It's a very new age bookstore. I remember when those 3D stereoscope images were all the rage. They used to have cards that had those images on them. Sometimes I could get them, other times not, but they were fun to try. For those that are into Chakras or Zodiac signs and that sort of stuff, this place has all those things. The books are mostly in French, but they might have a few in English for anglophone tourists and people that live there. It's been a long time since I was there, and things might have changed a bit, but it's probably still the best or only new age bookstore in town.

The thing with second hand bookstores, they can either be in a state of complete chaos, where the book title you're looking for *may* be there but because nothing is organized, you may miss it altogether OR the bookstore can be so meticulously and methodically well-organized that you end up walking out with some book titles you weren't even looking for in the first place. This is what happened to me at Beazley Books located in the quaint and picturesque Pointe-Claire village. The owner was also very nice and seemed to know quite a bit about the writers I picked up. Yeah, I know it's the West Island, but the distance is a lot longer in your head than it really is. I actually timed myself and found that I was there in 30 minutes flat from Lionel Groulx metro on the weekend. It's definitely worth a visit. A great selection of just about anything you could be looking for to give a gift or to find your next read. Staff is great and always there to help.

History, fiction, new nonfiction, classics, and more to include book themed socks are all packed in this well-organized book nook. I'm not sure if the guy behind the counter is the owner or not but he was very kind and helpful. I penned him down for about 10 minutes asking him to search his database for four different books, which he did with a smile the entire time. If they don't have it, they can order it for you. Also, if you register with them you earn store credit with every dollar you spend, which in a store like this is dangerous motivation. More dangerous motivation is that the prices are fairly reasonable. If I lived here, I'd be in that store weekly. If you're a bibliophile, go! On second thought, maybe you shouldn't...no you should, go! Enjoy!

It does not have the two "extras" that make a bookstore perfect, in my estimation. Comfy chairs and a bathroom for patrons. There are no chairs at all for customers, and only the McDonalds down the street for a bathroom. It's a very nice bookstore - new books only - and they have an interesting and varied selection.
