    "Ice" rink
    Masumi T.

I recently visited Liberty Science Center with my 2 year old son and another family with two boys, around ages 6 and 9. Overall, we had a good experience, though it definitely felt more geared toward older children than very young ones. There is an interactive room designed for younger kids, which we appreciated. We tried the planetarium, but unfortunately my son didn't enjoy it--the images moving toward him scared him. Luckily, the show was only about 20 minutes long. Highlights: the "ice" rink (big win with the kids), a hands-on chromatography experiment where I learned about capillary action, and an air spout exhibit with a floating ball that my son couldn't get enough of. There were also animals and insects on display, which added some variety. Overall, we enjoyed the experience, but it did feel a bit expensive when you factor everything in. Admission for two with the planetarium ($8) was $73, and between driving, tolls, paid parking ($7), and heavy traffic on the way back to Westchester, it added up quickly. It's a fun and educational spot, especially for older kids, but the cost and travel make it more of an occasional visit for us.

First of all, I think Liberty Science Center is basically a children's museum, so when I read adults' reviews of how the center is so full of kids and not geared towards adults, I totally understand and agree. Although the center is educational and interesting for adults (I find it really interesting at least), everything is geared towards kids, including how low a lot of the exhibits/setup are. With that said and expectations leveled, my husband, child and I come once a month, specifically during the Bank of America Museums on Us first weekend of the month where admission is free for all BofA cardholders. It's perfect during the winter when it's too cold outside to go to the park. During Halloween they have a cool Haunted House / mirror reflection Photo Booth setup and during the Christmas holidays they have a photo station with Santa, at both of which a family gets one printed photo. It's super fun! Highly recommend coming here with kids, we've come here since our kiddo could walk and he loves loves loves it. Wobbly World on the second floor, which is for kids up to a certain height (like 3yo?), is especially fun for toddlers because everything is designed for little ones.

Liberty Science Center is one of our favorite places! We love it so much, we became members. There are multiple floors and exhibits to explore. For toddlers and small children the "wobbly room". This room is all about BALANCE. There are things to climb, to build with, and to swing on. We spend a lot of time in that room! The train set room is AMAZING and so detailed. The rotating exhibits right now are Daniel Tiger and Sue the T-Rex. Its so amazing to see Sue the T-rex, the magnitude and size of the dino fossils are incredible to see. They also have animals to observe. We enjoyed the Sesame St movie in the planeterium as well. They offer paid parking. There is a cafeteria / lunch room where you can eat your own food or purchase food from the food hall. They had pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc all kid friendly stuff. It was a bit pricey but nothing too bad! There is a light rail stop nearby if taking public transportation.

Such a fun place to take my 8 year old and 3 year old. They both enjoy all the interactive exhibits. We have also visited their planetarium. I love how they have planetarium shows that are not as intimidating for the babies/ toddlers. This year we went during the Halloween season. Super fun to see skeletons hidden throughout and the Halloween decor. The Daniel tiger exhibit was cute.

Went to LSC on a Thursday afternoon with my son and my brother's family. There is so much to do and see here, with some interactive exhibits which is really nice. Unfortunately, this is a hot destination for summer camps and it seems like there is no limit to the amount of camps that spend the day there. It was hard to hear the audio exhibits with so many kids running around yelling, so the purpose was lost on the kids in those instances. Our kids still had a great time but it was definitely overstimulating, maybe more so for us parents. I would go again but maybe look into days where there are less camps present. It would be nice if they had a designated weekday for families with no field trips.

Great to spend day here. Planetarium is largest in North America. Great activities for children and adults. Parking is reasonable at $7 and food is ok and reasonable.

Lots to see, lots to do and, undoubtedly, all around fun for the kids. I hadn't been to LSC in ages (since I was a child), so when we took our kids for a trip here on a random Saturday afternoon, I was probably anticipating going here more than them. First, getting here. LSC is pretty much located right next to Liberty State Park in Jersey City. When you arrive, you'll go through the parking lot and grab a parking ticket on your way in. You can park ANYWHERE you want in the lot. You can either prepay, prior to leaving, at a kiosk inside the center or you can pay with your credit card at the lot gates when you leave. Once in, if you have tickets then great! You can get your wristband at ticket entry and be on your way. If not, just go to the ticket booths and they'll take care of you. One thing to keep in mind is that they do have metal detectors here when you walk into the facility, so beware of what you bring with you. There are 4 total levels to the building and, like I said, there is LOTS to do and see. If you're with kids, you can probably anticipate spending 2-3 hours here. I won't go into every detail about the activities, but everything here revolves around ...... surprise, surprise ---- SCIENCE! There is a little something for every branch of it - chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, etc. In addition to the activities, there is a food court on the 2nd level as well. You'll find your usual kids food there. Overall, it's hard not to have a good time here, especially for the kids - it's part educational, part playground, part amusement park. Not only will your kids have a blast, but you'll definitely learn a thing or two as well. Highly recommend visiting at least once.

Science? Yes! Titanic Exhibit? Yes! We specifically came all the way from Minnesota just to see the Titanic exhibit at the LSC. What a treat! We have a little boy who is a titanic aficionado. And the exhibit did not disappoint. They had a lot of official artifacts from the titanic, they had interesting bios of titanic passengers on the walls, you are assigned a real passenger and find out at the end of the exhibit if you survive or not, a glacier to touch, and even cabin room replicas. Also great photo ops when you enter the center...the bow of the ship and roses and jacks door. Other favorites include: - 4th floor observation deck - amazing views of NYC - turtles on 3rd floor - 3rd floor animals - 2nd floor couches to chill - 2nd floor dip n dots - 2nd floor snack shop - Bee hive - Model train room Yes we love snacks. The LSC is HUGE and ample parking roughly $7 to park which is a deal. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of bathrooms on each floor too. If we'd lived in Jersey we would sure be members!

Very well posted on I-78 driving into the area, I am not familiar with this area at all as I was traveling thru. Heading home from being away I had read about the Titanic Exhibit being at the Liberty Museum and stopped in. I was a bit put off by paying for parking, museum entrance and then the additional fee for the exhibit. That's part of why I didn't give a five star. In Boston it was just the exhibit fee. The exhibit was well placed and informative. I did see jewelry and trinkets that were not shown in Boston, loved that. But also was disappointed my friend didn't get to see the Grand Entrance, I just assumed that being such a historical view it would be there. I had explained that the submersible would be amazing to see but that also was missing. With the costs of viewing this smaller exhibit I wish the price would have been adjusted as well. The Titanic gift shop was amazing and overall the museum looked like a lot of fun for kids. Restrooms were very clean as well.

Incredible experience. We had a long layover for our flight and decided to stop in and explore. We checked our backpacks into lockers (you must pay for this) and stared on the top floor. There are interactive animal exhibits, space and science areas, healthcare area, model train room, a cool honeybee Honeycomb viewing area (they have the Queen bee labeled for you to find). Our kiddos loved the volcano presentation/explosion, the climbing fort, and the touch tunnel. We were here in Summer 2024 when they had a temporary Barbie exhibit, which was very interactive and inspiring. There are also a few eateries and a planetarium that we didn't experience but they are available for an additional fee.

Money trap! $7 parking $40 to get in. $10 for titanic exhibit $8 for planetarium Anything worth while is an xtra charge. They sold pins for $20 and none of them had anything to do with science or the center. They had a cell phone and pineapple on. For $20! Now don't get me wrong, kids will run around and point poke pull and push a bunch of things and be occupied for a while but the only learning going on is social skills. Having to interact with the droves of children. We paid for the Black Holes show in the Planetarium. We had a 5 year old with us and although he did a good job getting though it this is not for kids. Overall I don't think this is a ideal place to bring your kids. Bring them to Liberty State Park or the Environmental center close by. Even the new mall would be better idea for fun stuff to do. Don't waste your money! I'm sure a school trip to the center would fun for kids and all their friends.

    Touch tunnel! Core memory unlocked!

There are limited Yelp reviews about the venue, so I wasn't able to do much research on the menu and food ahead of time. I've never been to a wedding at Liberty House, so I had never stepped foot in the space before. It's very big, several different rooms and it's very bright, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that provide beautiful views of the NYC skyline. When we were first seated, we were given brunch food menus, brunch drink menus, and the cocktail/wine menu. Five minutes later when the server came by, he took away our brunch cocktail menu and said we had to order off the main drink menu. I didn't get a chance to look at the brunch drink menu closely before he took it away. I suspect this was so they could price drinks at a premium given it was a holiday (even though the server denied that when I asked him). I had two Hugo spritzes at $15 each, which felt very pricey. My husband's espresso martini was only $14, and usually those are more. I can't find the brunch drink menu online anywhere, so I have no way to see what drinks are on it and double-check the pricing. Service was slow. Drinks took a long time to come out. To start, we shared the Caesar salad, which came out in like 60 seconds. It says it comes with pita zattar croutons; it literally had two small pita crisps. Kinda pathetic. For entrees, I had the Nutella French toast and my husband had the steak and eggs. The French toast said it had bananas, but there was no banana to be found- just strawberries and blueberries. It was tasty, though. My husband enjoyed his steak and eggs; however, for $45, I'd expect a little more meat. They also put out a complimentary bread basket to start: a couple mini muffins and some toasted, stale bread. Overall, the food was mediocre. They have a parking lot; however, make sure not to scan the QR code in the parking lot and immediately pay. They might have some of them, but more maybe 90's games. It's pretty cool, bc these are games I grew up with. I prefer this over the mostly 80's games arcades that call themselves retro, bc I know these games in The Pixel Lab better, and they're more up to date. You're not going to find little kids running around in here. This isn't Chuck E. Cheese. No worries, they have a CEC in JC you can take them to play. There's mainly adults and teens in here. Hey, we need a place to have fun, too.

From the outside it looked like it was closed but luckily it wasn't closed. It was pretty empty when we stopped in but the gentleman at the entrance was friendly. I liked how they have individual spaces for video games where many people can play different video games at the same time. I was talking to my friend how this a great place to come with a group of friends and enjoy some video games. It's a rather small space but of course it's expected since most businesses in Hudson county area are small including living spaces. I would recommend coming here and enjoying some fun arcade games in a more intimate space.

Sitting up close to the kitchen, we got to see them cook and plate their appetizers, entree and desserts dishes from scratch, incorporating the ingredients that were given to them. Throughout the cooking, we also interacted with the chefs, asking them about the dishes, and also getting some samples of the dishes before they were served. We arrived for Sunday dinner reservation right on time. It was small space with about 20 spots. BYOB place, no cork fee. Half of the seat were around the kitchen. There was a scoring sheet for each guest with names of both chefs, the ingredients of the day and the rules. The chefs got 45 minutes for preparing their appetizers, 35 minutes for entree and 20 minutes for desserts. It was impressive to see both chefs were precise with their timing. The dishes prepared by both chefs were so masterful, had intricacy of combining the ingredients and coming up with some sumptuous flavors. Salmon and steaks were cooked perfectly. It was extremely difficult to score the chefs on barest of margins and pick a winner. But per the rules I did pick Chef Ryan Beegel over Chef Alexis Sicklick. The host was also super nice and funny. She did a super job of explaining all aspects of the dinner, cleaning out plates after each round and serving all the drinks. Truly it was one of a kind TV Show like experience for us.
