I've always preferred credit unions over banks, as they tend to take better care of them members. I completed the process online, and shortly after signing up I got a call from the Brett Moyer the Assistant Branch Manager welcoming us to Rogue CU and he asked if we needed any assistance relocating to the area. I was very shocked because my prior bank/credit union had never reached out to me like this before. I took advantage of this unforeseen situation by asking him various questions about the area and Brett was more than helpful offering a lot of insight and advice. Fast forward a few months and I walked into the Roseburg branch for the first time. I was talking to a woman at the counter when I was contacted by Brett Moyer. He welcomed me to their branch and asked me how the move went. Needless to say I was shocked. I had a hard time believing that remembered me or the conversation we had a few months prior, but he absolutely did. I just wasn't accustom to such I high level of personal service where you're not treated like just another customer/ number. I asked Brett various questions related to IRA accounts, and CD's and various other services I was in the market for since they make my transition into Rogue CU so seamless. Needless to say I am very happy with my choice to join Rogue, and I would recommend them to anyone; all day long, and twice on Sunday's.

After telling them everything but my blood type I was told I couldn't do it. At that time I went to my home town Umpqua bank in Myrtle Creek. I was greeted with a smile and the check was deposited. ( This has no reflection on the teller her self she was very professional and polite)Then about a half hour later I was called by the bank manager. I got my Dads Will and death certificate and took it in with me to show that I was the executor. I met with the manager. There was no "sorry for your loss", there was no "sorry for the inconvenience ", there was no "smile". I was told that it was against law. Not being a lawyer I had no idea. I was just trying to do my Dads Will and take the money that was his and give him the honor and dignity of having enough money to pay his debts. I know there are dishonest people out there. But the paper trail I have left shows that I am doing his Will and trying to do my best with his death. I felt as though they were accusing me of trying to stealing 42 dollars from my dead Dad. The bank was right in doing what they did. Just the approach in dealing with it sucked.

In the midst of Covid-19 and the massive fires destroying hundreds of homes in the state, Chase…read moredecided to ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN to charge a $12/mo service fee to my sons account which i'm on. I'm a Veteran and their policy is that they don't charge Veterans service fees. Seems odd that this HUGE rich bank, would start charging people service fees in the midst of issue. Northwest Credit Union put out an email letting people know that they will do everything they can to help during the fires. Chase started charging service fees after 10 years of not charging service fees. DO NOT BANK WITH CHASE! They are crooks. They do not care about people nor do they HONOR their word about their account policies.
