Staff are very…read morehelpful and friendly, and it's well integrated into it's community hosting local events after hours, providing meals for youth in the summer, and having a wide range of items to check out aside from books (including a disc golf basket and frisbee). One downside is it gets noisy in the afternoon, as they seem to team up with the local school system and often have groups of small children. That's what headphones are for though, and it's a good modern use of libraries as a third space vs just source of paper books IMO. There's a lot of tables, comfy chairs, and outlets and the internet is solid if not blazingly fast (usually around 20mbps). You have to log in every few hours, but no account is required. Truly gorgeous views from the main area.

As someone who was lucky enough to visit Page, and its world famous natural wonders; I was…read morehorrified to learn that Page City Council approved the possibility of a data center within city limits. Being in the middle of the desert, where only a couple of hours away at the Grand Canyon there's constant water conservation efforts. It's a disgrace to the natives, and it's a disgrace they still have to fight to protect THEIR land. All I can hope is that City Council backtracks this because it would be devastating for residents who would lose all water pressure and face serious health risks, and to the ecological environment. On the City of Page website they have an FAQ specifically over this issue, and state that nothing was approved to draw water from Lake Powell.. But where else would it come from?? Simply begging the Mayor and City Council members to make the right decision for current and future generations.

They have a great reading selection but also so many prizes and crafts! The best part though is how kind and attentive the librarians are. They know my kids names, say hi and smile, have great book recommendations and don't get annoyed when kids are kids. Love it here and feel so blessed that this is our local library!

To get to here, you will need to drive on House Rock Valley Road which is an unpaved road. I did it…read morein a 2WD sedan, but made sure that the weather was dry so there was no mud. There's a large parking lot with a few composting toilets. You do need to pay for a permit - the trailhead allows you to use your credit card to pay and prints out a copy of the permit. Anyway, this is an awesome slot canyon! Follow the stream bed until you enter the canyon. It's a short canyon that leads to a petroglyph panel. There's a ladder section, but also an alternative trail if you have a dog or can't navigate the ladder. At the petroglyph panel, you can then explore the Buckskin Gulch narrows (the full Gulch is an overnight hike). I had to turn around at some point since there were huge puddles of water - some over knee deep that I didn't want to risk accidentally falling into when balancing on rocks. I would definitely visit again!!!
