My favourite shawarma spot in Ottawa. I'm so glad it's walking distance from home! It's a small little place but they've been around for years, and they are so friendly. Super delicious, authentic Lebanese food made by your older sister (mom if you are young) I had shawerma which was loaded , cheese and spinach pies - The house made deserts are to die for Don't think about it. I was in the neighbourhood and was craving shawarma for lunch, and taking the suggestions of others, I walked over to Libnan Bakery. It's located in the Conroy Mall plaza. When I walked in, the lady at the counter was very nice, welcomed me with a big smile. The place is pretty small. The menu is right above the food, and there is a table with a few stools against the wall. After smelling the food cooking, I got so hungry and decided on ordering a platter. I got the beef shawarma platter to go, which came with rice, potatoes, salad, and a small pita. They lady was very intuitive and knew how hungry I was, so she gave me a few "tasters" of potatoes while she prepared my platter. She loaded everything up, tons of food! She put salad dressing on the salad, and hummus and potatoes all over the meat and potatoes. She told me that their beef shawarma is made the authentic way, and it was so much more tender and juicy than others I've had. She claimed it was the best, which everyone thinks theirs is, but she was not far from the truth - definitely one of the best platters I've had, and probably the best beef shawarma meat. I was pleasantly surprised! The garlic sauce wasn't as potent, but very, very good and strong enough. It was really inexpensive, too - only $9.99 for the tons of food in the platter. I love this place. Their food is as good as shawarma gets, and they have an excellent variety of foods. I have been going to Libnan for over 12 years, and they have only gotten better. A few days ago, we had them cater for our wedding. The guests loved the food so much that all of the shawarma was polished off. But luckily we have leftovers of the lentils-and-rice (my wife's favourite dish), hummus and garlic sauce (yay!). So we are going to enjoy that for the next few days! I can't recommend them enough. I was on my way down to the Quickie to get some milk and I was hungry. I'd been past Libnan many times, but for some reason, this time the door was open and the heavenly aroma of chicken on a spit drifted out. I'm not middle eastern and didn't grow up in this food tradition, but I know what I like. The Chicken Shawarma is absolutely outstanding. The stuffed vine leaves (dolmades) were perfect. Price is on the low side ($4.25 for a chicken sandwich, $9.99 for a platter) compared to some places in the area, but don't let that fool you. The quality is there. I plan on making this a regular stop. read more

I live in the neighborhood, so I pass by this place pretty often. The meat pie (lebanese-style flat bread with seasoned ground beef, onions and tomatoes) is BY FAR the best I've had in town in a long time! I've eaten the whole variety of pies they offer, and they are all good, with the exception of the cheese pie... It's average, I'd say. There's not enough cheese which makes it a bit dry. Whenever I go in, there are pies bring made fresh. I tend to stick to the trifecta of pies: meat, cheese or zaatar (thyme and oregano). I usually go in the morning. Tabouleh and pita are fresh and reasonably priced. I've never tried the shawarma. read more

Found this great place about a year ago and have not missed a week since. Food is always fresh authentic and real. I have got to know the staff over time and enjoy our weekly chat. Great bakery you can see in the back all the goodness being freshly made. Pricing is also great value. subpar shwarma and ingredient choices. It's a small shop/bakery with a few stools to sit. The sandwiches are $4.25 and $7.99 for small and large and platter is $10. The large was very filling, similar to a foot long sub. The flavors are milder then other Lebanese places which might be appealing to some. The sandwich was heated on a grill but not for long which resulted in a cold shwarma. Also the ingredients, specially the lettuce was not fresh. read more

This place has some of the best quality Libnan food in Ottawa, and good price. They really fill up the sandwiches and platters. Great prices. I suggest getting one packet of those huge pita breads as they're only 2 dollars and as fresh as they come. read more

Their mini pies, pizza, and hot dog rolls are delicious! They're the best I have ever tried in Ottawa. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's a small place where they sell shawarma, pies, and other middle eastern dishes. Also, they sell different kind of middle eastern cheese. read more

this place is amazing the hijabi lady serving me was so polite and beutiful.... i wonder if she's married maybe next time ill have the courage to ask. anyways back to the food the chicken is soooo fresh a yummy the ingreddients the same and cleanliness is top notch thank you very much to all the great people at LIBNAN BAKERY!!!! read more
