract that will take 15% of the ENTIRE cost of the estimate for "liquidated damages." Josh Basinger was unable to provide answers to exactly what that was and continued to laugh at the conversation. He actually tried to place blame on other employees. We had such a wonderful experience with HomeStar Exteriors ! Our house is about 90 years old so we have hired our fair share of contractors in the 12 years we have lived here. Having Homestar install our siding was far and away the best experience we have had throughout all of our home improvements. Mike was extremely reliable and conscientious and communicated with us consistently throughout the project from the estimate through completion of the job. The work was done in a timely manner and everything was cleaned up immediately once finished. Oh, and our house looks amazing, too! Although they put tarps down when they replaced my roof, I somehow expected to find stray nails on my driveway or yard and yet I did not find one. I had Liberty Restoration replace my roof 2 years ago. They were very helpful with the insurance claim process and they contracted a roofing company who did I a quality job. At the time, I was not ready to simultaneously have them replace my gutters. 2 years later - I'm ready for gutters so I give them a call and leave a voicemail. I had to leave 3 more voicemails over the course of a week. Eventually the owner got wind of this and had someone reach out to me. The sales rep - Scott - who called me didn't even know what I was called about..."The owner said to give you a call...what can I help you with?" Eventually, he made it out to my house to give me a quote. He did not have any information on the type of gutter guards that they use so I pulled out the pamphlet that they gave me two years ago and asked if they're still using this brand. He confirmed that they were. He also tried to tell me that I needed 6" gutters before factoring in the pitch of my roof. I have a small house with an roof that I'm very comfortable waking around on - it's not a steep pitch. Eventually he agreed that I only need 5" gutters and that 6" would be overkill. We agreed to a price and he told me that Lynsie - my customer service manager - would be in contact with me to coordinate an installation date and answer any of my questions prior to installation. I received a welcome phone call from Lynsie but was never able to have a conversation over the phone with her again. She was either conveniently at an appointment and forgot to call me back or she would only communicate through text. She reached out once via text to let me know my installation was delayed by a week. 2 weeks go by and I haven't heard anything. The tentative installation day arrives and I had to reach out to confirm whether the installation was actually going to take place. She disturbed that I texted her - she was at an appointment again and not at the office so she could provide any details. She said that she thought that I was on the schedule but that there are a number of factors that could affect when they arrive. "They will at least deliver the materials by 3 pm"...the sales manager said it would be a 1 day installation. After a few more texts, she reluctantly reached out to the contractors and confirmed that they'd be there between 9 and 10 am and that I'm the first job of the day. 11:00 arrives and they're still not here so I call Eric - the supervisor. Eric was unable to reach them. They eventually show up at 11:30. They said they had a job prior to mine. As they start unloading the materials, I notice that they have a completely different product than what I was told I was purchasing. I called Eric to express my concerns and he said that they stopped using the product that I was pitched two years ago due to it failing on many of their installations. I appreciate the transparency but that would have been nice to know up front to alleviate unnecessary stress an allow me to research the product that I was purchasing. Communication is not a strong suit of this company. Once it was all said and done, the installation looks decent - but it was painful to get to this point. The sales and customer service manager need additional coaching before I would recommend this company to anyone. read more
