Review I traveled to Liberty Science Center via public transportation. I took the Path form World Trade Center to Exchange Place. Then I took the Hoboken light rail to Liberty State Park. It was a few stop and a 10 minute ride. Make sure you validate your tickets before you get on the light rail. (No one checked when I was on.) The Liberty Science Center was 3 floors. It was $32 for adult tickets. You have to pay extra for the premium exhibitions. They have a lunch room on the 2nd floor. The food was reasonable if you are from New York and cheap if you compare it to the other New York Musuems (e.g. museum of Natural History). Overall, a great museum. I will definitely visit again.

What a nice facility. Pricy, but what isn't nowadays! Lots to see, do and discover. Did the planetarium add on for $8 each. It was nice but wish it lasted a little longer. Aside from the exhibits, the views of the NY skyline and Lady Liberty were spectacular.

What a fun and interactive place! My kid is a soccer lover so this was perfect. So many different activities for us to do as a family and individually as well. I also appreciated that there were hand sanitizers around the whole facility. My favorite activity was the little foot soccer with the clear table, and probably the drone soccer. That was super fun!

I recently visited Liberty Science Center with my 2 year old son and another family with two boys, around ages 6 and 9. Overall, we had a good experience, though it definitely felt more geared toward older children than very young ones. There is an interactive room designed for younger kids, which we appreciated. We tried the planetarium, but unfortunately my son didn't enjoy it--the images moving toward him scared him. Luckily, the show was only about 20 minutes long. Highlights: the "ice" rink (big win with the kids), a hands-on chromatography experiment where I learned about capillary action, and an air spout exhibit with a floating ball that my son couldn't get enough of. There were also animals and insects on display, which added some variety. Overall, we enjoyed the experience, but it did feel a bit expensive when you factor everything in. Admission for two with the planetarium ($8) was $73, and between driving, tolls, paid parking ($7), and heavy traffic on the way back to Westchester, it added up quickly. It's a fun and educational spot, especially for older kids, but the cost and travel make it more of an occasional visit for us.

First of all, I think Liberty Science Center is basically a children's museum, so when I read adults' reviews of how the center is so full of kids and not geared towards adults, I totally understand and agree. Although the center is educational and interesting for adults (I find it really interesting at least), everything is geared towards kids, including how low a lot of the exhibits/setup are. With that said and expectations leveled, my husband, child and I come once a month, specifically during the Bank of America Museums on Us first weekend of the month where admission is free for all BofA cardholders. It's perfect during the winter when it's too cold outside to go to the park. During Halloween they have a cool Haunted House / mirror reflection Photo Booth setup and during the Christmas holidays they have a photo station with Santa, at both of which a family gets one printed photo. It's super fun! Highly recommend coming here with kids, we've come here since our kiddo could walk and he loves loves loves it. Wobbly World on the second floor, which is for kids up to a certain height (like 3yo?), is especially fun for toddlers because everything is designed for little ones.

Liberty Science Center is one of our favorite places! We love it so much, we became members. There are multiple floors and exhibits to explore. For toddlers and small children the "wobbly room". This room is all about BALANCE. There are things to climb, to build with, and to swing on. We spend a lot of time in that room! The train set room is AMAZING and so detailed. The rotating exhibits right now are Daniel Tiger and Sue the T-Rex. Its so amazing to see Sue the T-rex, the magnitude and size of the dino fossils are incredible to see. They also have animals to observe. We enjoyed the Sesame St movie in the planeterium as well. They offer paid parking. There is a cafeteria / lunch room where you can eat your own food or purchase food from the food hall. They had pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc all kid friendly stuff. It was a bit pricey but nothing too bad! There is a light rail stop nearby if taking public transportation.

Such a fun place to take my 8 year old and 3 year old. They both enjoy all the interactive exhibits. We have also visited their planetarium. I love how they have planetarium shows that are not as intimidating for the babies/ toddlers. This year we went during the Halloween season. Super fun to see skeletons hidden throughout and the Halloween decor. The Daniel tiger exhibit was cute.

Went to LSC on a Thursday afternoon with my son and my brother's family. There is so much to do and see here, with some interactive exhibits which is really nice. Unfortunately, this is a hot destination for summer camps and it seems like there is no limit to the amount of camps that spend the day there. It was hard to hear the audio exhibits with so many kids running around yelling, so the purpose was lost on the kids in those instances. Our kids still had a great time but it was definitely overstimulating, maybe more so for us parents. I would go again but maybe look into days where there are less camps present. It would be nice if they had a designated weekday for families with no field trips.

Great to spend day here. Planetarium is largest in North America. Great activities for children and adults. Parking is reasonable at $7 and food is ok and reasonable.

Lots to see, lots to do and, undoubtedly, all around fun for the kids. I hadn't been to LSC in ages (since I was a child), so when we took our kids for a trip here on a random Saturday afternoon, I was probably anticipating going here more than them. First, getting here. LSC is pretty much located right next to Liberty State Park in Jersey City. When you arrive, you'll go through the parking lot and grab a parking ticket on your way in. You can park ANYWHERE you want in the lot. You can either prepay, prior to leaving, at a kiosk inside the center or you can pay with your credit card at the lot gates when you leave. Once in, if you have tickets then great! You can get your wristband at ticket entry and be on your way. If not, just go to the ticket booths and they'll take care of you. One thing to keep in mind is that they do have metal detectors here when you walk into the facility, so beware of what you bring with you. There are 4 total levels to the building and, like I said, there is LOTS to do and see. If you're with kids, you can probably anticipate spending 2-3 hours here. I won't go into every detail about the activities, but everything here revolves around ...... surprise, surprise ---- SCIENCE! There is a little something for every branch of it - chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, etc. In addition to the activities, there is a food court on the 2nd level as well. You'll find your usual kids food there. Overall, it's hard not to have a good time here, especially for the kids - it's part educational, part playground, part amusement park. Not only will your kids have a blast, but you'll definitely learn a thing or two as well. Highly recommend visiting at least once.

Science? Yes! Titanic Exhibit? Yes! We specifically came all the way from Minnesota just to see the Titanic exhibit at the LSC. What a treat! We have a little boy who is a titanic aficionado. And the exhibit did not disappoint. They had a lot of official artifacts from the titanic, they had interesting bios of titanic passengers on the walls, you are assigned a real passenger and find out at the end of the exhibit if you survive or not, a glacier to touch, and even cabin room replicas. Also great photo ops when you enter the center...the bow of the ship and roses and jacks door. Other favorites include: - 4th floor observation deck - amazing views of NYC - turtles on 3rd floor - 3rd floor animals - 2nd floor couches to chill - 2nd floor dip n dots - 2nd floor snack shop - Bee hive - Model train room Yes we love snacks. The LSC is HUGE and ample parking roughly $7 to park which is a deal. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of bathrooms on each floor too. If we'd lived in Jersey we would sure be members!

Very well posted on I-78 driving into the area, I am not familiar with this area at all as I was traveling thru. Heading home from being away I had read about the Titanic Exhibit being at the Liberty Museum and stopped in. I was a bit put off by paying for parking, museum entrance and then the additional fee for the exhibit. That's part of why I didn't give a five star. In Boston it was just the exhibit fee. The exhibit was well placed and informative. I did see jewelry and trinkets that were not shown in Boston, loved that. But also was disappointed my friend didn't get to see the Grand Entrance, I just assumed that being such a historical view it would be there. I had explained that the submersible would be amazing to see but that also was missing. With the costs of viewing this smaller exhibit I wish the price would have been adjusted as well. The Titanic gift shop was amazing and overall the museum looked like a lot of fun for kids. Restrooms were very clean as well.

‼IF YOU ARE NEURODIVERGENT READ THIS‼ I went with my husband…read moreon a Monday, and it was a lot of fun! We got the Lovers Tickets which was ~$145 for both of us together. This package included access to all of the shows and exhibits, along with a free go at each game which was actually really cool! Not to mention we each got a free cocktail and a gift bag with some sexy goodies to share. We really liked the history exhibit, and the art gallery. The games were pretty fun too! There IS a spinning stripper pole you can dance on in the bar, so if you wanna give it a go maybe wear shorts, because I wore a dress so I wasn't able to do a lot on it unfortunately but it was still fun! IT IS LOUD!! If you have sensory issues I recommend bringing ear plugs, I'm happy I had mine with me. The music is super loud and sometimes overlapping between rooms. There are also multiple exhibits with flashing lights. The Tunnel of Love is a "4D Orgy" that "nuts" on you - which is just some water mist that sprays on your face, feet and neck a few times. I personally did not like that part, but if you cover your lower face with your hands it blocks it. You don't get wet, it's just not my favorite sensory experience. The kissing game was interesting, this one has you and your partner grab some metal bars and you have to kiss for a minute straight to win a "coupon" that you get to use on each other later. FAIR WARNING - this game sends electricity between you as you kiss since you are both grabbing the bars, this doesn't hurt you and you don't feel it, but it makes your mouths taste like METAL. We were both so concerned that we had a health problem at first but thankfully my hubby is an electrician and connected the dots really quickly. Overall a super fun day! The Monday crowd was super chill and minimal. The only thing I think that would make it better is if the staff could do a better job explaining what sensory experience you might have during each game, because it was overwhelming and sometimes uncomfortable. But I think if you come prepared with ear plugs, hand sanitizer (they do have pumps but I bring my own), and shorts under your skirt/dress, then it will be a fantastic time! Be very open minded and enjoy!

A very kind and enthusiastic staffer named Julie encouraged us to experience that exhibit, and even took awesome photos for us that are absolutely going up on our walls. She also explained the basic of what we were looking at, and kept it in simple terms so a math/science-challenged guy like me could understand. I learned a few cool nuggets on those subjects but that was all I could absorb. That doesn't matter, though, because the museum achieved its objective with me -- sparking curiosity and a desire to learn more about the subjects it covers. The whole thing could be done better in your own garage with three quarts of Sherwin-Williams paint and a roll of paper towels for confetti. The ball pit was only ankle deep in balls. I'm so embarrassed for Color Factory, I could make this place better in one long weekend with $100 and the help of three kids from a teenage art class. Collect colored objects from Goodwill, buy paint samples from Lowe's! Let kids paint! Buy colored plastic magnets and some light tables! The advertised "Ball Pond" is more of a hazard than fun I was at this unique, relatively new interactive art museum with another person around a week ago, having walked in while walking around as we were both curious. They list themselves accurately as a mix of "interactive spaces that blend light, sound, and space." Tickets were easy enough to purchase while there, and we were inside soon, with them giving us a general overview of what we would see without spoiling much. Of the 15 installations, my favorites were mostly near the beginning, which included The Map, Infinite, and Volumetric. Compared to some of the later ones, these were massive and felt more immersive. I liked the sound design, as well as the various graphics, with The Map in particular feeling all-encompassing from all the various scenes being displayed. I wasn't as big a fan of the more interactive ones, as it didn't feel like they worked particularly well. The 4DSound was unique as the audio did move around, but the booming bass drowned out most other background noise. The Cave had a nice display of fake hydrangeas around, but the monkeys reminded me too much of AI nonsense. This room also included the pricey but excellent Taste Labs, which had some nice flavored seltzers that were very overpriced but tasty. I think it was $8 or so for the lychee one. Then came the downstairs, which was my least favorite. The first more interactive exhibit allowed people to move their hands around to alter the screen, but it didn't seem to work particularly well. There was an interesting robot that excavated and danced/drew with sand where you could also make things, and there was an area for people to draw stuff as well. Last and certainly least was the Ball Pond, a giant but poorly designed ball pit. The area is dark, and it is very easy to fall inside, with the areas entering the ball pit being oddly hard. Case in point: I fell when I got out of the pit onto that hard surface, landing on my leg, which left a mark, and my left rib, which is still bothering me. Fun. Outside of the fall, I had a pretty nice time. I honestly didn't mind the price, as you can spend a good amount of time inside and they clearly put a lot of effort into this. This is not my favorite museum I've been to, but I would recommend checking it out.

It was so cool to see the evolution of musical theater. Throughout the museum, you can read about the history of theater, individual plays and the people and culture that shaped them. It's neat to see its origins and its current state. There were a lot of people there that day so you had to wait our turn. Then it was easier to see the displays and read about them. I also felt there was too much text and that it would have been nicer if it were more interactive. I know they didn't save props like they do now. However, they could play music from those musicals or display things a little bit differently. I think that's why many people quickly looked around and then quickly moved on. As you moved through the museum, there were more props from the musicals, information about the people in them, and the music from those shows. Then it was more interesting. It was cool that you could learn how the musicals started, how people were chosen for the parts and how the culture of the time shaped the music. I also loved hearing the music. There were a few sections where you could take pictures as you progressed; this was a nice touch and made you feel more a part of it. There was also a section at the end where you could see how productions came together behind the scenes. That in itself was interesting because you never know what goes on behind the scenes with the stage direction, costumes, makeup and set design.

This is specifically concerning the museum of the American Indian on Bowling Green in NYC…read more I did enjoy this museum. They have many wonderful artifacts to show you what Native American life was like. Many clothing items over 100 years old. A few poignant stories, like the story of Ishi, a Yaha Indian, possibly the last of his tribe, who chose to live in a human zoo rather than return to civilization or the wilderness. Beautiful artwork. I give it four stars because first of all, should we have these artifacts? I appreciate them, but were these acquired appropriately and are the respective tribes ok with them being in the Smithsonian? I would appreciate transparency on this. Also, while it touches on it at some parts of colonialism, overall it glosses over the crimes committed against Native Americans. And tells nothing (that I could find) about boarding schools, reservations, and how they still fight oppression today. There are also some artifacts and exhibits on Central American/South American Indians like the Mayans. Some beautiful carved wooden figures. Since this branch is in New York, there is a section on native Americans in New York. There is also an exhibit on Native American Art, which I enjoyed. It had a lot of contemporary and pop art pieces that really changed my perception of Native Americans. I always picture them as so solemn and proud. Some of these pieces were colorful and silly, and I loved that. Architecture is gorgeous. Admission is free, so through its really only one floor, it's worth a stop if you're in the area.

There are three or four large rooms of clothing and accessories on display. Beautiful designs. The museum has the subway right at the front door. It's located close to food spots and Battery Park. A lot of history in the neighborhood. The building is a great piece of work. The ceilings and rooms are great for taking pictures. There are Federal Offices located in the building and the New York branch of the National Archives. Lots of computers if you want to do some research. They also have a nice display of historical documents. All of the employees and security guards are very nice. I love Native American Indians. I love to go visit the museum as often as I am able. Everyone should go at least once. Very educational experience.
