Our daughter's entire class was infested thanks to an ill timed sleep-over some of them had. No blame...it happens. That said, when you get them, you really do have to go nuclear to get clear without having to continually fight it. This means cleaning thoroughly, bagging any plushy toys long enough to kill them and their eggs and being exceptionally detailed when it comes to treating the hair and head. This is where Hair Fairies came in for us. Yes, we treated our kids and ourselves with the standard pharmacy bought pesticide based creams and shampoos. Several times in fact. But, we just couldn't be thorough going through the hair to remove nits and ensure we were clear. Hair fairies does. They are exceptionally thorough and detailed. They will slowly, steadily and methodically go through the hair inch by inch so that you KNOW you and or your child is clear. They also have a two week guarantee as long as EVERYONE in your home gets checked by them. What you need to know, however, is that they are not cheap. Based on my experience with them, they charge roughly $150 an hour for the time you are sitting in their chairs. At least they did with us. While I'm confident they did a good job, I don't know that we would use them again based solely on cost. Are they convenient...absolutely. If the peace of mind and convenience are your primary concerns, you should definitely use these folks if you end up with lice. If cost is your primary concern, then I'd forego and do it yourself.

Susan moved quickly and didn't make the appointment any longer than necessary without sacrificing effectiveness. We discovered my daughter had an infestation at 9:00pm the night before we saw Susan. I knew I'd call first thing in the morning to get a professional service to make sure the lice and eggs were gone for good! No playing around! I called at 9am, right when she opens and we were in the "salon" by 11:30! Awesome.
