Do they even screen kids anymore in school? When our big one came home I went though his head and found what I thought were eggs (which now I think it might have been lint) so I bought the same old shampoo and "de-loused" everyone and everything in the house. 5 days later.. see the same tiny bugs I pulled off of the baby. NO WAY. I pulled off at least a dozen and a half of these pinhead sized bugs. That night we called Lice Happens. Emily came by the next morning at 9 am. She was incredibly informative and very nice, patient, and attentive with the boys. Paper towel after paper towel proved that we were all lice free. I thanked her, she left, and I started to think I was crazy! The next day I found several more of these tiny bugs, so I bagged them and went to the pediatrician. They were clueless. She thought it was dandruff until she held it up to the light "oh yeah, it does have tiny legs! Maybe you can call an exterminator and ask them?" So 100 google searches and 3 hours later, I went to the dermatologist and They pronounced it lice, and sent me off to buy a prescription shampoo. After calling BACK lice happens (Carol and Nancy) and telling them the whole scenario, I sent photos of what I had bagged. It so happens Nancy had these pesky critters before and they were NOT in fact lice. They were seed ticks!! A.k.a. baby ticks. These girls are awesome. Rubi (from the Allentown area) was at our house (in western Montgomery County) within hours of finding a suspected louse. She calmed us and checked us all, and meticulously checked and removed all signs of lice from the daughter who did have them. She was great with our nervous little ones!
