I visited Liberty's Bar and Bottle Shop on April 17, 2026, and I can say with absolute certainty that I will never spend another dime here. What should have been a normal night out turned into an incredibly hostile and bizarre experience. While I was minding my own business and simply trying to walk to the restroom, I was literally body-checked by a young woman working there. When I naturally asked why she felt the need to put her hands on me and physically block my path, she immediately turned bellicose. Rather than de-escalating or apologizing for the physical contact, she became aggressive and attempted to deflect by alleging that my questions were a result of "not listening to her because she was a woman." It was an absurd and desperate attempt to play a victim card to justify what was, in reality, physical assault. Gender had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I was physically accosted while trying to use the facilities. The level of unprofessionalism and the toxic environment created by the staff is staggering. If you value being treated with basic decency and want to avoid physical altercations while simply walking through a bar, go literally anywhere else. They have lost my business forever. read more

What a fun stop, when i visited Cincinnati for thanksgiving this year we spent Friday just walking around the city and were actually headed to another bar that was not open yet so we doubled back and ended up here. Service is great! We bellied up to the bar and just chilled for awhile, I had a glass of a great dry Prosecco that was great for sipping, my cousins both got some local Ohio beers that were tasty. LOVE Liberty's! I recently visited twice in the same week due to how great this place is. First on a Saturday night which was busy; all the outdoor tables and the entire bar were full, we luckily were able to grab one of the couches to sit on. This visit I opted for the Non-Alcoholic Wine which was very good and tasted just like real Riesling! My friends all got classic Liberty Mules - some Moscow and some Kentucky - as well as some wine - it is so amazing this place has so many options for everyone! I came back again on a Thursday after work when they had just opened and was able to secure a spot at the bar - this time I opted for the espresso martini and WOW was it delicious! It quickly started to fill up as we were there so we were happy we had our seats secured early. Both of these times I had the same bartender who was so friendly, attentive and helped answer all our questions on the menu. She was super flexible in our ordering and always made sure our water cups were full which was greatly appreciated! After our dinner we went to this adorable neighborhood bar which had an amazing happy hour. 5 dollar red and white wines which the red was a temperanillo a smooth Spanish wine. I went to Liberty's for a work happy hour with a few coworkers. The space is pretty small, so I will say not a good place for large groups. The vibe was great though. It was dimly light with Christmas lights. It would be a great spot for a date night. I only tried the Cab Grayson, but it was a very well balanced red. I would recommend it forsure. I want to explore more of the wine menu. They have a pretty decent variety to choose from. The snacks were a little on the skimpy side. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the cheeseboard was pretty small with not a ton on it. I wasn't blown away by any of the options on the board either. The pimento cheese was a small portion, but super flavorful! I really enjoyed that. Overall I pretty good experience!! read more

This place doesn't vibe to me wine bar. It's a casual bar, low key, with plenty of beer on tap. The do serve wine, but it's limited compared to what you'd expect with a wine bar (think Corkopolis). I went looking for more of a wine bar atmosphere and I would more describe this as a causal locals spot with decent drinks. Either way, I would go back. I liked the crowd- not too young or rowdy. read more

This place is an interesting one. A bit outside my usual stomping grounds in OTR but went out to meet a friend and try something new. It was absolutely the type of bar he would like. The inside was an odd mix of cozy neighborhood bar bordering on dive, but the wall art is striking and really... is a thing. The selection of beers was great, really enjoyed that. And the cocktails too. The happy hour special was just cheaper glasses of wine which is fine if that's what you're feeling but I wasn't. Overall, enjoyed the spot but probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back. read more

Cincinnati....how you keep getting better! How I wish Liberty Bar was located a street down from where I live so I can walk to it every weekend! When I heard they opened up another Bar in the Over the Rhine area, my husband and I made the effort to come downtown and check it out. What stood out was the pig statues out front, the french doorways, and the beautiful painting on the right hand side when you walk in. Beautiful simple decor, beer hall style table, and loved the leather seat couch/chair sitting in the middle. When I looked around, you noticed the original wood flooring and walls (very detailed and spacious). This is a craft beer and wine bar/retail shop too. They also have a small selection of bourbon, vodka and gin. With the beer, they have American and European craft beers with 12-20 on tap and about 25-30 bottles and cans. You can also get them to go in six packs. Price ranging from $4.00 to $15.00 by glass, and they have wines that go up to $13.00 per glass.$ 10.00-$80.00 per bottle also for retail. My husband and I only had drinks. I heard they serve cheese, Shadeau bread and meats from Avril-Bleh & Sons Meat Market. The service was great and staff very knowledgable on the beer and wine. Definately a great addition to the downtown area. Love this place, it's very intimate and cozy. read more

Yay! Liberty's! One of my favorite drinking spots in town. Always a very friendly vibe and always an interesting selection of wines. Staff are helpful and offer useful descriptions of what's on offer. Also a great beer selection. The streetside patio is great, too. Last I checked, it was dog friendly. My dog was ambivalent, but he is always ambivalent. There is a reason our old neighbors go there the moment the workday is over (is that too much information?). read more

Liberty's is definitely at the top of my dog-friendly Cincinnati list. Not only are dogs allowed inside (and not just on the patio), but they also serve snacks (charcuterie, chips, etc). The vibe is super cozy with couches, benches, and comfy bar seats, and floor-to-ceiling windows (but no draft!). My other favorite thing about Liberty's is that they do beer, cocktails, and wine equally well (good wine at "standard" bars seems sadly rare in Cincy - either it's a fancy wine bar, or you're drinking Barefoot). They always have an interesting short rotating list of cocktails, but the bartenders are super friendly and competent - don't be afraid to ask for your favorite drink! read more

Oh Liberty's you beautiful little thing you! Tom Stephen, Garth Lieb and Jeremy Moore who have been in the industry for years have come together to collaborate on something really special - a beautiful craft beer, wine bar and retail shop. Liberty's for me is more than just a bar, it's a place to grab a bottle of wine on the way home, it's a place to feel at home, a place to sit and bask in the fresh air and enjoy a nice cold brew. What I love most about this place is the floor to ceiling french doors that open up entirely and make you feel like you are sitting outside. THIS alone is worth 5 stars. I am also obsessed with the long copper community bar in the center of the room. The architecture of the building alone is reason enough to stop by and check it out. The bar itself houses 20 rotating taps all focusing on craft and local beer options. They also have a really nice case that has over 40 craft canned beers as well. As for the wine, well I really wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! Don't quote me on the number but they must have had 60 bottles just in the case, including champagne which is my favorite. Kudos on that! And they have 15 wine pours by the glass. As for food, they don't have a kitchen, but they do offer Shadeau breads and Avril-Bleh meat and cheese boards which is perfect for the vibe of this place. I also appreciate that they kept it local. The prices are reasonable especially during happy hour 2-7pm $5 house red/white wine and $3.50 drafts. Last but certainly not least, be sure to check out the three little pigs out front, you can't miss them. Overall, I can definitely see myself hanging out here at least once or twice a week. The selection is vast and they always have something unique to broaden your beer horizons. The small pours are just enough to try many different kinds, so it's a great way to choose what you like. Decided to try this little spot in our neighborhood on a Saturday. We arrived at 6:00 hoping to find a place to land. The space is small but has a nice charm to it. For some reason we noticed a lot of people walk right past before realizing where it was. Look for the pig statues out front. The place advertises a meat and cheese board and we wanted a something light, so this was perfect. Unfortunately, at 6:00 PM on a Saturday night, we were told they were all out. They only food left was some bags of chips hanging behind the bar. While I do love me some chips, that was not going to satisfy for long. If you like a variety of beers in a bar with a nice eclectic vibe- exposed brick, large wood bar with copper surface, cool 3D art, this could be a great spot. Happy hours also have generous hours. I hope to come back and try again when the place is better stocked. All in all a positive vibe with a variety of beer. read more

Liberty's feels more like a local bar than something that's located in OTR. Sure, it has elements of hipster in it, but it's not over-bearing. That's why I love it so much. It lends itself to hanging out for a long time. With large couches lining the walls, and huge a community picnic table, there are ample spots to sit away from the bar itself. They have 20 or so rotating taps that change literally every day. If you aren't sure about a specific beer just ask the bartenders and let them know your tastes and they'll recommend some for you and even let you try samples of each one. I like that you can buy either a small beer (i think 3 oz.) or a regular sized beer. This lends itself really well to doing a tasting of multiple beers. Aside from the main attraction, the beer, they offer a nice sized liquor and wine collection if beer isn't your thing. You can also buy something straight from the cooler to take home with you if you would like. They offer some small snacks, like a cheese board, but they also allow you to bring food in or order something so you don't need to leave if you don't want to. Which you may not want to. This is my go-to bar in the OTR area if I'm not up for a more crazy setting. I think that is what they are going for and I think that they have nailed it exactly. Finally a place where my husband can enjoy his craft beers and I can sip a delicious glass wine out of 15 available sorts!!! I guess after you get bored with 'cab' or 'merlot' in most of the bars, this place is like a paradise! And the bartenders are always there to help. I stopped by yesterday with a few girlfriends looking to catch up after work, we secured the couch, what a comfy couch it was and what a great selection of rose they had a perfect combo for a summer night. Bar service was spot on, happy to answer any questions, suggest wines, great selection of craft beer beer they have a cooler so you can pick up& take home. This is a very laid back bar for groups to enjoy a bottle or two of wine. I love that the wine is sold at retail price, and you just pay a flat corking fee. It makes drinking with a big group so easy, and there are a lot of great wine options! read more

They have a great rotating selection of wines and really knowledgeable bar tenders who have always been great at making recommendations, asking what you like and suggesting things that might be unusual but still a palate pleaser. Not a bad spot, Liberty's Bar and Bottle seems a bit isolated from the hub-bub in OTR. As a result it seems to have a much calmer atmosphere than other spots along Main. I prefer liquor and cocktail bars, but Liberty is a good spot for a plethora of hard-you-can-drink craft beers. Reminds me a bit of Half Cut, but more spacious and less crowded. Bathroom is very Lackman-esque with multiple individual stalls. Service is pretty solid, but I think that comes hand-in-hand with a smaller crowd. read more

It doesn't really fit the bill as a wine bar as the selection is pretty limited, but is a great place to chat nonetheless. There are also a few board games to play. Plus its a little outside the typically OTR bar zone, so it doesn't get especially crowded. They do have beer and wine available for sale as well and there were several people just stopping in for a bottle. The staff is equally awesome! I typically go with a variety of the 5 oz draft pours to mix it up a little bit. Liberty's features a beautiful 100+ year old wood bar that is a historic piece of artwork itself. It is something to be admired. Go there early for happy hour, grab a seat at the bar and enjoy some banter with the bartender. Always great conversation and top notch service. These guys know what they're doing. I attempted to come here during a Second Sunday on Main as a reprieve from the heat for my girlfriend and our dogs. As we walked up to the door a man (we now know is a managing partner) came up and waved us away. He cracked the door and informed us we could not come in. When I inquired why he told me it was because his dog was already in the bar, and our dogs were not welcome until his left. He then told us they didnt open until 1 anyway. I looked past him and saw roughly 4-6 people with glasses already drinking inside and then checked my watch. It was 1:06. We had no desire to argue with the guy so we turned to walk away and were startled when his dog jumped against the window and started barking violently. I guess working diligently with my dogs to make sure they're socialized and well behaved in bars is not as useful as I originally thought, since apparently his poorly trained dog and personal etiquette trumps that. I've enjoyed liberties on previous visits, both by myself and with my dogs, but this type of behavior is horrendously unacceptable of him as both a manager and a dog owner. I won't be going back and I hope my friends decide not to as well. read more

I love Liberty's for its casual ambiance and great variety of beer and wine by the glass. Everything is really reasonably priced (last night I had two glasses of rosé, one for $3.5 and one for $5!), and it's a great big space to relax and have good conversation. If you want to sit at the bar, the people watching and bartender chatter is great, there's a big comfy couch if you prefer a more living room spot, and then there are picnic type tables and tall tops as well for even more variety! They offer wine bottles at state minimum for carry out, or you can drink it there for a small corkage fee. Last night I also found out that they have rosé Wednesdays! Liberty's has about 20 different rotating beer taps and they also have 15 rotating wines they sell by the glass. One of the best things about Liberty's for me is that they have local beers on tap; but they also have a lot of beers that you couldn't necessarily find somewhere else. They have a huge cooler with a wide variety of single cans, six packs, and bottles of both beer and wine that you can buy to take with you! I believe you can buy a bottle of wine and open it in the bar (as long as your down to drink it all); but you can buy single cans and drink those inside. They sell meat and cheese plates which is a perfect-delicious snack to accompany either your beer or wine, and who doesn't love a good cheese plate?! The service is always great and everyone is knowledgable about both the beer and wine which is always helpful when trying something new. But by far, the best part of Liberty's has to be going there when it's nice outside! The front of the building has beautiful floor to ceiling french doors that open up completely making you feel like you're outside. I adore Liberty's! It is our favorite go-to spot to start an evening downtown. Their beer and wine list rotate regularly and something popular or interesting is always making the list. I also love that they have a cooler of wines and beers you can drink there for a small fee or purchase to go. I love the ambiance, location and staff. Who doesn't love a chill less crowded spot in OTR? A little off the frequented path, Liberty's is a great spot to chill with your next new favorite beer. They have a great, but not overwhelming beer list that's easy to read and rotates frequently. They also sell wine by the glass and bottle, but given the beer options, I've never tried it. When you want The Eagle, but don't want to deal with the wait, grab take out and bring it here (or any of your fave food from the neighborhood). You're welcome to bring outside food. There are a couple tables with benches, a couch, as well as the bar to sit for your meal. There's beer and wine to go which is a nice go-to for the residents of OTR. My only (slight) compliant is that the beer list doesn't provide the style or IBU's for the beers. Helpful in decision making. Though the bartenders are super helpful too! read more

First experience at this smaller bar down on Main Street! Not a bad selection of beers on tap (~20 or so). It's not the biggest bar around, but it is comparable in size to places like the Lackman on Vine. I enjoyed my time here with friends, and if I'm looking to grab a drink at a less crowded location, this will be an option for me. read more

This place is really growing on me. I've only had the beer, so can't speak to their wine selection. They have a great rotation of local and international beers. My only gripe is that the beer menu doesn't list the beer style, or the ABV of each beer. However, for many beers you can order a half size or a full size, which is nice. The bartenders here are awesome, and were very accommodating of a large meetup I recently organized there. It's also a beautiful space! If standing for a long time is an issue for you, plan to come early on a weeknight, because there's limited seating. There are a couple of long tables in the middle that are high enough to stand against, and usually there are some free spots at those. read more
