If I could give this company zero stars I would. This is the most annoying company. They send canvasing reps into my neighborhood to hawk their product. Despite the fact I have a clearly displayed NO VENDORS sign right below to my front doorbell, they still ring it to try to sell me windows. This is at least the 4th time they've been at my home in a little over a year. I've had that sign up way longer than that. What part of that sign don't they understand?? Can't they read?? We had the money and the interest to replace huge original windows in our midcentury home with new custom windows, but what we got from Renewal by Anderson were ugly inserts that permanently changed the appearance of the home inside and out. We lost 15% of the window, making the unique layout of the home dim and unwelcoming. The sales pitch was slick and incomplete (and unnecessary since we knew we needed to change out the 45 year old windows), failing to underscore that our big beautiful windows would be permanently gone, changed irrevocably. All that sales pitch, two hours long, and never a mention that they were only making INSERTS! Wow. We had replaced windows in a 19th century home with a cheaper company 20 years ago and they had delivered what we asked -- custom replacement windows, not some weird ugly inserts. Extremely disappointed. We have 5 more beautiful windows that need replacing but we will not go with Renewal by Andersen. The photo shows one of the smaller windows side by side (sorry it's so dark), showing the smaller glass. There are windows that are up to 94 inches wide, I just don't have any side by side except for this one. Also showing the smallest window -- the master bedroom suite only has two windows and now they are so small. Terrible customer service. I wanted to get a quote on a new sliding glass door. No one called me for 2 weeks, so I called again. Finally, a rep and I played phone tag for a few weeks. He said he was coming sometime during the week, and I got a text on Friday at 3:00 pm that he could be there by 5:15 pm. Sorry, I was working. Asked about the weekend, and I said I would be around on Saturday. Never heard from him again. Called the office and I was forwarded to a "boss" to speak with, and I left a voicemail to please return my call. Nothing!!! Surprise! read more

My father is 83 yrs old and contacted Anderson. He wanted the whole house done. The salesman missed a window in the front of the house. He also sold my dad child proof window locks besides other unnecessary items we are told we have to order the window they missed and pay for it.so we did. The windows they installed had to be redone as they wouldn't ?lock. The new window is ready but they cancelled twice and now A No Show. This is the worst experience and customer service I have ever had. There should be no charge as it was their mistake to begin with. We have tried to be nice but this is ridiculous read more

Ordered windows for our entire home in June of 2021. The windows came in late, but all were installed. 15 windows had substantial blemishes. Renewal by Andersen agreed that they were bad, and they would replace them. It is May of 2024 and every few months Renewal by Anderson emails us to tell us that the replacement windows have come in scratched and they will order more. There has yet to be any replacement windows installed into our home. We also ordered a new door unit. The first door had scratches/gouges in it, and eventually de-laminated. Renewal by Anderson then replaced the door with a new door that has significant chips and a substantial paint gouge. The installation crew tried to paint the door on the spot with miss matching paint. Renewal by Anderson agreed to replace the second replacement door but as of May of 2024 we have not received a door. read more

So many mistakes and five months to finally get the installs right. I hope it is right now. I had Renewal by Anderson install two patio doors and one service door. First error no keys where ordered. And service door would not accommodate the lock. I had purchased to put back there. That is after I showed salesman what lock I wanted to use. The very first day all doors had issues! Installation started in March 2023 that is when it was discovered the keys weren't there. The front patio doors were two different colors. They didn't match the wood stain was off. Plus the bedroom slider door was unstained, I was not told this would be my job to stain. Salesman stated my old windows were Anderson so stain would be done before arrival, no problem!! One reason I went with Anderson over Pella. Installer said my old doors were not Anderson. So began a series of service calls. Plus I had to stain own sliders. During one service call the sub contacter removed the door, I stained and he reinstalled. He helped solve my problem with that door. He was always trying to solve issues but often not given enough information. I feel the salesman mislead when he knew some doors were unstained and that my lock would not work. He just did not voice the issue and loss the order. Yesterday the final call was completed where the door needed to be taken out and leveled since the initial install was not correct. The workers be it Install or customer service were fine. The company's procedures are horrible to get some things done. Take so long there shouldn't be this many issues. read more

BEWARE SENIORS! DO NOT BUY WINDOWS FROM RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN of Dublin, OH (AKA Southard Corp), SECRETLY FINANCED as an agent of GREENSKY, LLC (A Goldman Sachs Company)! GreenSky and Andersen are not Companies that you should deal with if you are an elderly senior, or have parents or grandparents who are not electronically literate and alert! They authorize their agent salesmen and vendors to have you (in this case an 82 year old woman) sign an electronic contract for BUYING WINDOWS FOR A HOME THAT YOU DO NOT OWN OR HAVE AUTHORITY TO PURCHASE, or it could be your own home. They will say you "have to sign" so that they can send someone out to measure YOUR windows, when in reality you are signing a contract. (Showing only the signature line on an iPad) Then they will ask for your social security number and apply for funding a loan without ever showing you the documentation that you are signing, but merely have you electronically sign what they represent is only an "authorization to check your credit". Even in a case where you want to pay by check, they will "check your credit" without informing you that you are actually taking out a loan.... This is called "PUTTING A STAKE IN THE GROUND",,, IN OTHER WORDS THEY LOCK IN THE DEAL... FROM A LEGAL STANDPOINT THAT IS KNOWn AS "GIVING CONSIDERATION" FOR THE CONTRACT. YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO BUY UNKNOWINGLY BEFORE THEY HAVE LEFT YOUR HOUSE and you don't even know the sale is completed..... and they will do it with an electronic device, signature line on an iPad or Tablet PC, without giving you a copy of the Finance Agreement, until a month later when it comes disguised in the mail, no return receipt requested, so they have no record that it has been delivered! Since you don't know of the financing, you are not expecting anything and will probably throw the GreenSky envelope in the trash as junk mail like an offer for an extended car warranty. Of course this is long after the 3 day legal rescission period has passed, so you don't even know that you have already bought the windows even tho you have not paid them anything yet. They will tell you that you are in debt to GreenSky and that you are too late to protest, that it is already funded and that you are obligated to PAY. So even though you were misled, you have two options, to pay (even if the windows are for a house that you do not own), or let it sit on your credit report as an unpaid debt. They quoted over $200,000 for window replacement and then applied a 'discount' for doing all the windows that brought it to more than $140,000. When we asked about then applying all the 'sale' promotions they constantly advertise they said they'd already done it. The pricing model by the window industry and Renewa by Andersen in particular is a major turn-off. read more

DO NOT USE Andersen!!! We spent over $30k on 2 doors and the installation is horrible. The first day it rained, we had an indoor waterfall! The black hardware is also scuffed and to top it all off.....we have gone 3 weeks without an important "interlock piece". This part creates a big hole near the base of our doors, open to critters, pests and natural elements. Overpriced, over-promised, poor installation......do not use Renewal by Andersen. We would have expected better quality and installation for spending so much money. Also, all the door plates have "Andersen" written on them and it looks tacky, not classy at all for a feature door. After a couple of post install interaction I rated Renewal by Andersen of Dublin, OH (RBA) as: 2/5. After the 2 year warranty expired I eventually raised them to 3/5 since they had provided a couple of missing screens. I can't say I'm overly pleased with the end results. Here are some of the reasons why - We had RBA replace the windows in our house fall 2021. There were some issues with a couple of screens. One was damaged during installation. The other appeared to be too small for the space and was "strung too tight at the factory" as per the repair guy. Took over a year to get those two finally replaced. Some other issues with damage to existing aluminum cladding and large gaps between the windows and house were eventually resolved. The final challenge has to do with some plastic plugs which cover the holes in which they screw the windows into the house. They apparently can't find/buy the right sized plugs. During the installation they tried to resolve the issue by drilling out the hole so the plugs would fit. They apparently also don't have the right sized drill bits since those plugs are now falling into the window (see attached photo). RBA sent a guy out specifically to fix that issue and he had more of the WRONG SIZED plugs (no you can't get them in with a hammer). That issue was never resolved. Keep in mind you need to remove each of the sliding windows to install the missing plugs so it would be much better to do this correctly during installation! I did purchase a cheap pack of assorted sized plastic plugs on Amazon (multiple sizes in separate containers) so I'm sure I can eventually "finish" the installation of the windows. I'm hoping my feedback can help you can avoid such issues in your quest for new windows. read more

BUYER BEWARE - NOT WORTH IT - VERY POOR SERVICE -VERY BAD EXPERIENCE We were excited at 1st then turned frustrated and now having regrets. We purchased 9 windows and 2 sliding doors costing $29200. the saleswoman Joy's presentation was superb but lacked the customer service. She also indicated the installers will be professional and wears RBA uniforms but that was not the case either. This has been a nightmare that started in August and still waiting for 1 more window to be installed (update: finally installed 11/15/19). The contractor came in to take the measurements which was interrupted by a surprise visit by the saleswoman Joy to ask to pay additional $500 for the scaffolding as she forgot to put it on the quote. I had to walk away from her as she was yelling in my own home with the contractor there upset at her demeanor also and would have possibly been the cause of the mis-measurement of that 1 window that we are still waiting on. YELLING IN MY HOME and arguing with me was not appreciated. I should have agreed with her to cancel it then and there when she threatened to cancel it if I didn't comply. 2 months later the windows were ready and another contractor and his young apprentices came to install the windows and doors but not wearing the RBA attire and not professional as initially indicated. Everything went well but took 1 more extra day to finally finish but 1 window was the incorrect size the patio door install could not be completed because the wood frame above had water and termite damage from years ago. They could not fix it and was told that I would have to hire a separate contractor to fix the issue. Even thought the sales person Joy told me it is included with the price. He referred me to his friend and $650 later, the frame was repaired and finally completed but still waiting on 1 window. The window opening is still covered in plastic and was told they will rush the replacement window and will have it in 2 weeks but now taking over a month. To this day we are still waiting and are unable to enjoy the patio with a window covered in plastic. Before the installers left, they were suppose to just remove the plastic film off the windows but after removing it kept scrubbing and wiping off finger prints but just put all kinds of smudges and streaks to were it to several days for me and my wife to get on a ladder and wipe it down the streaks and smudges which are still visible to this day. Our saleswoman Joy said not to use any special chemicals but when those installers were wiping down the windows, they were using chemicals that just made the whole house have a strong smell and we hope it didn't ruin the integrity or sheen of the windows- These installers were amateurs and were still being trained by the main one. The manager came in to inspect the work and issue then the GM Jim Spires came shortly after and gave his # to call with any concerns. The initial manager came back with 4 gift cards to outback steakhouse of $25 each but my Wife is a Vegan so we just gave it to the contractors that came in to repair the outside patio door frame because they did a great job and are willing to work with them again with future projects. I would have rather been compensated for the door frame repair than a $100 gift card. The last window finally is available earlier this month and was told can be installed in a few days but the day after they called, I tried to schedule it and was told will take another 2 weeks as if they did not know there was an issue and had no idea that we had waiting this long so I had to escalate it again to the GM Jim that did finally get the appointment sooner. I really regret making this purchase. In the end, we are still struggle removing the smudges and streaks left by the installers, the painted door trims and window covers do not match, the patio door does not seal shut, can still feel cold air coming in. I HAVE BUYERS REMORSE. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! read more

I had 7 windows and a front door replaced. All of the windows were casement windows except for one double-hung window. One casement was a large picture window in our living room. We chose composite material for the outside and wood for the inside of each window. The door was a Provia custom fiberglass door. The salesperson was very professional. If I remember correctly, he had been working for RBA selling windows for a number of years. He was patient and even returned 2 or 3 extra times to discuss changes we wanted to make before we signed the contract. He worked with us until we figured out exactly what we wanted for each window and the door. The products were all top-quality, and installation was excellent. No issues or complaints with the product quality or installation. I would have rated them 5-stars except for one very important issue: they mis-represented the windows. We specifically told the salesman multiple times that we were going with RBA (even though they were more expensive) because we wanted casement windows that opened out enough that we could easily clean the outsides of each window without using an outside ladder, or without hanging dangerously outside the window to clean it. The salesman told us repeatedly that this would be the case. Once I even went to their showroom, and that same salesmen showed how the casement window opened wide to allow easy access for outside cleaning. Once the windows were installed, only one of those casement windows opened that way. All of the others opened the way casements have opened for years, with only an inch or two opening near the frame. When I brought this to the salesman's attention, he told me that this was legally the way they had to work for zoning rules so that the window would allow "easy-exit" (or some similar term) to allow people to escape easily if needed. He said that the one and only window that worked the way we had requested was actually a mistake, and he offered to replace it! When we complained, he told us that he didn't realize that the windows didn't open wide when he was selling us the windows, and only later learned about it. When we reminded him that we spent a very large amount of money for windows that were mis-represented, he apologized, but said that he had nothing else to say or do about it. To be fair, on installation day, once installation was completed, everything looked and worked fine. I signed their "Zero-Defect Form" saying everything was done correctly. It was only a few days later that I realized that they windows did not open they way was originally requested. We complained to the sale manager who told us that they had (just a few days ago) held a staff meeting on this very issue. He also gave us the same explanation about zoning rules, and apologized. He said he couldn't give us any sort of a refund, but he offered to send us a restaurant gift card in hopes that we would understand and send future business their way. (Yes, we received the Visa gift card a few weeks later.) We decided that it wasn't worth it to us to pursue the issue any further. In summary ... very high quality windows and door ... no installation issues. But beware of exactly what you are buying. read more

We had all of our windows replaced this last winter. We got a call in December asking us if they could install them the week of Christmas because they didn't have any work that week (they were supposed to be installed this last February). Since it was short notice they told us they would prep our house (remove the shutters, move furniture, etc.) They left holes in our siding where the shutters were. Not just the holes from the shutters but 2-3" holes from yanking the shutters off and causing the siding to break. There are also cracks and broken siding around windows that didn't have shutters on them. The aluminum trim around the windows is poorly put on. Dents in it. We also had a sliding door put in. The drywall work was horrible. They left a huge gap where the wall and ceiling meet. I made them fix it but frankly I could have done a better job. The week the windows were installed it got extremely cold. The inside frames of the windows had ice forming on them. I told our salesman and he blew us off saying the windows had to adapt to the house. I understand, condensation on the windows, but not ice forming on the frame. There clearly wasn't enough insulation put in around the windows. I remember seeing daylight through the side of the windows after they put the foam in, but thought that it would be addressed. we even mentioned it to them. Clearly it is not. We had to have a repair guy come out to look at our sliding door this last week. He noted all of the damage to our house and said that someone would be in touch with me in the next couple of days it's been four days and I haven't heard from anyone. I feel their customer service is horrible. I have no complaints about the windows. They are high-quality and look beautiful from the inside. Outside, not so much. I would not recommend Renewal by Anderson not because of the window quality but because of the installation quality and customer service. read more

They have to know if you have filed bankruptcy. They don't show you samples. They broke one of my blinds that went to the patio door area. They had their spouses show up while installing them. I bought $50K worth of windows from those people and it was a terrible mistake. The salesman made a good pitch but they left my property much worse off than it was before they replaced (or tried to replace) my windows. The "tech" never measured the old window openings, rather he eyeballed them. So when the new windows arrived, they were absurdly too small. Some of the gaps between the new windows and my framing were big enough to put my hands through. One was big enough to put my arm through. They jacked some up on high high stacks of shims, foamed and smeared on giant beads of caulk to hide the giant gaps and said that was good enough. They replaced some windows that were grossly too small but during the reorder process they left my framing open for months thus letting it rain in to my house. They put new siding on the side of my house in places to cover huge gaps at some other grossly undersized windows (rather than reordering the right size window) but installed it with brad finish nails so much of it blew off in months. It was a nightmare, permanently damaged my beautiful home and caused me to work for weeks to fix their amateur work. They were all about getting the sale and collecting money but had only a pathetic ability to execute and install windows. I was better off before before they came on my property. read more

We got high-pressure sales, pusedh to make a decision fast. We took three or four windows off the total order but when we were billed it never went down from the original price. We asked for an itemized bill and couldn't get one. Then when one of the windows had a leak they came out to look at it and said that condensation was normal. I wasn't concerned about the condensation I was concerned about the breeze I could feel and can still feel on cold winter days between upper and lower panes. read more

The windows are a great quality. They are made from the same material trek decking is.. so more durable than vinyl and no maintenance like wood. That being said we've had a few annoyances. 1) the window is crooked in the frame. The Operations and "repair" guy have said that is to allow for the window to expand and contract with the temperature. It's not a minor crooked, it's very noticeable. I was told that because we have such long windows it's more noticeable and the window needs to be able to move to allow to open and close with the double hung. It's very tight at some spots and very wide at other spots. It doesn't alter the function of the window but doesn't look appealing. Had this been conveyed by the sales rep- that would have been nice to have been told "don't worry if they are crooked. That's normal ". I probably would have chosen a cheaper window then honestly. 2) they just do work arounds to repair something. We have 1 window where air comes on between the frame around the window. When the sales guy came out he said " I don't think they used enough spray foam around the window". So a tech came out and "caulked" the window frame. Yep that's right- just caulked it!! A week later the operations guy came out and said " I found 2 holes that weren't sealed on the outside ,So I caulked it". They don't want to think that the installers weren't rushing because it was 730 and we live an hour from their shop, it was pitch black.. nope... it's just with caulk. I'm Sorry but if air is coming IN from the outside... that means the right amount of insulation was NOT used and caulk isn't gonna fix that. Very disappointed that we paid 13k for 8 windows and they are crooked and just caulked and not properly installed. read more

Terrible experience from start to finish. My wife and I spent $40,000 on 17 windows and 2 sliding glass doors and windows continue to leak air (cold). Service tech came out and stuck small sponge like material in corners to stop drafts but windows continue to leak. This is a unacceptable repair for such a expensive window. After second service call windows continue to leak cold air. This entire experience with Anderson has been a horrible EXPENSIVE ordeal. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
